  1. Way to go! And thanks for including the story! I love those rage broadheads! I put a lil meat in the freezer myself on the opener morning....rack doesn't compare but I tend to take what comes by.
  2. I haven't been fishing for them this year yet. I may make it out tomorrow as my dad always likes to cast some spoons right before we pull his boat from the water. We usually drift over the deep side of the weed beds in front of Roy's marina casting dare-devils.
  3. Awesome! I've got to try that some time! My Mom lives about 40 min from the Outer Banks. Did you rent equipment?
  4. .....And of course it helps to pay off the fish-gods with a probe and ball! Ooops! di I say that out loud?
  5. That pic is deceiving! Looks WAY bigger than a 26 1/2# fish! Great catch! Of course this coming from somebody that couldn't tell the difference between a King and a steelie! viewtopic.php?f=14&t=12866
  6. They also sell bait at the convenience store next to the canal on RTE 96 just south of 5&20.
  7. You're right....I don't know how I missed that! Thanks!
  8. Fishing Report :Jason / Little Brown ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):8-13 Time on Water:5pm-9pm Weather/Temp:Hot Wind Speed/Direction:Suttle West? Waves: 1/2 ft Surface Temp: 74 Location:Hughes LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 9 Total Boated:3 Species Breakdown:Kings Hot Lure: Mag Green NBK Trolling Speed: 2.5 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 180 Lure Depth: 60-80 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== I got out with Brett and his brother Don aboard their boat "Little Brown". We set up two wires-divers with green-glow Spin Drs and Green-glow A-Tom-ic Flys and two green NBKs on the riggers in about 80 FOW and pointed her North. As we hit 180 FOW we had a release with nobody home on the rigger. We noticed some weed patches, small sticks, and a little garbage between 180-190. We also marked some bait and a couple fish in this area. We kept going north to see if the screen would get any better and from 190-230 it was blank so we swung her around and checked lines realizing we'd been towing a skipper King. Just as we hit 186 FOW the rigger fires and Brett reels in a King around 10#. We let that one go to grow and as we hit the 170 ish mark the Wire diver fires with this 16# King. We did 2 circles and had 5 more hits with nobody home 1 of which slammed the wire rod but didn't get hhoked. All the remaining hits came on a south troll. Hope this helps give a starting point for some weekend warriors! Good luck and tight lines! Thanks Brett and Don for getting me out!
  9. Just look at ERABBIT's posts.....He launches out of Lodi point....I think he's been having better luck on the other side trolling south.
  10. Weeds weren't too bad. I think it was rough enough to break up the patches. The fleas weren't as bad either. Probably due to the water temp drop?
  11. Nice job Kevin! I'm hoping to make it out some night this week as I'm taking the wife away this weekend for the anniversary (Should have got married in february!).
  12. Sorry for the late report. My computer at home is on dial-up and I just don't have the patience to wait for pages to load! I got out with Jeremy again Saturday AM...It was a little bumpy w/that south wind. I think that wind has changed some things at my end of the lake as surface temp dropped to 68 all over and the fishing was tough! We started in the Belhurst hole it that 80 FOW we did well in earlier in the week and picked up this little guy and a laker about the same size. We dropped a couple fish off the riggers and 1 on the wire (Out 210 on a 2 1/2 setting) 140-160 FOW (Green NBK Spoon). We stopped into Roy's to stretch our backs (That little rowboat is brutal w/a south wind) and set up on a north troll along the west side where we picked up some average size lakers ina bout 90 FOW on a greasy chicken wing spoon. Wires only took one hit all day and the green spinny couldn't buy a bite! Jeremy dropped a nice fish off the rigger because that pretty bracelet on his right hand got wrapped around the reel-handle after setting the hook!
  13. Nice job and great pics! It was good to meet you guys at the dock Sat. AM. We had a blast fishing with Frank and Patty aboard Home Office. Hopefully we'll make it back to the east-end again soon! -Jason
  14. Nice take!....Good morning of fishing.
  15. Launched at the chamber with my buddy Jeremy around 7pm and set up in the trench in between the pumphouse and the belhurst riding the 80-85 FOW line. The south wind brought some 3 footers and lots of weed patches. Had a green NBK and an Alewive spoon on the riggers down 60 and 72 on a south troll...we hooked up 4 times in the first 1/2 hr off the riggers. Cut over toward high banks and zig-zagged between 80-120 only to pick up 1 more on the green NBK....The lake laid right down around 8 and the bite slowed with it. So we finished 5/5 for a decent evening trip.
  16. Way to go Hans...I'd have taken a slow pick over working! Going to give Oswego a try tomorrow w/Bretter aboard Home Office....Ok go ahead say it!....Boat Sl*t!
  17. Weeds weren't bad at all. I've been fishing Ontario quite a bit so it was nice to take a break and fish close to home/spend some time with my dad. We were fishing the East side and the wind was out of the NorthWest....Maybe the weeds had already been blown south.
  18. Nice job guys! I had my company picnic Sat...so couldn't make it but look forward to next year! Sounds like a doosy of a brown!
  19. I had to help my dad trailor his boat last night. So I brought the little boat to do some fishing. This little guy made it in spite of my thumb slipping into his gills! We ran 2 rigger rods (Stinger Glow-frog and a Green/Yellow Flutter spoon) and 2 Wire divers (White/Glow Fly & Mnt Dew/Green krinkle fly) pulled a laker and dropped one on the glow frog and the white Spinney Pulled a brown on the flutter spoon...My dad was laughing pretty hard trying to hold it! So we finished 3/5 from 7:30 to 9:30 Nice night to be on the water
  20. Nice report!....Ran a little south to get away from the north end traffic?
  21. Nice report! Glad to see the boat is back in order! How'd you make out with that?
  22. Launched by myself out of Dean's Cove around 4:30ish (pm). I marked fish on the bottom around 40 ft and the bottom of the ridge around 95-100. I also marked a few up top 14-20 ft down over 100 FOW. Checked lines after 20 min and the fleas were so bad I called it quits. I couldn't even whip them off the wire! Had to flick them off by plucking the wire like a guitar string. Lady at the dock said "What's all over your shirt?"
