  1. Went out on Keuka last night at the state park. The weather looked poor for Sunday so the kids and I went out Saturday evening. Took 1 laker on a j-9 black/brown rapala, black dipsy set on #2 out about 150' on wire. My daughter had 2 good hits on her downrigger, down 75' and 120', small yellow/orange honeybee...no takers. All marks were down deep, on the bottom or just off bottom. Didn't mark any bait.
  2. Severne boat launch on Severne Rd off of Rt 14. It's on the west side of the lake. There was a pile of boats in front of the Showboat Motel on Sunday.
  3. Green, green and green for me too. I've run various brands of green flies.
  4. Nick, I got two Okumas in size 30. I bought them last year. PM me if you are interested
  5. I upgraded my humminbird fish finder to another humminbird fish finder and when I was reading the transducer mouting instructions, I need to have the transducer mounted 1/8" from the bottom of the boat. I want to put a transducer mounting plate on my aluminum boat...should I mount the mouting plate flush with the bottom, 1/8" off the bottom or do I have some other option? The new transducer seems to be larger than the older one, so I'm not sure if the new transducer will fit on the older mount.
  6. I use the 9'6" Daiwa Heartland dispy rod. I fish solo I the Finger Lakes from the my 16' Tracker. I don't have trouble landing any fish with the longer fishing rod. I used to use an 8' downrigger rod for my dipsy rods. I definately like the 9'6" vs the 8' dipsy rod.
  7. They have been out on Keuka on the Penn Yan side all week. Some one told me that there was 3" of ice last week. I'm sure it's much thicker by now. Last I knew the ice was well south of the college.
  8. I would be open to any of those dates. Isn't there a derby the weekend after the Seneca Lake trout derby too? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  9. Mike, I also use the 9' 6" Diawa Heartland Dipsey. Great prices on them too. Where do you launch out of when you fish Keuka?
  10. I'll be trolling for bass this season too. I've picked up a few SM bass while trolling. Why is there only the trout and salmon stamp? There are far more bass fishermen over trollers where I fish, so it seems like there should also be a smallmouth and largemouth bass stamp...
  11. Awesome job! I need to remember the camera in 2009.
  12. Chad There is no space to the right...the web page takes up the entire screen. The message box where I type is not the full screen. It is about three-quarters. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  13. Chad, I'm logged into LOU on my blackberry too. This is great! Now I have something to do while I'm in my treestand. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  14. Scotty. Made the jump to Scotty electrics this year and they are great. Before the electrics I had Scotty manuals with all the extra rod holders, mounts and attachments. It was cheaper to go with the Scotty electrics because I had all the extra stuff already.
  15. Mike, I mostly fish Keuka but stay in the Branchport side. I haven't ventured too far from the state park this past weekend and weekend before that. I've been trolling from the state park launch and head south about one mile. I turn around and troll back to the state park. I vary my depth from about 80 FOW to 140 FOW. I've been marking tons of fish and tons of bait 40 feet to 60 feet down. The wire dipsy divers with J9 or F9 Rapals have been the ticket for me. I set them out 100 feet to 200 feet. I figure what the fish want and go from there. I fish solo and lately I have been very busy bringing in fish and setting rods. I have seen a lot of boats going south in the morning, I'm not sure how they are doing but the fishing has been great where I am. Mike
  16. Nick, I'll snap a picture and email it do you this week. I have two small tears in my boat seat. Mike
  17. Count me in too. I haven't been to Canandaigua in years and planned on making the trip next week or so.
  18. Hey those same people were on Keuka Lake this weekend. The good news is that most of them should be gone until next year now .
  19. Thanks Bill. Looks like I'm going with the 777c2.
  20. Bill, I too am looking at upgrading my current humminbird fishfinder. I have been looking at the 777c2 until you mentioned the 747c. The only difference I can see between the two units is the pixels and speed/temp on the transducer. The 777c2 is 640v x 480h vs. 747c 320v vs. 240h. I have the humminbird gps already on my current fishfinder so I get my speed from there. It looks like it comes down to pixels for me. Is it worth an extra $100 for the pixels or will I be ok with lower pixels? Will I notice a difference? Mike
  21. What year did you graduate from Keuka? I'm class of 1996.
