  1. This might be a duplicate post. Thanks Michele, please look at your company email as I have left you an email. As always a pleasure to do business with you and look forward to seeing you down in Watkins. Thank you, Paul
  2. Thanks for the report Chowder, catching fish is always a bonus on the shakedown! Paul
  3. Nice to be out there this year, tired of having the winter blues. 2nd trip, first didnt pan out well with the boat but simple fixes. Now I wont be stressed anymore and ready to enjoy and fish, hopefully! Paul
  4. Launched around 630 at the marina and on the first troll west side to the salt plant had 3 lost 2. Sun came out and fish slowed down for us with one here and there. Around 11-12 overcast skies came back out and had a quad on, Nice! Not a real eventful day other than the Quad. I think we caught around 14 and lost more than a half dozen. Sticks, dipsys, spoons all took fish with the hot combo being a Dew-B spinnie and Atomik fly which took 1/3 of our hook ups. Only a few boats out suprisingly, and we all seemed to pick at them. Most everything was 60-80 FOW from top to 50 down. All LL's but one Laker, no size today, biggest around 5 lbs. Best part of the day was that the boat ran excellent and the fish were just a bonus.
  5. We went there Sat morning and was full of debris, we cleaned out one side of the launch and were going to launch but coming down the canal there was so much floating we decided to go to the marina. Paul
  6. Just curious why he cant launch at the marina?
  7. im looking at launching sat morning as long as the weather doesnt get any worse, south end. frisco you gonna be out again? Sean, how big is your boat??
  8. Nice to know Nick! I stopped there over the winter as one of the guys I work with rants about the store. I am sure they have a bigger selection as we get closer to fishing season. Captains cove is getting a big shipment in and I am going to be stocking up with Michele who is matching some prices and will be down to Watkins Glen Flea market, so it will save on shipping to buy more stuff. Yee ha! Paul
  9. Is this unit a fishfinfer also? I went to the web and saw capabilities and another sight didnt list it where another site listed as a fishfinder also. Thanks, Paul
  10. Excellent, Thanks for the great report Nick! We were planning on going out yesterday and as the weekend got closer the weather report got snottier. Wish we would have pulled up our skirts and went out, sounded like an awesome time!
  11. Northtwin, I had been looking for rod holders and searching all over the internet and came across this website through EBAY, www.fishingandhuuntingusa.com .This guy beat everybody else by 10-20%. I spoke with him over the phone and very nice guy. I bought a couple triple rod holders and he hooked me up on the price and shipping, I had the rod holders in less than a week. I have no affilation with this web site! Paul
  12. Looking for a pair of triple or quad trees on a track system. Would be interested in Traxtech, Cisco, Berts..... or any other comparable brands. Please feel free to Pm me or respond. Thanks, Paul
  13. Nice reports Nick. My goal is to un bury the boat and be ready to go out the last week in Feb. I will give you a shout when we go. I first have to fix the drain plug recepticle. Paul
  14. Thx for all the responses. I am going to check out all the big names and figure out what I like best, it sounds like everybody is happy with the big names. I just saw on E-Bay the Great lakes planers rod holders for a very reasonable price but you usually get what you pay for. Nick I might get in touch with you one of these days and check out the Bert's. Paul
  15. I have been searching for rod holders this winter for my boat. With somewhat of a budget, I have found Greatlakes rodholders quad tree on a track system for a decent price. Does anyone have these and what are your likes/dislikes with this setup. I like the cannons, and heard a lot said about the new cannons but they are a lot more pricey and I have a few more things I would like to buy for the boat. I have also been looking at used rod holders Big Johns, cannon's among others with or without the track system but I havent found much online. Any thoughts preferences what everybody uses and their likes dislikes. Should I just suck it up and pay for Cannons with the track system. The ones on my boat now are Tite Loks and I NEED to upgrade! Paul
  16. Nice report Nick, getting antsy! Thinking about taking my boat and just running the kicker.
  17. Double D, Wish you would have been able yo meet us out there, had a great time. Next time I get up to the Oak I will let you know in advance so hopefully we can work the waters together again. A guy I work with launched out of Rochester and on Fathers Day is 79 year old father caught a 28 lb king. Its hot up there right now. Paul
  18. I 2nd Captains Cove, stay there everytime I go to Oak Orchard. Nice, clean, reasonable. Only complaint if any would be that it takes 15 minutes to get to the lake and I have to put my top down to get under the bridge but well worth it. Michelle is great. She reopened just the other night so we could get some ice for a fish going to the taxidermist. Paul
  19. Gene, I am with ya on "the best I have ever done", The Hoes and Heads were the hot bite on friday morning. and then some meaty kings started to show fri evening through sat morning. Paul
  20. Woody, Boat is awesome, I just love how everything is set up in the boat, and handles very nice in waves, I added a 9.9 4 stroke kicker last year and upgraded to a 350(not by choice). How everything east of Rochester? We still need to get together, hopefully this year. 711Skwerlz,I see your down my way, we need to get together and make a trip up there, no expert, but I try to find the reports on water depth and go from there. This week didnt know much so just started in 70 fow and found fish with the rods rather than ff, so we tried to stay on that line. Speak with guys on the radio, ussually someone is out there from LOU. I dont have a down speed and temp yet so if its slow I try to parrallel with a charter, and listen to the radio FX,Your one of the guys, through your reports, that has helped. Thank you.
  21. Bruce, Friday evening we were also out there and very productive in only a couple of hours from 6-830 pm, we were around 24-26 line just west of port so we must have been right in the same area, 24 ft Penn Yan white and moroon. Nice night to be on the water. Paul
