  1. Mountain Dew SD with a big weenie fly. The green hammer fly from big weenie is a steady producer for me. Blue dolphin, green dolphin, toxic shock fly from big weenie. I will snap some pictures for you. Also if you do a search for posts by Jason he will have a lot of info for you. He does a number on fish with SD and big weenie flies. Others have had luck with A-tom-mik flies, I'm just starting with the SD/fly program. I have had no luck with my Seth Green rig this year. Normally I can guarantee fish always on the bottom leader but that rig has been nothing to write home about.
  2. Do you have to be a resident of the town or village to get the swipe card? I use spin doctors and flies on Keuka. I'm just getting into using flies and it has been pretty good. I've only caught lakers on the flies and LL on spoons.
  3. Decided for a quick trip to Keuka this evening with my son. Launch from the state park about 6pm. Set the riggers for my son, had some streakers so I shortened and lengthened the leaders back from the ball...no takers Switch spoons a few times but still no takers. Took one 6.2 lb laker on a green hammer big weenie fly behind a mountain dew spin dr. #2 setting on a black dipsy diver, set out 215'. Surface temp was 76* and 46* 83' down. Didn't find any bait and had no problems with fleas. Weeds weren't too bad...had more problems with the pleasure boaters getting too close.
  4. I think the one in Wayne is next to any old power plant or some sort of building. I don't think there is a dock and very little room to park your trailer and vehicle. I could be wrong. I think mike14837 launches from there.
  5. Never been down there, pretty much stick to the west branch. I took a drive last year to look at the launch in Hammondsport and didn't like the looks of it. It would be a long boat ride from Branchport and it's hard to pass up all the fishing between Branchport and Hammondsport. Occasionally I make it to the bluff and troll back north. How about you?
  6. Awesome job! I'm going to try to be out sunday morning. I've been fishing shallower so I will move out deeper. Did you try the fixed slider with the clip?
  7. I purchased mine from my town office. Took the leap a few years ago and I think it was summer time when I got it.
  8. I should have kept reading. I saw the red typing and went into panic mode. That's good news. Thanks for correcting me. Hope I didn't send anyone else into panic mode. Lifetime licenses for children under 16 can be purchased only at points of sale. What do they mean by points of sale?
  9. From the DEC website - "The new fees will be in effect for purchase of all 2009-10 licenses beginning August 17, 2009" Got my lifetime license a few years ago. I got to hussle to get my son's license now.
  10. I looked at my journal and I have not been on Keuka since the middle of July...been headed to Seneca vs. Keuka. What I heard tonight is the fish are deep and been having ok luck with seth green on the branchport side.
  11. Launch out of Severne this morning at 6:30am. Headed south and the screen was full of bait. Dropped the #1 rigger down to 72' back 20' with a small greasy chicken wing spoon. Got #2 rigger set and #1 rigger fired. Ended up dropping a real good fish because I was trying to move my boat away from another boat coming north. Got #1 rigger back down to 72' back 20' and it fired again. This time I didn't drop a nice sized laker. Off the water at 9am because the kids had Dr. appointments. Lots and lots of bait all over the place south of Severne. No weed problems south of the launch and no problem with fleas. Lots and lots of weeds north of the launch so I didn't spend anytime there. Surface temp was 68*.
  12. What type of fishing line are you using? I bumped up to 30# Ande. I was out on Saturday morning in the same area, 2 LL and 2 lakers. No problem with the fleas but the weeds were horrible the closer I got the Dresden.
  13. Nice job. I planned on going to seneca this morning. When I got up the wind was blowing and raining @ home. Figured it would be rough so I went back to bed. Woke up and the sun was out with a light breeze...figures. Maybe tomorrow. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  14. That's awesome! I really need to get over on Canandaigua Lake soon...
  15. I ran a 5 leader seth green the other night and the fleas were minimal on that rig too. I also enjoy have my kids on board. When my 3 year old son is with me I'm known as the net guy...go get the net dad!
  16. Invasive water species. I don't think you will have a problem bass fishing. After 15 minutes of trolling
  17. Earlier this week they weren't bad during an evening trip by the park. A few weeks ago they were absolutely horrible. The rigger cable and wire divers were full of them. I now run the 30lb ande with a 15lb leader and they were pretty clean.
  18. I've got a couple but have yet to run them. I'm sure jason will have some great info for you/us next time he is on. I can't remember if he used them last time I was out with him. I have to agree that Big Weenie is awsome to deal with!
  19. I don't do any jigging for lakers so I can't help you there but the fleas are bad in the state park area.
  20. Nine Luhr Jensen Dodgers, Size 0 (8"). None of them have scene the water. I bought them a few years ago and they are now taking up space on my boat. $30.00 takes all of them. Buyer to pay shipping but if we are close we can meet someplace. Top row is glow
  21. I couldn't believe how bad the fleas were. I hate using the 20# FF too. Going to get rid of the FF and bump up to 30# mono.
