  1. nick, We were marking a few here and there but the bait seemed to have moved out. A lot of other boats were working 50 FOW but my screen was blank weaving in and out of them. I'm headed to the Outer Banks for the Holiday week so we'll give it a shot again when I get back. Tight Lines!
  2. Sorry for the late post. I have dial-up at home and usually wait till I get to work. I got out with my dad on Sat. morning and turned up a SKUNK! My pride is hurt a little bit! I tried from 30-120 FOW and could not move a rod. I did spend a lot of time cleaning weeds from the lines! I had so many weeds on the lines that they popped the rods from the releases! Gotta love that south wind! Still in all it is great to be fishing with my dad. -Jason
  3. http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacation ... 34674.html This one is a couple miles north of Dean's Cove and I see the 2nd week of September is available. Being that you are going after Labor Day I would call and see if you can get a lower price for "out of season" Wayne, This is the white cottage with 8 windows.
  4. Nice!...Were you jiggin? (I wish I could find a little "emoticon" that dances an Irish Jig to insert here)
  5. Great post! You had me laughing pretty hard!
  6. Greg, Will do!....and yes the sport is pricey but it looks like you are setting yourself up "right" to start. Kevin, Seneca perch are easy! Launch in the spring out of Sampson and motor about 1/4 mile north to the pack of boats, make sure to drive real close to there bows so your prop cuts their anchor lines and moves them out of YOUR spot! Stu, most were around 7-9" Had one at 11" and threw back a few dinks. Certainly not those Seneca 15"ers!
  7. I took the kids perch fishing today just south of Dean's. Nothing beats the wide-eyed exitement when that bobber goes under! Reminded me of fishing with my Dad as a kid in front of my Grandma's cottage on Keuka Lake. Toward the end my wife was grabbing the pole away from the kids so SHE could reel them in! BTW....we were in 18 FOW and fish were 10-12 ft down...jigs/fatheads
  8. Nice report! I saw the boat hooked up and ready to go in the driveway when I drove by Sat. Night. (I'm up on Yellow Tavern Rd. so I go that way on the way home from the lake). Nice ride! -Jason
  9. I went up in the spring for some Browns...we got into a few but it was tough fishin. Gauging from the I-Bay and Sodus reports it's about time to make my way up there.
  10. Got out from 7-9 with a friend who lives a cpl miles north of Dean's Cove. We trolled south to the Cove and North again workin 95-140. (1) 6# Laker took a Hammer Fly behind a Glow Frog Spin Dr. on the wire out 300. Took salmon on the Leadcore and a cheater with small spoons. Lost one of the cheater at the back of the boat and had a release with nobody home. Finished up 3/5 (Sorry for the lack of pics...I've been slackin with the camera!) Can't wait to see the results from the league week 2!
  11. Chris, Is it "ethical" to throw back a fish that is dead because it was brought in sideways? At some point we have to use some good 'ole commen sense! This law was created for people who "snag" or "lift" fish. I'm NOT going to throw back a dead fish because it was not hooked in the mouth! At the same time, I'm NOT going to try & hook a fish anywhere but the mouth. Laws are not perfect and therefore cannot be relied upon for morality or ethics. Respectfully disagreeing, Jason
  12. Nice job! It was great meeting you in Geneva at the launch for the Mud-Chix derby. Keep up the good work!
  13. Great report! Thanks for the invite!...I wish I hadn't of had those dinner plans!
  14. Nice report Double D! I may have to take you up on your offer and check out some of that "western water"
  15. Thanks guys...I can't wait to check this rig out. Rabbit, That pic of the kid holding up that fish cracks me up! He must have had a blast! I can hear him at school; "I caught a fish half the size of me!"......"sure ya did"
  16. Nice job! How are you running those peanut lures? I picked up a couple of those spin-n-glows and I assume you just tie a treble behind it?
  17. Wayne, It was great getting out with ya and I look forward to doin it again! Sorry to bail at the launch so fast but I had to check on things at the shop. I couldn't believe those little landlocks hitting the sliders right behind the boat! Tight Lines, Jason
