  1. nice thorough explanation of your presentation
  2. The Onanda Park launch is a good option in winter. We launched a 16 footer there no problem. Wegmans Cove is just north of there, good fishing in summer up there.
  3. I saw a Mythbusters episode where they put bedliner on a conventionally constructed wall then sat Buster next to the interior of the wall and blew up C 4 five feet from the exterior wall, it withstands the blast completely, they also put bedliner on concrete block wall so it obviously sticks to different substrates including metal. Good luck.
  4. Thanks Kurt, it was fun to get back out there, too bad I didn't get a picture of us in our life vests surface temp was 46* On the water pictures in the wind of Wegman's Cove Back at the dock as the sun was setting
  5. I had to drive to Bristol to pick up the boat at Rick's Marine before I put it in storage at Six Valleys Storage high in the Naples hills so I had to check out Onanda Park for some shore casting, it's on the way you know. The sign at the entrance states the seasonal launch is open for any of you fisherman still looking to get on the water and maybe save some drive time either on the road or on the water. The area out front of the launch and the casting dock drops off very fast and the area to the north and south provided good fishing for me all season long. I ran through the colors green/ glow and green /silver K O Wobblers, blue / glow Lil Cleos and Daredevels in firetiger and orange with black dots. I worked from the dock and the shore but the dock area was best since it really drops off so fast. After about 20 minutes I did get one follower that looked like a brown trout. So it was nice to see there were fish in the area. I only had so much time so I gave it another 10 minutes chucking that green glow K O Wobbler 3/4 oz. and then I had to go pick up the boat. The Onanda Park is located on West Lake Rd aka County Road 16. There was one SUV and boat trailer in parking lot. High in the Naples Hills looking south
  6. Hi Jeremy, any pics of your new vessel? Good luck with your sale. Mike
  7. I was able to manage one more trip on Canandaigua Lake before putting the boat away for the season. Pete Collin, Tom aka tcon and his son Dustin made up my crew and we had a great day fishing. After checking the screen at the drop off and not seeing any marks, we shot up to just south of Seneca Point and started setting lines. I ran 3 riggers, 2 planer boards with 7 and 10 colors of leadcore, 300' copper, and 4 wire dipsies. Dipsies were 151' and 270' and 145' and 225' with spin drs and and flies. One dipsy had a 8 " pro troll echip white chrome/ crush glow and mirage fly which took a shot out 270'. We released that laker and then the rigger with the 8" blue chrome crush glow flasher with a Pete Collin hand tied tandem fly called the Supervisor took a small bow parked at 75'. The 75' rigger with that combo was hot for the bows all day, although the bows were small we had fun reeling them in, we nicknamed it the "skippervisor". We also took a small bow on the 7 color with a lil cleo. Lakers came on the the 300' copper with a glow double crush glow spin dr and mirage fly and watermelon NK 28 brass cup running at 69'. The down temp from from 45' to 69' was 51* and we kept our speed between 1.75 mph and 2.5 mph. The weather in the morning was nice and the water was calm, the wind did pick up out the south as we made our troll north with the wind. We turned back south at Menteth Point after Dustin reeled in a nice 5lb lake trout on the 300' copper. we worked back to trolling south into the waves and hit a few fish along the way. Pete picked up another 5 lb laker as we were out in front of the condos. We ended up 10 for 13, five rainbows from 10" - 13" and 5 lake trout, two 5 lbs that I kept and let the other 3 go which were all legal size but just letting them grow.
  8. hey acholmes, check this thread from IBAY, good details that could be utilized on other bodies of water viewtopic.php?f=50&t=28113
  9. Great report and details which anglers could make use of on other bodies of water thanks for sharing [ Post made via iPod ]
  10. I read once about letting your first perch out of the school back in the water with a bobber and 30-50 foot leader still hooked, if the school moves you can follow And keep fishing and pull in your marker when you are done. As far as the tight lipped perch fisherman Belhurst castle seems to be talked about often or just follow the boats out of the launch if Possible. Good luck and pick your days since you have the time [ Post made via iPod ]
  11. do you run same program from Canandaigua, to Keuka to Cayuga?
  12. hey dbubs, on Canandaigua now you may want to run north to at least the condos and work that west side 100- 180 fow from Seneca Point to Black Point, but I have not been out in a few weeks. On Keuka are you keeping your limit? I have heard the number of fish present in the lake keeps the size down.
  13. Okay a couple things, first: Hey secondchance, you should have taken a pic of the douchebag's truck and bad parking decision, one would think seeing the demand for parking would be at a premium with 2 tourneys going on at the same time. All the fisherman know that the Canandaigua State Marine Park (the north end launch ramps) are closed. Obviously that guy's head is so far up is ass he couldn't see the lines painted in the parking lot. Dbub3 posted he went to Woodville launch 10/23 and bagged Canandaigua for Keuka because the parking lot was jammed full. I give a thumbs down to the DEC and the state for closing the North end ramp on Sept 4 ( really? Labor Day weekend was the last weekend for boaters and fisherman??) to rebuild the ramps. Where is the money coming from for this project in our flat broke state? I was in construction for many years in the upper midwest and the pacific northwest and we worked in the winter. Second, I really like that MI Stinger on Canandaigua! Okay I'm done ranting.
  14. As winter approaches the city of Canandaigua will lower the lake 1-2 feet ( to prevent ice damage to permanent docks and ease shoreline erosion) but you should be good until then. Plus with the frequent rains lately the lake level is pretty much right about where they need it for outlet flow to the waste water treatment plant. http://www.canandaigualake.org/levels.htm
  15. nice job solo, I wish I could have been aboard with you Tom 2 miles north of condos would be Point Rochester with Menteth Point being the next point north, if you passed the Onanda Park and Danny Wegman's place (large log style home with 5 boat matching boathouse) that would be the area
  16. Detroit won ALCS in 2006, but lost to St Louis in World Series, last Tigers World Series victory was 1984. Go Detroit! I grew up in metro Detroit, and as an added bonus if the Tigers make it to game 5 my niece is scheduled to sing the National Anthem.
  17. Hey Tom, no need to feel bad. We were gonna call you to help us if we ran out gas though, so if you ever get a call from me on rainy windy day you might just want to let it go to voice mail.
  18. Kurt and I fished the south end for 3 hours this morning. With wind rocking the boats in the marina and rain coming down we set up heading north just off the drop off on the west side. We worked flashers and flies on 2 wire divers, 2 seven color leadcores on inline boards with a lil cleo and a blue and silver stick bait, 300' copper with glow spinnie and mirage fly,and 50' probe rigger with NK Mag spook. We turned at Cook Point to head back south. We were marking fish in 110-160 fow after washing the first set, I pulled a 7 color swapped it for 350' copper with NK mag Glow Frog on the inline, it wasn't out 5 minutes when the drag started pulling. Kurt cleared the other 7 color and started reeling the other 300' copper and we were doubled up on coppers. I had a good one on, so Kurt was able to muscle his fish in the boat and released him quickly. We were between Cook and Long Point going with the wind. It was nice being able to bring a nice 26" 7 lb lake trout on copper on a spoon and planer board. I usually don't run spoons on the copper due to the kink possibility on deployment. And getting 6 rods in the spread helped us with multiple presentations fine tuning to find the coppers were the hit of the day. Wires and rigger were silent. We varied speed from 2.2 mph- 3 mph. Down temp 50' was 63 degrees. After pulling lines I grabbed the shark weight and it felt so warm in my hands after being out in the wind and rain. We were glad we got out fishing and the marina staff met us at the dock and assisted us in docking. They told us the wind Saturday was worse than Hurricane Irene day, 4 boats broke off their dock lines and they were all slipped up next to the gas dock. We were running on empty all morning and I was hoping to gas up but the gas dock was blocked up.
  19. great report Pete, nice 50/50 dodger with that rainbow
  20. I would call Pelican Point Marina, they are on County Rd 11, aka East Lake Rd, just off Rte 364 aka East Lake Rd. They have a launch but it is only open during their business hours. They used to charge 5.00 in 5.00 out but maybe with the north end ramps closed they might change their tune if enough anglers hit them up. The north end has been hot, just ask Brett, but he's the only one that can get out there.
  21. I am looking for the power cord from battery to rigger, the older style connector with leads to battery and and the male connector. The connector cap fell off and the cord lay in the bilge for a week causing the copper to disintegrate. Kind of wondering if anybody has one of these laying around. The whole wiring harness is available at fish307 but I really just need the rigger to battery cable. Thanks for any help.
  22. Hi Brett, nice size bows you got there, thanks for the spoon colors.
  23. Way to go Pete, I'm glad you caught fish in high sun, and I will get that Grey Ghost wet next time, the supervisor took a little bow behind that blue chrome flasher.
