  3. Well, so far Poseidon has set himself against me. First trip up was in a blizzard. 2cd trip, spectacular blow out w/ no place to change out and another skunk, Yesterday another skunk and on the way home the rear cross member on the trailer gives out. Fortunately, I was only a few miles from Mike's Welding in Homer! Oh well -- it;s been good seeing Hank anyway and thanks to him we are ready to get on em when it comes together!!
  4. Good to hear you're back on the fish Shawn. -Andy
  5. Great post! Put my little 16 in at Hanks/ Port Bay on Tuesday solo. S wind kept me spinning around, dropped 2 on inlines couldn't get my boards out. Was hoping to fish Sat & Sun but weather seems to have other ideas so I'll get some farm projects out of the way and then I'll be ready to get on em next week.
  6. Fresh leaders on the flat line rigs! Planning to get things in gear after the weekend.
  7. Mag on inside on 1, regular on 3 outside. Helps to run outside divers on longer rods to get some separation. Multiple cores or coppers can be run off inlines with deeper lines to the inside, use caution on turns when the boards can get close. [ Post made via Android ]
  8. Congrats! Enjoy each day -Andy

  10. NICE! Sounds like an awesome shot of flx winter fishing.
  11. Glen, I expected a stunning account of your guided trip with Scott . I got sucked into a crisis at the plant that lasted most of the week, so I have still not gotten back in gear. Hope you had a good trip out!

  22. Haven't had much of an early season here or up at the farm we hunt in Earlville, but we have spent a bunch of time shooting clays under different, higher patterns & have come to the sobering conclusion that, as usual, the 'nut behind the stock' is far more critical than chokes or loads. Some more prospects should emerge over the next week as my buddies w/the custom chopping business get going in Brisben. I'll give you a call or give me a shout if something looks promising.,-Andy
  23. DDW & what trouthunter said! Also very important to plan routes to stands- mature bucks and dominant does are very careful to not travel towards the direction human tracks are heading ( yeah they don't take much time to figure this out) no matter how careful you are with boots, etc. WTs scent glands are keenest when humidity is high -so plan accordingly.
  24. Ok we shot 3"Fed speed shok, BC FS Steel, and Kent Fasteel through our i-drive Stoegers w/ both the factory mod choke and a Carlson mod choke at 10" circles from 30 yds. Patterns were acceptable w/ all 3 loads with the factory choke and poor with the Carlson.-Andy
  25. Good going Chris! Sounds like a great day. Hopefully we can get some perchin in this fall. -Andy
