All good advice... I spool up 6 set ups with 30# .... 3 have 17# fluoro spliced in for spoons... 3 have straight 30 to run paddles and flies. Wire divers, I use a small barrel swivel and then run 2 rod lengths of 40# mono to my divers... Keeps fleas off, and is kind of a shock absorber... Lol.... Had a guy on yesterday who was our "Copper guy" in the Monroe County Offshore Classic last year. He assumed he could put the same amount of heat on those spring sharks with BT gear... 2 bay rats and a couple Super Slims ....and a lot of me yelling.... SMH.... There are two different companies out now... One is called NK ( in Ontario Canada) one is called Northern King ( west coast of Canada. The West Coast Northern King was purchased from the original Northern King company. The Northern Kings are fantastic spoons. Rough water and speed tolerant.
