  1. I use an app called Windy. Free for the basic app. You can also get up to date current info with the NOAA bouy data. Specifically bouy 45012 which is off Rochester is useful. You can call a phone number and get wave heights, usually delayed about 50 min. You can also set up online to view the info. Very useful. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Slowing the rate for a .8 in rise per week for 3 weeks = 2.4 inch rise in level. Wow! Genius. These people make me sick!. Cant use my dock, tank you IJC. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Been fishing Mexico area for 40+years. There was some slightly low and slightly high years before IJC implemented its plan. Never any problems with flooding or conversely, not enough water to use your slip. Now problems almost every year since they are in control. No one can deny this!!!!. Now the group in control in Washington wants to control all of your life like the IJC controls lake O. God help us ! Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Looked it up online. Every review said it was a scam. Money taken, no product ever received. One comment was that paypal wouldn't refund because of the untraceable funny name the money was paid to. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Back in my working days we used a adhesive backed foam with a thin lead sheet integrated in it for noise reduction on machine covers. Bought it from McMaster Supply Co. The lead in the foam is the key for significant noise reduction. You can order from McMaster online. Problem is that it is not cheap. Inside of doghouse must be very clean, especially from oil for the adhesive to stick. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Meant to say -other than to turn on the relay coil to close the contacts in the relay Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. The only ground for the relay would be to the coil in the relay. If the relay is clicking then the ground for the relay coil is good. Any ground for the relay would not be involved in the lifting of the out drive other then to close the relay coil. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

    10 hp motor

Oops, $240 a month x 5 months per year is $1200. Per year. Payback is a bit under 3 years with all components I will buy. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

    10 hp motor

Saving 6 gal a fishing day x $4 a gal for ethanol free is $24. 10 days avg a month is $240. Assuming 5 months fishing a year is $720. Payback in about 4 1/2 years. $4 a gallon may be way low for the future considering the lunatics running the country. I am retired and easily avg 10 days a month fishing. Then there is the lack of wear and tear on the main engine and second means of propulsion to be considered. Easy decision Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

    10 hp motor

Amount of fuel used is not the main point but is a consideration. Having a dependable second means of propulsion to get me home in case of a breakdown on the main engine is the most important factor. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Just arrived, now the fun starts Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. I launched at Mexico on Tuesday. The water is extremely low, the lowest I have ever seen it in 40 years of fishing the area. Knowing the Pine Grove launch and using it many years I can guess it is probably useless. In average water level.it is not very deep there. Just mentioning my experience, I have not been there to see it. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  14. Anyone launching out of Mexico lately? Is it useable in this low water? Thinking about tomorrow with the nice weather. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  15. Don't need to get rid of the power assist. There is a cylinder available that goes in where the steering cable attaches. Assist pump and original cylinder stay in place. New cylinder piggy backs the existing one. Sea star has these listed. Only consideration is do you have the room for the cylinder to stick out. A couple of options available if it is tight. Best option is a "balanced system". That is a cylinder with double rods so the volume of hydraulic fluid moving is the same in both directions of turn. Volume on each side of the piston is the same. If you don't have room for piston rod to stick out the opposite side about 8 or 9 inches when extended, then use a single rod cylinder with the appropriate parts to be comparable with an "unbalanced" system. 16. There was a good post about 6 month ago from someone who did that in a Bayliner Cierra, a 23 I believe. Process and parts should be the same. Alpha 1 gen 2 Mercruiser. You can probably find it with a search. Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  19. Ordered a DF9.9BTX3. Will be used for licker on a 3500 lb walk around cuddy. Only mod I may do is open up the restrictor plate slightly if it can't reach 5700 rpm WOT Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Just curious, the specs on the prop differ from the data on the porta boat website and the Suzuki official website. Porta bote spec is a 4 x 9 3/4 x 10. (4 blade 9 3/4 dia with 10 pitch). Suzuki is 4 blade x 10 dia x 5 pitch. That would make more sense. Which one came on your DF 9.9BT ? Sent from my SM-J737V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
