  1. You need to weigh your options... A few years ago I was faced with the same deal... I love the boat and have owned it since it was brand new. It sounds corny, but I felt I owed it to her to fix her. Replaced all the stringers with Black locust... She will never have any stringer issues again. Boats are A lot like women... The older they get, they need a little more attention... And they sure will let you know if you neglect them... Good luck with your decision and have a successful season. 2. Scott is right look for stained water... If I find myself in gin water, I do exactly that... Naturals... Alewifes are Silver ish... So black and white or black and silver... Smaller baits.... Green and Silver is also a forage fish color... Brown could be a goby color... The thing is, run long leads away from the boat ...gin clear water makes the fish spooky. 8. [attachment=64067:0304181218.jpg Bought a bunch of pads from Al last week and I got around to putting my stick baits together. All my Bay Rats on one pad works great. The cool thing is, you can see them all, easy to pick out, and easy to store.... I will post more pics as I get my spoons hung.... FYI the pad shown is the original size... Spoons are going on Magnum size. Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. All you needed was a bowl of pasta and Tramp could have nosed over a meatball....ha.... Great mount John.... Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Northern Kings are solid spoons... Especially when fish like it fast, or if the water is a little choppy. I have plenty of NKs in my first string for offshore kings. Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  12. I believe they didn't let water out last Feb. Then we got last spring's debacle. Now this year we are all ready sitting a foot higher... Hope those guys get on the stick or we are in for another Fun Season Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  14. You guys on this thread are Hard core for sure. The late season separates the men from the boys...and this season Separated the Vikings from the men! Great job making things happen... Good luck to all who are chasing March Honkers and snows....I'm getting the tackle ready for the Big Lake....cheers! Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Congrats..... I got iced out on my last day... No wind and negative temps did the trick. Overall a great season. I look forward to next season. A few new promising spots to try, and I need to buy some new gear.... Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. Braved the wicked weather today... Took Double D (Dan DeGeorge ) out for a little extreme late season Divers. I haven't hunted this particular spot for a few years, but it turned out to be bang up... Red Heads , Mallards, and some of my favorites came out to play. Congrats to Double D ... Bull Can and a pair of Redheads... Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Cool hunts guys.... Congrats Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Thanks Kevin... Falconry is a cool sport. With I had the spare time to do it myself. My buddy spends a lot of time with his bird... I had 3 new spots to try this year....sucks because all 3 were smoke spots and they got iced out before I could hunt them... Such is life for the late season. 19. [attachment=61663:33322.jpeg Thanks.... Lots of scouting...lots of ice breaking.... Kinda like you guys with whitetails..... Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Thanks man...Jacks did a lot better than I anticipated... Reminds me of my Parker Boy. My buddy had the Redtail last year. She got wierd as the season went on so he released her.... He has a new one this year and she's a stone cold Killer. Vicious.... I won't try to hold her...not even with the glove... She's batting 98% on squirrels so far.... Just unbelievable to watch... Now with the snow, the rabbits are in trouble.... Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  23. Yea...they are my favorite. We specifically set upfor them... over the years I've learned Cans can be pretty wary. I will put out Bluebills and Redheads on one side and separate the Can decoys to the down wind side. They don't mind mojo's.... but they will flare at Whistler blocks.... I'm not saying my tactics are gospel, just what has worked for us in the past. Good luck guys..... about a week left. Sent from my SM-T550 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Not a stellar season, but breaking in a new hunting partner has been a treat. I got Jackson out on several hunts...all new experiences for him... Marsh hunts, field hunts, and extreme late season Diver hunting. We have some work left to do, but he seems to be catching on quickly.... Be safe out there guys Sent from my VS987 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
