  1. I drove in from Rochester to attend. Thank you to St.Catherines Game and Fish Association and Andy Todd for the informative presentation. Interesting to see the direct stocking, pen rearing numbers. It was a great turn out. Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Complete crap.... Good divers like Cans Redheads and Blue Bills normally don't show up until after Jan 1. These old SOBs setting the season's are nothing more than wimpy fair weather popcorn duck hunters... God forbid they get a little chilly.... 3. Nov 29th thru Jan 4th late season? What????? WTF are those dates.... Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  7. I have a pair of 1994 350 Chevy block Volvo penta inboard motors up for discussion. The motors have approx 4700 hrs on them. I am the original owner of these motors. Oil changed religiously every 55-65 hours. These motors have been babied their entire lives and have had any work done to them by Tom Barberra at East Fork Marine. Reason I am selling is to upgrade to fuel injected more HP motors ... Pm me for further details... $1,000 per motor...obo Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Gator.... Where did you get the pup? Waiting on two different Kennels for a MaleChoc .... I'm pretty particular about lines and looks....Jackson is a Koket Creek Lab ( Erie PA). I like the blocky English look... He's not a field trial winner, but very easy to train... I'm also looking at Great Lakes Labradors... English / Hunting lines.... 9. Gator... I've been using the same fillet table ... I have it hang over the side and I angle it slightly so the blood and parts drain right into the water. Side of the boat gets minimal blood... I check every time... The board is worth every penny... https://www.deepbluemarine.com/ Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Last day was surprisingly good. I've hunted this spot 4x this season and all I saw was redheads and stale mallards. After the past two days cold and wind, I figured I try it again in hopes for some new targets to show up... Wow was I surprised! Lesser Bills, Greater Bills, Redheads, Blacks, and Canadas... Great day with some good friends... After today, I'm good till next season... Now comes Upgrades to the MissD, working on some training with my Jackson and maybe making some new decoys for next year....be well guys! Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. With the unusually high temps, no wind, and FNG's killing spots yet again.... The late season was a grind... Figures that this cold weather finally hits with 2 days left... Back at it tomorrow for the last day. Gotta love the coot.... They make great off-season training birds. Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Smokeless.... Rob, I use a Savage 10ml2... By far my favorite gun in my safe. Recoils like a 410, hits like a sledgehammer.... Savage stopped making the muzzleloader. If you can find one it will be expensive.... But worth every penny Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. I've been doing the 50# leader for years. Makes working on divers very easy. Another benefit is when flea season rolls around, the fleas don't pile up ahead of your diver...and Like RD said, the mono acts like a shock absorber when a king pounds your rig.... 14. The ole kool aide was flowing for sure...l... Love the adrenaline rush... I get the same from a dipsey hit, or a flock of Cans dumping into the blocks.... Thanks man. Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. I'm no die hard deer hunter. After blowing up my shoulder at work, I'm limited to the crossbow these days... Had a very serious illness about a month ago, and I wasn't sure I'd get out this season... Well, where theres a will, there's a way. Went down to my buddy's camp in Steuben County for a few days this week. I saw a Lot of small bucks... In fact 7 of us bow hunting never saw one of the big fellas they have had on camera... It's like they disappeared. Anyway... Camp rules...8pts or better and out to ears... Wend morning this fella came by giving me a TV show shot ..21 yards broadside.... A month ago, the Doc told me I should be dead...so this buck means a lot more than the number of inches he scores... Felt good to get out in God's country... 24. I will address your post Lucky... First off.... I can only answer for the Genny project... The DEC tells us when the fish are being delivered.. We usually only get a few days to a week notice. We cannot put tbe pens in several days or weeks earlier due to the collection of debris, plus in the spring we get current and water height fluctuations so risking destroying the pens before the fish go in isn't an option. Plus the Genny crew needs to coordinate with Skip Shumway when he is available.... The past 5 or 6 years the pens are put in the water on weekdays in the evening after 1630hrs... Most of us are busy with trips on the weekends, so that's why it's done that way.... Pretty much standard operating the past few years.... Notifications via Emails, posts on Social Media like here and Facebook... Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. Right on! If the DEC would allow volunteers to net kings for the egg take, I'd be the first in line. We do the pens out of respect for the fishery. Sent from my VS996 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
