  1. Those are pretty stiff Penn boat rods. They all have Senator reels. Those are great reels that will last for a lot of years. They can easily be used for meat rods
  2. I think that spray on bedliner with an aluminum floor underneath will get boiling hot in those windless quiet summer trolling days.
  3. No, but they will have been taken away along with the body of water that they are in. The fish themselves stay much in the same place relative to the body of water that they are in.But the body of water itself has moved away. The trick is to find out where the body of water has moved to.
  4. In summer, the north wind will push warm surface water to the south side of the lake. The more warm water is pushed south, the more it will pile up on the south shore and push the colder water away under and northwards from the south shore. Sometimes you will find 70 degree water at 150 feet down on the south side, while the surface water on the north side will plummet to 42 degrees, because the warm water that was blown away is replaced by cold water that comes up from the depths of the lake. That is only one out of many other things that happen , because there always are a ton of other factors to take into account. The middle of the lake usually is more stable than the coastline.
  5. The bay is small enough and it’s very easy to see where the boats are. I think that you are just trying to see if you can get someone to make a fool out of himself. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. In one of the meetings with the DEC Steve Lapin(?spelling) mentioned that increased pen raised salmon has a dramatic effect for better survival and these salmon do tend to stay closer to their pen river. At the same time he said that increasing the number of pen raised fish , will lower the the other stocking numbers in order to keep a proper balance in the water. He also said that he does not mind giving more fish for the pens as long as he can lower the other regular stocking accordingly. The regular stocked fish does not have a home river because they never were in a river when they smolted and chances are that they will go to the water where they were spawned, but they have no reason to return to or stay near their stocking river. On the other hand the pen raised fish does. I think that you western guys should ask for more pen raising stock and accept the resulting decrease of fish of regular stocking that will swim away anyway. Overall, you would be better of. Did you ever think of putting pens in the Niagara river thereby creating a west end natural reproduction river not unlike the east end salmon river ?
  7. That is very true. We have much the same problem on the east end where we have to wait until the middle of June for the Salmon to show up in good numbers
  8. I personally love the Penns. Tell me what your plans are. I do have Cannon Mag15s right now,but I do think that Penn 820s are better.

  10. The way I understand the term, it is inferior engineering because it is the work of an African or at that level. In my book that is not kosher.

  13. I mostly agree with what you say. I do not like the the "Afro Engineered" thing. I hoped that as Americans we were beyond that. As for the lemon law, it only kicks in after the the dealer has made several sincere efforts to repair a recurrent problem, so it will not work just yet. I hope that it is just some easily repairable bits of sloppy workmanship. The one thing that boat makers do not like is having their poor workmanship discussed on a lot of boating websites, because a lot of people who buy boats will read the comments in these chat rooms. If you call the warranty number ,you should mention that you post not only on this website, but also on "The Hull Truth" and "I-Boats". That usually motivates them to do the right thing.
  14. The volunteers in the Credit River hatchery (Mississauga) do produce a lot of steelhead. Maybe that has some influence on the alewives in the western basin
  15. These days nobody controls the media and their is opinion tailored advertizement driven "news" for everybody's taste. Public Radio and BBC are probably the only sources that do not mix news with opinion. Usually the loudest and most extreme radio and TV "News Shows" are the least trustworthy because their "Anchors" are in it for the money and they will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to make more money
  16. None of us were there. I do believe that she spoke the truth. I also believe that testosterone crazed drunks grow up and grow out of stupid behavior and into more or less decent human beings. Usually after their wives teach them a lesson or two and specially after they get vulnerable daughters. My bone with Cavanough is that he has a history of partisan political activity. I want my judges to be totally non-partisan and I do not trust him to be so.
  17. I do believe that she spoke the truth. She obviously had been traumatized. What worries me more is that, in the dorms of a lot of testosterone and alcohol fueled fraternities, there is the same stuff going on even today. I wonder why the colleges have not put a stop to this and local police forces insist on looking the other way instead of enforcing the drinking age laws. Both my daughters have their stories. One day they too will tell them.
  18. Nobody disputes those facts. But I am thinking about buying property in Costa Rica and enjoying my retirement down there.
  19. Like it or not ,but at this point upstate is supported by downstate
  20. That is really very improbable and the statement above belongs in infowars.

  22. Congratulations, do you want a medal?
  23. You realize that the same goes for the guy in the white house.
