  1. Ive heard of lots of guys who had problems with vanish including myself. Only problem is if you want flouro in a pinch (locally), its widely available where as seagar is not.
  2. Good idea, have you or anyone else tried this?
  3. OK this is driving me nuts! I have a rig with 14/6 fireline and I want to use a off shore inline planer board with some stickbaits. The fireline keeps slipping out of the release pads. It seems 1 time I read there was a way to correct it but I'll be darn if I can figure it out. Anybody? Thanks
  4. My report is almost a ditto of yours today. I was in the white Sylvan. 1 brown about 6 lbs on a brown trout rapala. 10 feet water, board 150 back. No other hits, left at 11am. clear water, sunny, calm, 30.2 barometer, I knew it would be tough plus no warm water to be found except the creek. Should of hung around there more. BP out
  5. Yes vanish sucks. Knot stregth is not good, no matter what knot you use.
  6. Canandaigua is one of the top pickerel lakes in NYS. Anything over 5 lbs is a trophy.
  7. Do you guys like rigging them to slide down the line or to be taken off manually? Hmmm.....
  8. Since when are there Pike in Canandaigua? Do you mean Pickerel?
  9. What do you guys like for leaders for shallow trolling browns? Mono or Fluro? What lb test? Im trying to decide. Thanks BP
  10. Thats all I needed to hear. I couldnt decide between lowrance and Humminbird. Im in the market for a new sonar/gps combo and it looks like Humminbird from what I read here. Screw lowrance and their 3 hour wait time.
  11. Feel free to roll the dice then if you dont mind tickets and loss of permit....
  12. No doubt, You can not have big motors on the boat even if you claim you are not using or you will get ticketed. Been going there 30 years and thats the rule. They do check on a regular basis as well.
  13. OK this is not Nuclear technology Im asking for. Just a few Seneca Perch reports although it might as well be, Id problably get more info on Nuclear technology! Can anybody break the silence and tell me how and if they have been hitting on Seneca before I make the 150 mile round trip and 50 bucks worth of gas. I know the weather has not been great but anything would be appreciated. I feel foolish for even asking because usually the answer is..........silence BP
  14. 48" would be alot bigger than 16.5 lbs. Closer to 30.
  15. What is the biggest Pike you have either caught or witnessed in either Seneca or Conesus L. over the last 10 yrs or so? And what were you using?
  16. Actually, I have heard of muskies doing that from other boards. Never heard of a Pike doing it though so you may be right.
  17. pay a garbage company to empty it just like anyone else does. How much would it cost. I pay 50 bucks for 2 mos. Big deal.
  18. I like the guys reply about having a golf cart shuttle and enforcer of the rules. Too bad it will never happen in NY. (although they have a shuttle at the Buffalo Harbor) How bout at least a garbage pail??? Is that asking for too much?
  19. Ditto..there should be NO discussion of eating muskies. The state should make C & R mandatory for all skis. A Graphite reproduction for all mounts is just as good or better. They are just too rare and valuable to keep for any reason including mounting or eating. No real sportsman would eat a musky, except maybe a rookie.
  20. Not too mention the fact there are no garbage pails there and litter is everywhere. The last time I went someone just threw their 6 pack cans on the launch ramp. Nice. Why doesnt NY provide a garbage pail? Dah!
  21. Sluggo where have you been hooking these muskies by accident? Erie?
  22. Does anybody regularly catch smallmouth in the Braddocks to Hamlin beach corridor? I know there are a few spots in there but nothing compared to the other ends of the lake. Anybody have any reports at all from the last couple months in this area? Wautoma? Sandy? I need to fish closer to home. Thanks BP P.S even by accident reports are ok. Even the Oak would do.
  23. MuskyBob you may want to rethink that statement. Thats why no one here including myself who has been fishing this area for 45 years has never seen or caught any in the area I mentioned. I did hear of one caught by a charter capt. off the mouth of the Genesee about 8-10 yrs ago. There is definitely not alot of them though , MAYBE a straggler.
  24. Anyone even seen one between rochester west of the oak???
