  1. No...did a trip on Cayuga Sat AM and a short one tonight. Had to stay local because my Mom was in town from NC. Hope to hit the big lake on Saturday.
  2. Nice report Sean! Sorry about the close call with my board! I didn't see the inline planers off your port. Glad you had a great day and you set a great example of enjoying your passion of fishing while including your family!
  3. Took a friend from work out of Dean's Cove Saturday am. I hadn't fished the Sheldrake area yet this year so I wanted to give it a shot. We set up two stickbaits off the planers and two riggers with long leads to work a shallow program. From 5-6 we marked TONS of bait and fish from 20-30 FOW but we couldn't buy a hit. At 6 we slid out to 160-180 pulling the planer lines trading for the Wires and the screen was blank but we boated 8 fish between 6-8:30. 3 times we got a fish letting the wires out or setting the rigger...they were hitting pretty aggressive out deep. We worked north to pick my dad up at the launch at 9 and then ran back to the point which was now busy with traffic. We managed 4 more hits (only boating 1) until 12:30 when we pulled lines. Hope to maybe sneak out this evening but we'll see. Here's Chris with a few from the day's catch. He told me every recipe he planned on using for his fillets. It's fun to fish with a guy who enjoys it so much!
  4. Looks like it was a good time! I have to start getting my girls out there!
  5. There's a thread on here somewhere with the league dates. Can someone link it? I can't seem to find it!
  6. Be prepared to run south a couple miles to where the lake widens. The whole North end is pretty shallow. If you fish the shelf where the lake starts to widen/deepen you should do pretty good.
  7. Thanks Woody. I look forward to getting out of hughes again soon with Brett (Little Brown). Finders, I did notice some hooks on the bottom in 130-170 FOW...I assume they are Lakers. I'm running some old Mag 10's and I get a lot of blow back when I go after those deep fish. I usually don't target lakers on the big lake bc I can just hit the fingers (close to home) for those. rdebadts, I'll shoot you a pm w/ my cell. It'd be good to have a contact out there. I bounce between Sodus and the fingers in the summer. Add time with kids, wife, etc. and it's hard to keep up with the fish! I didn't have high expectations Sun. night...I know the eve. trips are usually slower than the morning. Can't wait to get back out again!
  8. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6/5 Time on Water:3 hours Weather/Temp:80 sunny Wind Speed/Direction:3 mph NW Waves: flat Surface Temp: 50 Location:NW of channel LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 1 Total Boated:0 Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Glow Frog Trolling Speed: 2.6 Down Speed: 2.6 Boat Depth: 200-70 Lure Depth: wires out 120 and 180 riggers down 40 and 60 w/ sliders ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Saw reddbats report and motored out to 200 FOW last night at 5pm. Set up and trolled south...screen was pretty barren until 105 FOW took a hit on the slider....was gone before we got to the pole. marked a big hook down 55 over 80. As we were pulling in I marked bait on the bottom in 55 FOW. That was my first trip out of Sodus this year...had a good time for a short trip. If I were going to day, i'd definately work that 40-110 FOW Probably should have run some stuff up higher...seems like it's a steelie bite.
  9. I'm on the fence...not excited about going all the way to Watkins but it does make sense to have the ceremony at weigh in.

  11. Had a great time as well. It was good to meet everyone briefly on Friday...it sucks the rain kicked us out because I would have enjoyed chatting with more of you. Thanks to Mark for organizing the friendly contest and to Nick for the idea. I had a crew member back out so I was running 4 rods all weekend fishing with my Dad. Friday: 8/9 We marked a ton of fish and bait along the east side in 20-30 FOW from the very north end all the way to Sampson. The fish in front of Sampson were the most active for us. The fish seemed to like white patterns the best. Saturday: 14/15 Started at Reeder creek and trolled south to Sampson on the east side working the bait and fish we worked on Friday. Glow patterns early until the sun came up and switched to the standard green stuff. Sunday: 5/7 Sunday I worked high banks north trying to get those bait and fish to go I marked on friday in 20-30 FOW and they still wouldn't go (for us). I threw everything under the sun at them. Tried out deep without any success and worked a pocket of fish in front of Sampson with Double D to save the day pulling 5 fish at the end of the day. (He felt bad for me after hearing me cry on the radio! ) Fish seemed to like black and green patterns. Monday: 5/11 Had the dropsies. Tried those inside fish early but couldn't get them to go so I slid out working the really deep water and pulled some bigger fish. They still liked the darker patterns for us. Congrats to Balls Deep on the 11.5# Laker Anyone else on the board place?
  12. Sounds good Jason! Hit me up on the radio or cell. I should be out for my shakedown. Have a few wiring odds-n-ends yet but i'm taking a half day Thursday to address those...hope I can get my work done in between the t-storms!
  13. I thought buck was on our team! OK Seneca...this weekend's our time to shine!
  14. "3 lbs" ..... If you put a pound of lead sinkers in his belly LOL! You better take it easy or I'll post that pic of you running 3 rods!
  15. I'm jonesing for this weekend BAD! Dropped the motor in on Saturday and just got my "no oil pressure" situation figured out. Phew! turns out I forgot the shaft between the oil pump and the distributor! Still have a little of this and that to do...looks like Friday will be my shakedown! Talk about cutting it close! Looking forward to seeing everyone at Sampson. I'll probably be using my dad's slip at the North End State park but will be dropping in.
  16. Spent Saturday Installing a Reman. in the boat but Sunday after dinner I did sneak out with Wayne for an hour and a half. My side of the boat pulled a 3 lber Glad buck pulled the weight for our team this week!
  17. I'm on Seneca...think I stopped and met you at Sampson last year. Give a ring any time! -Jason
  18. "Cayuga Lake’s lakers are originally from the Seneca Lake strain" Check out that last sentence in that article! Looks like you Cayuga guys got us Seneca guys to thank for those Lakers!
  19. Zeke, I think we saw you guys. We were talking about how evenly paced you guys were trolling until we realized you were being towed. From a distance it looked like you were side by side. Wayne, That was some TOUGH fishin! Good for you for throwing up a post though. Shows we take the good with the bad! Had a really fun time...I got a couple of those Mixed veggies on the way to the house...that 1 little spoon took 3 out 4 hits on a tough day! -Jason
  20. BTW...I'm in for big fish friday...I live a few miles from Sampson so I'll stop by to make the rounds, steal lures, etc.
  21. Are you having a "Senior moment"? Has always been Memorial Day weekend....Memorial Day is always last Monday in May.
  22. Nice going Kevin! Thanks for posting! I've yet to make it out on Seneca this year...this is crazy! Nice to know they are there though. One of my 3 girls gets motion sick like her mom...I have to find a way to work that out!
