  1. Slow morning off the dunes. A few lakers. Did not see anybody doing anything. Lots of Mark's and again no takers. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Fished the last few days morn and evening in front of the dunes 110 to 150 ft. Plenty of Mark's. Not much active fish. A few shakers but mostly browns on spoons. Took today off. Hope the bite improves tomorrow. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. New control board arrived today. No encapsulation on the wave solder joints on the bottom of the board. Can easily de-solder and replace relays. I will be ordering some relays on line to repair the old control board. Everyone with this problem should save their old board since they can be repaired. 4. I have only 1/4 dia rivets. 1/8 to 3/16 and 1/4 to 5/16 grip ranges. If you decide to open the hole to 1/4, I can send a few Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I bought a min $75 order a few years ago. Mostly 1/4 but I may have some 3/16. I will be at camp tomorrow and will check what I have. If I have em I will send 4 or 5. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. If you hold the switch in the up position and it continues to stop after 10 ft or so, it is highly likely it is the internal thermal breaker on the motor. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Update! Was finally able to get thru to Cannon customer service. Control board 3394006 is in stock, $61.79. Total with tax and shipping $75. Ordered it. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Familiar problem. I am helping a neighbor with a 5ST. Same inside as a 10 STX. Wont run after the winter in the garage. I noticed the relays clicking when pushing the switch up and down. Pulled the cover, could feel the relays pulsing when switched. Thought it may be the motor. Pulled wires off the board and jumped to 12v directly. Motor worked fine. Interesting. Checked voltage at the board on the motor terminals with a meter. +12 in one direction and -12 volts in the other. Now very interesting! All looks good. STILL WONT RUN. Drawing on 42 years of experience with machine controls I am betting one or both of the relays are cooked. The contacts allow enough current flow to be useful for the meter check but any large current draw to run the motor will not happen. I have seen this before. This is a common problem on relays used on winches. I haven't taken the board out yet but I am betting the relays are soldered and encapsulated in epoxy on the back side. I have carefully replaced them on an old Mag 10 years ago. This time the neighbor will be buying a new board. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Back in 2008 I sold a similar boat but a 230. Sorry I sold it. Was a very good , reliable and stable rig. Good luck with the sale. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. A few boats up there but widely spread out. Have not seen anybody else with any on. No nets moving. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Currently in 153 ft off dunes. Slow, slow morning. Few Mark's since 6am. No takers Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  14. Had 4 of them years ago. May have manual kicking around. I will look for it. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Decided to try a technique I saw online for cleaning silverware on NK's. Consists of putting aluminum foil in a glass bowl with baking soda, salt and water. The results were amazing. Looks better than new. The 28 in the picture was a mess to start. I let it stand overnite. You can find that technique online. Keep in mind the NK body must have good contact with the foil. 16. Just returned from Reiters. No watermelon type diamond kings. Plenty of plain and taped #4 & 5. I couldn't resist and picked up a few more. Lures are like drugs. Note the prices. I asked if there could be more hidden in the back, no luck. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Yes, Reiters in Sandy Creek. I can stop over there on thurs and check what is available. I bought some about 6 months ago. None that u are looking for though. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Going to need to go out about 10 miles to hit 400 ft from the little salmon river toward the high rocks Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Took two decent steelhead yesterday. Pink stinger 300 ft copper straight in back of boat. On riggers a few Lakers and skippies also. This morn, 1 steelhead same setup and 1 laker on rigger. Even the charter guys I know are chasing lakers for lack of anything else. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Jb weld and epoxy is a waste of time. Take a look at this online, it works great. Fluxless alum brazing with a mappgas or propane torch. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. I was out sat morn and got about the same at 90. Found some high 40's at 120 feet down over 150. Even hit 45 briefly off south dunes. Even so, fishing was poor. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Fished out of the pond this morn. Found 45 degree water at 120 over 150 in front of south dunes. 1 large laker and another hit, that's it. Marked some but no other takers for 5 hrs. Weather and water was perfect so it sure beats working. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Just put a plug in the intake hole for the live well pump. If it is still taking on water it is probably something else Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. Put the boat on th trailer. Fill it with water to just below floor level. You will see water coming from the leaking area Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  25. I have the same riggers and lost a 14 lb weight on the violent stop. Tried the Amisn outfitters snubber. Are quite large and seemed to increase blowback. Bought a Dreamweaver setup that has two twisted snubbers with a knockoff type blacks release between them. Liked it but was a bit too elastic. Took it apart and made two units. One kept the release and on the other I added a release and used large split rings to hook on. Worked well all last season. Has just about the proper elasticity to stop the violent starts and stops on the Cannon. Didnt lose anything else so far. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
