  1. There is no longer a launch in Dresden. Your best bet will be to head for Severn launch.
  2. I will take some pictures of what I got and post them here for you. Mike
  3. Greg, I mailed them out this morning. Let me know when you get them. Mike
  4. I'm pretty sure this is the email I used a few years ago to sign up for the diary - [email protected] I found this telephone number too, (585) 226-2466.
  5. Ugh...I was hoping no one noticed . Went to bed thinking the sox would pull it off and the yankees had it under control. I figured at the very least there would be a one game playoff today. Got the alert that the sox lost and still felt good. I guess I missed the alert that the Rays beat the yankees in extra innings. Well, being a fan of the game, I will still watch either Rangers, Tigers or Rays go to the World Series for the American League. Raising my son for the same heartache... There's always next year...
  6. Awesome video that I have never seen. Thank you for posting.
  7. Here is the size I boated a few weeks ago on Seneca after I trolled through the bait...
  8. Headed out of Severne at 6pm with my son for a quick trip. Set rods right away and trolled south. Couldn't find bait or fish anywhere but took a shot on a rigger set at 75', no one home. Turned around and headed north and ran into a pile of weeds . Got everything clean and got north of the launch and found some bait in 100 - 200 FOW with no marks. Decided it was time to start picking up when the rigger with a green dolphin SD and BW hot mess fly set at 55' fired...finally fish on for Liam! With dad's help he boat a very nice laker. The smile says it all I couldn't find my scale and didn't measure his fish since it took him a bit to land it and I wanted to get it back in in the water. Got his laker back in the water and the fish finder was full of bait and marks. Decided to drop the rods back in with no takers Liam changing out spoons As we are headed home Liam says dad I will never forget tonight's fishing trip...
  9. Launched from Severne about 5:30am. I was going to be a quick trip because the rain was on the way. Set the rods and headed south. Stayed between 150 FOW and 400 FOW. Lot of bait from 30' - 70' No takers so I headed north and picked up 1 decent laker 50' down with a green dolphin spin Dr and big weenie hot mess fly. Got north of the launch and the fish and bait were gone. Headed south again and the same rigger fires...no one home. Get the rod reset and the dipsy divers gets hammered...no one home. Its getting dark out so I head north and pick up a decent landlock on the same rigger but at 65' now. Skies kind of get bright so I decide to stick it out a little longer. Push out to 300' and then decide it's time to go and the rigger fires once again. A few good runs and I thinking this is no Keuka laker that I'm accustom to. Gain some line back at out it goes again. Gain it back and out it goes again. Finally the fish hits the surface and I'm able to get the rainbow to the net. Wow! Got dark out so I decided to call it a quick morning. Weeds were not too bad and the fleas were ok.
  10. Way to go Ed. I may just have to try Seneca next week...
  11. Good luck. I will be out there too...unfortunately I will be working and not fishing.
  12. Launched from the state park at 5:30am with more wind that the weatherman predicted. Headed north and picked a small laker right way on 200' copper with a chrome and green dot SD with a BW pole dancer #2 fly. Got the copper reset and while i was turning the boat the rigger fired but I was not paying attention so after a short fight it was gone. Decided to fight the wind and waves so I headed south and the rigger that was down 60' fires again, another small laker on green dolphin SD and BW cornbread fly. Got sick of the wind and waves so I headed north again. Picked up another small laker on the rigger. Wind picked up so I called it a morning at 8:30am. Heading into the launch a pleasure boater decided he needed to dock first and cut me off . I'm pretty sure he never saw me. Got the boat on the trailer and started to pull out and watched a truck and trailer come down the launch the wrong way at me...ugh. No problems with fleas and the weeds were not too bad.
  13. I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I keep a Keuka Lake fishing diary for the DEC. At the end of the year I receive stats on what every other person who keeps a Keuka Lake diary caught. The browns, rainbows, and salmon numbers in the diary are low while the lake trout numbers are high. Last time I caught a brown trout on Keuka Lake was 6/6/2006. I remember the day well, a buddy and I boated over 30 fish (lake trout, 2 brown trout and 1 perch) in 5 hours of fishing on the east side just north of the college. My brown weight 6 pounds 6 ounces and his brown was 10 pounds and a few ounces. All fish came on orange or yellow evil eyes.
  14. There were no other boats on the lake except fisherman. When I got to the launch the pleasure boaters were starting to launch so it was a good time to get off the water.
  15. Fished from 5:30am - 8:30am, north and south of the state park launch. Found lots of fish in the north end but couldn't stay there because of the weeds and waves. Picked up and went a few miles south of the launch and deep. Ended the morning 8 for 11 on lakers....all small and 1 small-mouth bass. Riggers were parked at 60', 80, 120' and 140' and all took fish. 200 Copper took a few fish and the bass. Couldn't get a bite on spoons, hot fly was Big Weenie Hot Mess and green dolphin SD. No flea problems which was surprising.
  16. I should be headed out Sunday morning and will post later that evening. I'm usually on the north end of the west branch.
  17. Here is a picture of some Finger Lakes fleas from a few years ago. At the time I was using 15 lb mono. Now I use 30 lb and I do not have too much trouble with the fleas. I did find a small amount of fleas on Keuka yesterday. [ Post made via iPod ]
  18. Keuka 6/10 Fished from 5:30am - 8:00am. Launched from the state park and headed north. Quickly picked up three small lakers off a mix veggies cheater and another on the rigger and blue dolphin parked at 55'. Picked up four more lakers on green dolphin Spin Dr and Big Weenie hot mess near Camp Good Days down 55' over 80 FOW. Largest laker went 21 1/2" Would have love to stay longer but had to get home for a school function for my son. Keuka 6/13 Got the kids on the bus and had rods in the water by 8:30am. Headed to the same spots as Friday but no takers and a blank screen. Turned around, headed south pass the state park launch and deep. Found lots of good marks 50' down and 140' down over 160 FOW. Put one rigger at 55' with a blue dolphin cheater and the other rigger with BW cornbread and chrome with green dots Spin Dr. Picked up four lakers on the deep rigger and then they seem to shut down. In between the deep lakers I was able to boat a beauty of a landlocked salmon on the blue dolphin cheater. Came out of the water just behind the boat which was pretty neat It went 21" and quickly put back in the water to grow. Off the water just before lunchtime.
  19. Congrats and great name! Same name as my 1st mate
  20. Launched from the state park at 8:30am and started trolling south from the launch. Fish were deep, 120' and deeper over 170 FOW. Went 4 for 8 on lakers. Everything came on a chrome with green dot SD and big weenie corn bread fly. Rigger was set between 120' and 165'. Speed was slow, 1.7 - 1.9 mph SOG. Off the water at 11:00am. I've been having a rough time on Keuka so it was nice to finally boat some fish. Largest fish was 24".
