  1. And I'm sure you, and most others, will agree you've completely changed the look of what is now a VERY "artistic" TROPHY. Nice job Rod! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. From a purely artistic view I think #1 presents to the viewer better. Esthetically I think #2 is better as a "trophy". Rod----if you want a more detailed explanation than that (flow, positive/negative space, visual draw, etc) it will require several adult beverages and a lot more space here. 3. If you left it with All Seasons Sports you should contact them. He obviously was paying them a commission to be an "agent" so it stands to reason that they would know how to contact him. I hear horror stories like this all the time. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. They're "Jitter flies". Next question. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Who ME?? I would never do such a thing. . I recall a banana incident on a well known olcott boat once....... Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. It's all good Jimmy. I'm over it and glad you learned something. I'm sure Todd appreciated it last year. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Gamma Fluoro.......of course. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Thought so. Thanks Tim. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. "Vehemently" and VIOLENTLY!!! The funny part is I was the ONLY one that saved jimmy from a long swim in very cold water that day. Like Hans said---it may be "just a silly superstition" but there are WAY too many FACTS to back it up! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. I'm pretty sure the minimum distance is 150 feet--May even be shorter than that. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. For those of you that don't know Russell he's been featured in several recent articles in Great Lakes Angler. He's also a master painter and innovator of custom flashers (think Pro Troll). Here's a new page on his site with some awesome looking stuff. http://www.fishsalmoncandy.com/custom-flashers/ Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. No such thing as "stealthy" with copper OR lead core. There is NO fish that is going to see something as thin as a copper line or lead core line when it is separated by a 20' leader. Their eyes aren't that good and they are simply not that smart. Personally I use Blood Run Copper because it is far more user friendly and does not kink or backlash like the other stuff. I also ProStaff for them so I'm a "little" biased but you are welcome to come down to the boat this summer to see for yourself. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Almost everyone cleans fish on the water at the Oak. Leave the skin on steelhead, Atlantics and lake trout and you should not have an issue. You are allowed two days limits as a "possession" limit but to avoid potential hassle leave yesterday's fish on shore packed in ice. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Russell Gahagan is out of Sheboygan Wisconsin. The website was only launched this week and is still a work in progress. He will be adding to it and working the bugs out. Patience please. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. What makes them unique Chris is the fact that AFTER you have tied a loop in the leader the fly can still be removed and replaced. We have all thrown away or cut up otherwise good leaders when a fly became damaged beyond repair. These flies eliminate that as well as making it much less cluttered on your boat without 147 flies, all with leaders, hanging around. I recently joined the ProStaff for this company. You are welcome to stop by the boat at Oak Orchard this summer to see them in person. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Given the amount of ice still on Ontario and almost total coverage on Erie I think mid to late May will be a better bet for you. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. If you're breaking 30# fluoro "within seconds of being hit" you've either got total junk for line or you're being entirely too hard on them. I run 16# Gamma fluoro in the spring and 20# the rest of the year and do not break any fish off. Buy some 20# Gamma fluoro and back your drags off a bit. 18. Really? I've only been able to use the 47H for 5 and 7 color cores. To get 10 colors on there you would hVe almost no backing. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. One of our best kings from last year and the best brown from this year ( so far). Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Surprised no one mentioned Gamma so I will. Gamma fluoro and gamma edge fluoro are the best fluoro lines I've ever used and I've tried most if not all of them. And it's made in the US in Franklin PA. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. It sounds like we might have the makings of a new tournament! As far as speed---keep it at 2 or less and you'll be fine. Jimmy......love ya man but I can't show you "everything"!
  22. It's hard to beat a yellow/orange spin and glow or a lime green one 30" behind a yellow Les Davis or Luhr Jensen dodger. They are like crack to big lakers on Lake Ontario or Lake Erie
  23. The fishing is fantastic in the lower river. We fished the NRAA steelhead tournament yesterday and two of us hooked over 30. The two lower drifts, Ft George and Ft Niagara were our best drifts producing a 13.24 brown which won the Brown Trout category for us.
  24. It's about 22 miles.
  25. Honestly Mav I still don't see what you're saying. Nothing has been mentioned about using the copy written rules and format. In fact, I merely stated that there would be a pro am event in Orleans and it would NOT be tied to Niagara. There would, obviously, be no "Cup". However , I can say that there is a LOT of interest in having a "lake wide cup" of some sort that ties in several events. Like I said.... There will be an event in Orleans county the second week of June.
