  1. I'm happy to read a post from our backyard. Thanks Rick! Without my children's soccer and volleyball tournaments, we will give it a try next weekend.
  2. Rick, This is a TERRIFIC idea! Not to rain on your parade, will I get a handicapped score like a poorer player with higher handicapped score against superior player wiht lower handicapped scores!!! Yes, I can catch fish but nothing close to playing with the PROs just like YT! Just pulling your wool. Tight lines.
  3. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: BRAVO ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 9-8 Time on Water:6 am - 830 am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: sw Waves: 1 Surface Temp: Location: ibay to GENNY river LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 2 Boated:2 With the stormy forecast the night before, I was up studying the radar map like crazy. There was a long line of strong T storms spanning from ERIE to CINN.! OH. At 5 am, I decided it was a go and met up with two of my buddies, one was my former neighbor and Mark the shark - deaf fisherman from LOU. We started right out in 40 fow, the screen was FULL OF FISH! This is why I LOVE September! There is no need to run too far to find fish. Two riggers 40 and 50 down. With spin doc fly. And orange NK spoon with glow tape. Two divers 120 and 150 out on 2 settings, 300 copper. Within 15 minutes of trolling, First fish took nk spoon off the rigger. My former neighbor landed his First ever king salmon. How can one live in Rochester and not catch salmon!? I was so thrilled for my buddy when he held up the fish for a photo shoot. Next fish took pro troll green flasher with silver flash and glow with blue fly siggs rigs. Sure enough. MRk - deaf fisherman battled the fish for good 20 minutes. We cleared the lines to allow mark to fight the fish without getting into tangles. 50 feet away the hook on the fish jaw came unbuttoned. This was a HUGE fish. Around 8:30 am. We headed back in to be safe. We got back to the dock in time before it poured. Fishing in 40 to 60 fow, you must expect traffic as there were many charter boats out there with some rec boats. Everyone seemed to cooperate with each other today. Water level is very low in I bay outlet. StAy in the middle of the channel and watch out for the sand bar on your right when exiting the outlet to the lake. Tight lines. Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================
  4. Gotta love that KING FESTIVAL photos! WTG! And, of course, thank you for sharing all of your wonderful fishing reports regardless of how good or how slow fishing has been. You da man!
  5. Sorry to hear about this, Bruce. My boat was hit several years ago when I was docked at Sutters. It does not matter where you dock, it can happen anywhere. The fall season is upon us and it appears that thefts happen more during this time. One advice I gave to my fellow fisherman was to take photos of the equipment sitting inside your cabin and anything of a value outside the cabin. I was able to use the photos as a proof for my claim with the insurance. Not everybody keep receipts of every item they purchase.
  6. I am in disbelief after reading the comments on your post. Either you are BRAVE or you are just plain DUMB. Life is too short to allow for a mistake like this to happen when you are out there in the raging high sea. When I started out trolling years ago, I thought I was brave to be fishing in 5-7 sea with my 21' wellcraft.Back then, I was very green and overly motiviated to become a better fisherman and I would do anything to fish anytime. To this date, I just know it that I was FOOLISH to allow ourselves to be fishing in this condition. As a result of building experience under my belt, I am more careful as ever when it comes to planning a trip. Im not a faint hearted as some of you may not know me. I grew up fishing in Atlantic Ocean on my cousins 58' Egg Harbor. High Seas can KILL you. The swift changes to the wather conditions out there in the Lake can be DEADLY. For most of us, please take a moment to bury this in your heads: the sage advice from the captains who are concerned about keeping fishing SAFE for all in the lake. tight lines and safe fishing! Anthony
  7. Great work out there, Bruce! Thank you for sharing the report.
  8. Hot damn Brian, you re killing em. Please be sure to save enough fish for the rest of us. You must have been carrying a lucky rabit foot somewhere in your pocket. Congratulations!
  9. Wow! Talk about a silver marlin in our backyard! I just knew it that the weather last night was prime for fishing. Way to go!
  10. Very valid point you have just raised here. With the hot salmon fishing activity, it is very easy for the other fish to go under the radar unnoticed. Again, thanks for sharing the excellent posts with the LOU community! Best of luck with the upcoming derby.
  11. Thats a great picture of steelbow! It seem as if the steelbows size are a bit smaller compared to last year and the year before.
  12. What a nice way to spend the day! Come to think of it, there are over 4,500 of us sitting behind the desks reading about your adventure this morning. I will take a slightly dirty boat with fish slime on it over a clean boat without any fish on it!
  13. This will go into your book of treasured memories with your family. Unlike my own kids, they are not up for trolling with me anymore They just wanted the tubing experience. Tight lines, Anthony
  14. Thank you Harvey! I got mine yesterday! Im ready to do a serious DEEP TROLL with these awesome torpedo weights! Anthony
  15. Thank you so much for the links - Windburn & Sean Y. Anthony
  16. Way to go Brian! You know it that you have a major once you picked up the pulsating rod. Best of luck with the derby!
  17. Awesome report! It seem as if the current hooks are not sea worthy for these brute lake sharks. Someone has mentioned about using crazy glue to reinforce the strength of the knots holding the treble hooks. There was a thread somewhere and I ll dig into this deeper. Motoman - which brand hooks are you using now? Tight lines!
  18. Rich - it was actually the tubing excursion that has caused damages to my poor fish killing machine. The EZ steering bracket was not the only thing that was damaged, the prop on my kicker also went off somewhere in the lake. I am better off taking my kids to Darien Lake because this is very inexpensive compared to the replacing the parts. Bottom feeder - please check your PM. Thanks.
  19. Sean, Thanks for checking. This is for the bracket connecting the kicker to the main outboard. Anthony
  20. Im looking for a spare EZ steering bracket. Mine came off after the tow rope for pulling the tube got stuck with the EZ STeering bracket. Pick up in Rochester. Thanks so much. TEXT 585 754 3532. Anthony
