  1. Zebedee Fishing Report Jason Martin / Boat Name:Zebedee ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):5/3 Time on Water:3 Weather/Temp:Overcast Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Glass Surface Temp: 47.5 Location:Hughes LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 2? Total Boated:1 Species Breakdown:Perch Hot Lure: Black/Silver J9 Trolling Speed: 2.5 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 5-15 FOW Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== I'm still trying to put the finishing touches on Zebedee's engine swap so Brett and I were out in the little tin boat. Had a short-hit off the planer that disappeared when I grabbed the rod. We did manage to snag a small perch off the boards! Does that kick the skunk off the boat? Warm and clear water made for some tough fishing...before we got blown off the lake when the wall of rain came through. Hoping to have the big boat ready for the weekend. -Jason
  2. Way to go Hans!...or is it Fish-Swami? I'm sure Jason's boy is hooked for life after reeling in that king!
  3. Great job and Great story! I felt like I was in the boat with you as I was reading! The suspense of netting a fish that big at the boat!...Phew!
  4. Like the "on the water" avatar of the new boat! Way to go!
  5. Fishing Report Zebedee ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):4-30 Time on Water:6 hrs Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction:south Waves: none Surface Temp: 45 deg Location:Hughes LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 8 Total Boated:5 Species Breakdown: 4 Browns and 1 Smallmouth Hot Lure: Black n Silver sticks and spoons Trolling Speed: 2.4 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 5-15 Lure Depth: 3 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Got out this am with Bretter. It's great to be back on the big lake! Silver and Black seemed to be the color of choice. We hooked up with my first triple on browns..what a blast! 2 on the riggers and lost the one off the planer. No stained water to speak of...fish were scattered. Good luck to everyone in the LOC! -Jason ====================
  6. Nice!...You headed up to Olcott? I was out of Hughes this AM. We hit 5/8 on Browns. It was great to be back on the big lake! Good Luck up there! -Jason
  7. Nice! I should actually encourage you to stay with that copper so it slows ya down! Just try and leave a few spots on the board for us average fishermen this year! I haven't made it out on Seneca yet this year. It won't be long though. I have the boat almost ready. Just have to hook up the shift cable and electric, cross the fingers and turn the key! Brett & I will be in the little tin boat tomorrow out of Hughes. Wind's forecasted out of the south so we should be fine. Look forward to seeing you out there. -Jason
  8. LOL!....And all along I was bringing my own! No wonder you were looking for fishing buddies out of your area!
  9. Great post! Blue Ghost definatly has the market on the North End! I just can't step into the dark ages with that copper! You might try a heavier spoon for your riggers. The suttons are made for a slow troll. You are probably up around 2-3 MPH to get the action out of those spin Dr.s which will make those suttons just spin out. If you throw a Northern King in a 28 size or a michigan stinger, you might find you like the action a little better. -Jason
  10. Nice fish guys! Can't wait to get up there with Frank again this year! I have my season LOC ticket so if you guys need a fill-in, I'd be happy to make the drive up. Till then I'll be hammering the Sodus area. -Jason
  11. Way to go! Must have fished the west side? I came down 96A around lunch and saw some heavy white-caps out there.
  12. I don't usually fish for perch but hear that guys do well in front of the pink cottage just south of Roy's Marina. Good luck and let us know!
  13. I have never fished it between October and April as I'm usually into hunting over the winter but I can give you a starting point. There are a number of launches: The chamber of commerce is free right next to the Ramada but might be washed in this time of year. The Seneca Lake State park is just East of the chamber of commerce...they have a launch in an offshoot of the canal...problems here can be ice. Your best bet is Roy's Marina about 4 miles south of Geneva on rte 14 (West side of the lake). They charge $5 to launch and they sell bait. Go straight out from roys and point the boat north...when you hit the point where the railroad tracks round the corner next to the lake(Geneva Country club) point the boat East as the depth comes up quick. If you zig-zag through there you should figure something out. Good luck! I can't wait to hear how you do...maybe I'll have to sneak out there early this year myself!
  14. In the springtime when I target Browns in the shallows, they usually cost me about $15 per trip as they mangle my stickbaits! My Dad likes to target them in the fall...we'll usually throw Daredevils over the deep edge of a weedbed and catch one after the other....most Pike we've caught are in the 30's for length...I've heard of some high 40's being caught though! Both lakes are abundant of Pike.
  15. Splitshot...You're an animal! Who do you make reel in that 600 FT copper set-up?!
  16. I think you should be able to pick your fishing days at random so we don't have conflicting schedules. I'm not sure how that would work...maybe have a thread on here where we declare a "league day" ahead of time for our own trip. ex: Zebedee will be fishing this coming Thursday for team 1. That will allow us to fish the weather, around personal schedules, etc. Do we allow a cancellation /remake for freak storms, wheel fell off my trailer on the way to the launch, etc?
  17. Yeah if you open this up to seneca lake then I'll be in...I live in between the lakes but am closer to the Geneva launch so I fish that mostly. Maybe best two days per week? Are you going to do a point system? Or measure the fish?
  18. Then your boat will look pretty funny with about twenty of us packed under that hard-top! Now we just have to figure out a 40 rod spread and how to split the winnings! How early do you have to be to get a site? I see they're sold out already!
  19. Whatever happened to "may you be blessed with a prosperous new year!" and blessings of such! Geesh!
  20. Over the last year or so I've seen some of you post about keeping a journal for the DEC. Can anyone give me some info on this? I think I'd like to participate this year.
  21. Nice job! Any deer with a bow is a trphy! I love the 'chocolate' colored rack!
  22. Awesome Buck! Got to love it when it all comes together! What a tribute to your buddy also! Thanks for sharing!
  23. Can you look at the "can" inside the box and count the pop rivets? My dad like to use these and I made him one but it was only a 1-spring motor so it doesn't work well. If it has three rivets pm me.
