  1. I think it's an '04 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I have a 196 superfisherman with a 115 4 stroke saltwater. Cannon downriggers, 24v minkota, lowrance HDS 5, autopilot. It's being winterized now. I don't know exactly what it books, mid teens? Let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Cool, Do you have a stand any where near that field ?
  4. Howdy All, I tried it again today on Skaneateles. It was quite a bit slower than last week. Did one laker on a firetiger needlefish @50ish, and a 20 'bow on a pink/white stinger @35. That was between 7-8, then nothing. The water was dead calm, so I went into jigging mode. I find that the bottom schools of lakers that I mark on my ff seem to be very small, and I can usually only pull one fish up before I drift past the school. Today was no exception. I found some fish in 50', and brought up a SMB using a white tube on a big leadhead jig. I found a school of fish on the bar in front of 5 mile point, and brought up a couple of small lakers. I hit a spot on the east side in front of a sailboat club. I always mark fish on the bottom in this spot, but they are always deeeeeeeeep. It took at least 30 seconds for my jig to get to the 157' where I was marking fish. On most drops I would have a fish on as soon as I reeled in the slack from the bottom. The fish weren't very big, 15"? maybe. I landed he first one , but it was so bloated I had to puncture the swim bladder to get it to go back down. The rest of the lakers from that deep I brought up more slowly, and then did a 'long line release' with them after I saw what size they were. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this lake, it typically is an early bite, ending by 9 or so when the weather is nice. Also, I think this coming weekend is the old boat show, so the launch will be extra busy with the wooden boat people. When I docked around 11 a this morning, the parking lot was full, and there was a fresh pile of broken red trailer light lense from the most recent victim. I picked up a couple more needlefish at All Season Sports in Pulaski the other day. I think the ones they had were mostly the #2s. Good Luck, Rusty
  5. Howdy all, A similar report from me. I hit skinny last Wed and Thurs from about 7-10am Two riggers, one around 50, one 35, and one 7 color lead core. Riggers took lots of 15"-20" lakers with small bronze stingers and needlefish. The core took a 20 "? rainbow and a 20"? Atlantic. I had a small joined perch rapala on the end of that line. I also had a couple of big SMBs taken on the core. The rainbow was released, as was the LL, however the LL was a floater, and ended up going the livewell. I gave it to John Gaulke at the ramp. He cleaned it there, and we saw a bunch of 1/2" perch fry in it. I hope to try it again tomorrow. Rusty
  6. Looks like fun. I bought a kayak a couple of weeks ago and am eager to begin fishing from it. How'd you get the cowbells to 100 feet. ? Thanks- Rusty Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. The closest one I'm aware of is on rose hill rd. They usually have crabs minners and worms. Google says there's one on crow hill rd. Don't know if they sell crabs. Good luck Rusty. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. I think mine is an '04. I dont want or need to go any faster than 32 mph, usually I'm doing less so I can watch for debris, and hopefully keep the MPG from taking a beating. As long as you are all here, any of you have a swim platform on the fishmaster ? I'd like to have one, but the 'marina' I talked to in Syracuse wasn't interested in doing it, and suggested I talk to Forest Fisheries in Homer. I called them once, and didn't get an answer, and have never remembered to call back. Thanks- Rusty
  9. I trolled owasco for 3 hours on fri June 27th. Started on the north end finished when I got to the bs camp. Used a 7 color , wire dipsey and a rigger. Spoons, sticks and spin drs. Had one hit on the wire, but other than that it was nothing but fleas and more fleas. Judging from what I saw on the ff, I may have been better off jigging. Next time ! 10. I have a 196 with the 115 merc 4 stroke. I get about 32 mph solo. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. My '05 Tundra is for sale on eBay and Syracuse Craigslist ! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. I had a similar experience there years ago. I think the docks are made from used pallets, you have to dodge traffic launching , park on the side of the road, and pay a hefty price. The boat I had at the time fit at the dock, but the owners watched as I had to make numerous attempts at docking fighting a west wind, in the snow. Never been back. 13. A few years ago I switched to Blackhorn 209 powder. It causes nearly zero fouling , and reloading a second shot is much easier than when I used pyrodex or 777. I only wish it came in pellets. I also use Barnes bullets. Love em Rusty.
  14. Howdy all, Trolled Owasco today from 12-5. Lots of good bait balls. The ones I saw were on the west side 40-60 feet down over 100'. I couldn't get a spoon to fire. Ended up going 6 for 6 on lakers. 5 were on stickbaits, one on a dodger/fly. I usually dont check surface temp, but for some reason I think it was 63. The 54 degree water was at about 55 feet, but it moved a few times. I was hoping for a rainbow- but no luck. Might be the last trip for the year. Oh well, that means its deer season soon Rusty
  15. Ended up with several hits on the same leacore line, but couldn't keep anything hooked up. Took one 20"+ laker near the bottom in 85' on a chartreuse evil eye. I decided to try and calibrate the reel I use on the wire dipsey set up. While drifting, I let the dipsey sink to the bottom. In 80 fow, the line counter read 110. I'll have make my own chart now, and perhaps catch something on the darn thing. Rusty
  16. Can't buy a laker or rainbow. Got one 20" walleye on a 7 color lead core over 150' on a fire tiger needlefish. Weird.
  17. I have the same boat, a few years older- 2006 I think. I love it. I'd love it even more if it caught fish like yours did. The idea of a dual axel trailer is a great one. Seems like a lot of boat for only two wheels. I see there is a single step 'swim ladder' on yours. Is that stock or did you add that as well ? I'm sure you know you will have no trouble selling that sweet rig. Rusty
  18. Hadn't heard it was closed. Nothing on a Google search.
  19. Is that correct ? 10 Ams and 11 Pros ? How come participation is down so much ? The enonomy ? Rusty
  20. Well, there are two fewer lakers there now ! I think soaking them in ice water may have removed some of the strong flavor. Either that, or frying them in butter- yum. I didn't even think to check the stomaches of the two lakers from Sunday. I doubt there would have been anything except alewives because they came from the middle of the lake, 80' down. I remember reading that pollutants from Groton ? sewage treatment plant were being blamed for some of the changes in the lake. Do you know if that has changed ? I still think Oneida is the place to go if you want to catch walleye. A couple people I work with report great catch rates. I don't fish Oneida because 1) its an hour drive, and b) I typically am a catch and release guy, so catching fish that are good eating is not a concern. Hope to get out again soon. Rusty
  21. Thanks for the info guys. The fish look like they might be from the same stocking . Last year maybe ? It would be great to get that lake back to a 3 trout fishery. Lakers, Rainbows and Browns. Head to Oneida if you want Walleyes. I have a 4 color lead core I'll try next time. I've got to have an orange spoon somewhere in one of the tackle boxes. Rusty
  22. That works for me. You hear of any one catching browns ? I've done a few rainbows there this year.
  23. Howdy all, Trolled Owasco today from about 9:30- 1:30. Nothing on the north end. Moved outh and picked up a 10" rainbow from 54* water, wich varied from 40-55. Got two 25" lakers when I hit a bait pod. Couldn't revive 'em when I tried to release them, so they came home with me. I filleted ? them , and soaked them in icewater for an hour or so. I did the egg wash, seasoned bread crumb thing, and pan fried them in butter and EVOO. To my suprise, they were good ! I don't keep much of a fishing log, but it seems to me that the lakers are getting bigger, and fewer. Seems like I used to be able to catch a bunch of 18" ers, now I get one or two per outing, and they are generally in the 23+ range. Oh yeah- remember the flea flicker. The little bastards were even attaching them selves to the dipsey wire. Rusty
  24. Howdy all, I found fish trolling between Johnson shoal and pt. salubrious in 20 fow on a gold rattlin rap. Between the weather, visitors and cooking, I didn't get out as much as I had hoped. The ones I did catch were fat tho. Apparently gobies make good smallmouth food. Rusty
