  1. We were out last night about the same time. We went west however and Cold surface temp out to 120(46degs top 40degs at probe). Moved out to 160fow and the surface was 67degs on surface and 43 degs down 80F at the probe. Marked a few fish, we lost a MAJOR king that hit the dipsey. It's a funny thing on Wednesday the fog was costal because of the cold water in and the offshore breeze. Last night the fog was out deep because of the cold breeze and surface temp meeting
  2. got to the water about 7am. Not a breath of air and MAN was it cold. Surface temp 43deg and 40deg to bottom. Fished 60-105'. Very few marks but we had a big hit and run. We did hear on the radio people fishing off Braddock had 53 deg surface and 46deg down temp. With any luck we will be out tonight again UPDATE: got out at 6pm(very thick fog) and went to around the same area but out a bit deeper started in 120FOW and found 58deg surface and 40 at the probe @60FOW and 44 @45FOW. Didnt mark too much but still ended 1 for 2 with the lost fish at the boat (broke the line as we went to net it) 13# King PS: Skip the inclose water currently do not worry about anyting under 60FOW or so, COLD 43-40 top to bottom and the water in gin clear
  3. Started fishing at 6pm. Figured due to the upwelling we would stick in close. Fished 70-120FOW. Surface temp was 45-42 temp at the probe was 40-38. Went 3 for 4 with the big boy being 28# King. Echip/fly took 2 landed fish and 1 lost, and a NK Bloody Nose took 1 fish on a slider. Unfortunetly we hooked up with the 28# are 7:55 and the fish gave a 30min fight, too late for weight in :x We did not have our digital camera but do have some ****ty cell phone camera pictures that I will try to get up
  4. I was in Dick's @ Webster last night and they had a couple Heartland rods
  5. We went out this Mourning - 3-4+ ft rollers Temp is ****, we started in 150FOW down temp was 73 top to bottom, pulled the lines and went to 250FOW and the down temp was a bit better 58 down 110ft but nothing on the screen. We saw a bunch of boats out further so we pulled the lines again and ran out to 410FOW and the temp was finally decent down 110ft it was 52-54 We pulled 1 King that was maybe 3 lbs. Fished From 8AM till Noon
  6. it is a great sale! hopefully we will be going at somepoint
  7. We do not fish too much for brown's. We mainly run spindr/fly, echip/fly and a couple of spoons We traget Kings(of course) and also have been getting Steelhead as well on both the flies and spoons
  8. We attempted to as well out of IBAY but the waves were in credible. We manage to troll directly into them or with them a 2.5-2.75mph at the probe. Water temp at the surface was 78.0 and the down was 50.0-53.0 @ 80FOW over 100-150. We marked all our our bait/fish in the bottom 20 feet as well We figured that it would be a nice mourning, no wind just a slight breeze but the lake was still kicked up from the day before.
  9. We have been getting a decent catch of Kings and Rainbows in 180FOW-250FOW. We went out Thursday mourning for a couple of hours but could not run out the 7miles because of the 4-6' swells. We decided to start in 100fow and trolled NE out to 150fow down temp was low 50's and we marked a decent amount of bait and a few fish. We fish out of IBAY and head NE becuase it gets deep quickly Good luck!
  10. We left Irondequoit Bay around 6pm...there was no wind and the lake was flat(maybe a half foot wave here and there). We ran 7 miles @40mph smooth!
  11. Wow!!! I am very surprised about this. We managed to make it out Satruday around 6pm at there were no waves. Fishing when it is rough is not much fun Congrat on the Kings! We are planning to fish from Sodus mid Aug
  12. Without a doubt it is a necessity!!! When we installed our Subtroll our fish catching increased big time!
  13. I didn't write it down but when we go out tomorrow I will look and post it
  14. We have Cannon MAG 10's great downriggers and have had no problems with them **knock on wood**
  15. Started fishing about 6pm in 100FOW. Once again the temp was decent 46deg down 80. We marked a decent about of bait and single fish marks but no takers. About 8pm we pulled our stuff and moved out to 200fow and started to troll back in toward the shallow. Down temp here was 44deg down 100fow. We started to clean the boat floor and just after spreading the soap around the deep rigger fired. I grabbed the rod and the fish pulled a ton of line. In the mean time my dad is hosing the floor becuase it is so slipery. Finally got the fish and and it was a 25# king!! He hit a GreenSpinDr/Fly 100' down over 160. Set the rigger again and within minutes we had another good taker. By the time I grabbed the rod the fish was gone. Done fishing after this and was in by 9pm.
  16. We fish a lot after work 6pm-till dark and it usually is very good. Like other say it seems to really pickup the last hour of daylight.
  17. We troll with our Yamaha 115hp 4 - Strokes. Easily slow down to 1.5 We have twin 115's and turn 1 off. We have nearly 150hours of trolling on each motor over the last year No Smoke, No Smell, VERY VERY Quiet
  18. Sunday July 29 Worked 100-130 FOW off I-Bay. Ended up 2 for 2 with a 18# king and 6# steelhead. The king took a SpinDr/Fly off the dipsy. Steelhead took NK 51chev off the rigger. Good down temp 40-43. Decent amount of bait pods....few fish marks Tuesday July 31 - Went out from about 2:30 until 4:30. Fished between 100 FOW - 160 FOW. Water temp is 40-43(Same area as Sunday) Ended up 2 for 2. With 1 King and 1 Steelhead Spoon(51chevy) took the king off the downrigger @70fow. SpinDr/Fly took the Steelhead off the dipsy Overall slow! We marked a decent amount of bait pods and few fish marks. I will post pics this afternoon
  19. We use the Rohmer release on the Subtroll coated cable without any problems. We run the release about 12" above the probe
  20. They are whatever hooks come on NK Spoons and A-tom-mik flies(not the tournament rig). We have started to swtich to Eagle Claw over the weekend
  21. Does anyone else have this problem? We lost a few the last couple times out and when you get the lure in the one hook on the treble is completly straight.
  22. our NK spoons seem to hold up fine. Our hottest NK spoon is a NBK, it has caught a lot of fish and looks just as it did when it came out of the package
  23. We got out about 7:45am and headed straight for the spot that we have been fishing for the last couple of weeks. Started in 220 fow and set a NE troll. Got out first hit at 280fow and brought in a 12.5lbs Rainbow. We through about heading in to weight it for the tourney but deceided to wait(MISTAKE! it weighted 11.09 at the scale) But hey we still put a fish on the board for now. We are in 14th for now. This came on a Dipsey/EChip and Siggs Fly(which was completly messed up when posted by LOC) Got another small 'bow on the rigger 80' down over 280. Came on a NBK NK spoon Missed 1 other. Not too bad out there temp was 44 down 100 over 220-300 FYI: This is the first fish the we kept this year after filleting the fish we were interested enough to cut into the stomach to see what it has been eating. We pulled 3 full alewife out, the largest being about 8"
  24. no flea's out of I-Bay...yet
