  5. Mike you made me chuckle at the thought of those Big Johnson t-shirts. We all had 'em years ago and back then everyone thought it was funny! What happened??? There is just way too much PC in this country and everyone takes themselves too serious. Lighten up people!
  6. LOU Brother Spoonfed answered a question posted by someone ELSE on a board that is supposed to be helpful. Then you got all up in his face when he tried to be helpful. The reaction you got was exactly what you deserved, and I think also what you wanted. Glen is probably one of the nicest guys on this board. He has a very good reputation and many, many people respect his demeanor and skill. I have fished with him many times now and had my kid along too. Never been skunked. Once again you have totally missed the mark in your judgement. You do seem to care about the fish's well being, so I commend you for that. ....But if you are not sure of all of those things which might or might not harm a fish, how do you release a fish at the back of a boat, do they all float when they die, etc., etc., etc. and it bothers you SO much, then just quit fishing!! I apologize to the guy who started this thread. We should have done better by you.
  7. That is a beautiful fish. Gotta love the blood on his shorts!
  8. What didn't add up? Glen told you exactly what he did and answered your question. I was on the boat and we successfully released many large fish off the back of the boat without a net. We watched each of them to make sure they survived before we got out of sight. One out of about 13-14 fish got 3 trebles in him, we boated it got the hook out then torpedoed it back in. It swam away strong because we did not screw around and play it out. Got the hooks out fast then got it back in asap. The nice thing about prefishing is you don't have to really worry about boating them. You can play them alot tougher and get 'em to the boat and back in the water quick so they will live to fight again another day. We only had a couple that even rolled a little that we had to watch.
  9. the more, the merrier Chad! just join em'
  10. here's to all you fathers out there!
  11. Sean it was great to talk with you at the dock. Hope to fish with you sometime. Good luck in the next Pro-Am!
  12. What a weekend for the Spoonfed Team. Captain Glen took the crew out Thursday to pre-fish east. The reports were not that hot so when I joined up with my team Friday we went west. We found a few fish first thing but nothing we felt good about working for 2 more days. So around 7:30 we picked up and went to deeper water. After setting up in 300+ the fish started smacking our offerings. We had found the fish! It was a pretty nice pod of very large steelies and the odd king mixed in. These steelies were beauties - 8-14 lbs. and fat as they could be! We went back in feeling very good about the Pro-Am Ah yes, then comes Mother Nature on Saturday Like a lot of other teams the blow on Saturday really messed up the fish. The early bite was the key and we couldn't take full advantage because we ran too far before we set up. We did manage a king and a steelie before the waves started rocking, but it absolutely shut down our area. It was pretty barren out there. We did manage a third fish mid morning, but he was all alone and with a 1.5 hour ride back against the wind and waves we were done. Ended day 1 with 3 fish and sitting in 6th place. Sunday we were faced with a decision to go back to our Friday hot spot hoping they returned, or just search around to try and find a concentration of fish to work. We knew the wind might have the fish scattered and it could be a tough day. We were right. Committing to the Friday area, we motored out west again and set up. Our school of big steelies were gone, but we picked away here and there with some other fish and came away with a box of 7. 4 kings and 3 steelies, nothing of size, but keepers in the box so we were happy. We did catch quite a few skippers which was frustrating as that would have more than filled the box, but back in they went. It was a beautiful day to fish sunday and we had a great time, fished really hard and did about all we could do with what we had. We just did not come across any concentration of fish we could work over. When we had them under the boat, Captain Glen would get 'em! We ended the tourney just out of the money, but day 1 really killed us from the start. Spoons were the bite for us and like many others we worked mostly the top of the water column down to 70 ft. It was great to see all of the teams and meet some new guys too. Thanks to the observers and volunteers!
