  1. Yes, I did take a little heat wearing that hat on board 😂 Geno is the walleye man!!! I took my boat and went back today to give it a try. It took a little bit to figure out where they were and what they wanted. But when I did it was game on. 🎣 8lb, 7lb 6lbðŸ‘
  2. Well a buddy of mine tells me he booked a charter with Gene from Sunken Treasure and asked me if I wanted to go and I am so glad I did. I always try to get out with others cause it seems like you always pick up some new info. I've been out with Justin and picked up a few things and now Gene today. First I got to say Gene and Sam were super nice people with a welth of knowledge. So glad I met them and if any one was looking for a charter out of Henderson I would highly recommend them. Now to the fishing. The morning was HOT! First eye I boated was 10lbs 29" 👀 Hawg. We hit 6 for 6 in the first hour and a half. Then a slow pick. Had a 20lb King hit a reef runner in 20fow but lost him at the boat. Overall went 9 for 14. Unbelievable day on the water! Can't wait to try and get up there and give it a go in my boat!🎣
  3. Was out this morning. Fished 7-noon. Got excited when the dipsy took a shot before I had all the lines set. Boated a nice 12lb coho. wire was 210 105fow green dot board with green glow fly. Proceeded to work 80-120fow east of port. Had everything out jplugs, meat, flys. Took one more shot on 300 copper wonder bread sd. Beautiful day to be out but with the lack of boats out (5 that I seen) on such a nice day told me everything I needed to know. Tight lines
  4. Ton of cool stuff to do in upstate NY! Also some of the best fishing as well. Good job putting them on some fish Justin. Can be tuff most of the time in that lake but you got it going on!🎣 well done all the way aroundðŸ‘
  5. I made that mistake today. Spent 6 hours this morning in front of Oswego chasing kings. Had one shaker on a dipsy for all of 10 seconds👎👎 I had otisco on my mind but the weather looked to good to pass up taking a shot up on the big lake. Oh well, I got some lures nice and clean today😄 I should have stuck to my backup plan. Next time. Nicely done land shark.
  6. 👀👀👀 That is a Hawg!! Nice job!🙌
  7. Went out this past Thursday am and did well. I fish Oneida quite a bit for eyes and this year has been challenging. Early in the year I did well jigging bucktails and blades in usual early spots, but summer everyone seems to be struggling. I have all the gear and fish every way that there is to fish for eyes. Usually this time I am trolling like everyone between 109-117 but after many unproductive outings of marking plenty of fish and only getting some shorts and one or two keepers I decided to take a swing for the fences and it has paid off for me. Sometimes you can't get stuck in the what usually works rut and you have to think out side the box. My last 3 outings I have fished in 8-10fow all day in weed beds that have deeper water close by. I have caught some jigging and a few on lipless cranks but what has been producing best is using my electric trolling motor to troll the edge of the weed beds using a worm harness, with a barrel swivel with a 1/4 oz tungsten bullet weight. A gold perch Colorado #4 blade has been best. My theory has been that the bait fish are in there and it's cool at the bottom of the weed beds where the eyes are sitting. If you go buy them quick enough they don't have enough time to look things over like they do suspended out deep. The quality of fish has been better and so has the more aggressive bite in shallow. It's pretty cool when you actually put a plan together, go out and execute it, and have it work.🎣
  8. Nice job👠I really need to start fishing bigger water for them bigger eyes😀
  9. Found some fatties tonight. 21" 19" 18" Fished from 5:30 to 8:30 went 3/4 losing the biggest one of the night at the boat😫 18-22fow jigs.
  10. Some interesting thoughts here. I think I'm going with the idea that it might mask any type of unusual scents from handling the lures themselves. I thought of the hunting aspect where scent control is huge and we are always trying to cover our scent. But then again who's not hanging some doe on heat scent to try and draw them in. I will say I tried some Berkeley shad scent this weekend and couldn't tell you if it worked or not but can honestly say it couldn't have hurt any.
  11. I have been giving some thought to trying some scent sprays on my lures, blades, and jigs this year for walleye. Hears some things that I have done and seen that has made me curious to try it on eyes. I realize some species are different but you think about a shark and they can smell blood a mile away. I seen a guy loose a twister tail that he sprayed with gulp alive off the end of his dock. About two hours later a bass swam by, stopped dead and sucked it up off the bottom as it sat there. I could think there would be no other reason for that fish to do that but scent. I have also personally had a friend fishing on my boat for trout and salmon who sprayed his spoons with WD40 of all things and they were the only lures that got touched that day. He tried to say something like an oil slick trail, blah blah But was there something to it, I don't know but I couldn't argue with the results that day. What's everyone else's take on scent? Do you believe in it? If so what and how do you use it?
  12. Well the fishing was TUFF today to say the least. Went back to my waypoints from yesterday and the fish were still around but had lockjaw. Ran the same program from yesterday but never moved a rod till 10am. Switched a few things up and began to pick away at them and finally boxed out around 2pm. Screen was loaded, best was 46fow down 30. @ 1.9 mph .Talked to a lot of guys today who also had a tuff go of it. Seems we did better than most but not good enough. At least I got a nice meal a in the future. Time to go chase some salmon now till the fall bite kicks in. Did see a 4ft sturgeon jump completely out of the water right next to the boat👀 tight lines.
  13. Got out this AM 6-10:30. These were the 3 I kept. 18", 19" and 20 1/2 More to follow tomorrow😎ðŸ‘
  14. Well done! Always love it when you can get off the water with a quick limit. Leaves the rest of the day open for something else.
  15. Nice looking table food there!
  16. Justin, I had 72 deg. on top. No probe yet for down temp but maybe soon. They have been active and cooperative but the lake is about to turn over I think. Looking like pea soup where I was today. Once that happens it will shut down for a bit I think. Gotta strike while the iron is hot! I got a great start on packing the freezer😎
  17. Well actually I took somebody out 7/4 for an evening run from 5-8:30. Did a 2 man limit, boated eight total with a couple lost. Nothing big but nice table food. This morning was back at it again on a friends boat this time. Did a 2 man limit in an hour and a half. Lost another 6 , one big one at the boat that must have gone 25". Oh well ended up with a nice bag of 18"-19" and one slob 24" for a mornings work. Got most on bucktails this morning, few on a blade. Seemed like everyone around me was hitting them as well, trolling, jigging. Didn't seem to matter fish were there just had to put it in front of them.ðŸ‘ðŸºðŸ˜Ž

  19. Wow! I'm licking my phone. I think I can smell that prime rib through the speaker. That looks awesome! Nicely done Justin!ðŸ‘ðŸº

  21. Ron, Was on the water last evening for 4-8:30 pm. Thinking about headed back out this evening, see what the day brings.
  22. Headed out solo and went back to where I got them last weekend and was still marking fish. Set up on a good school and it took a little bit to figure out what they wanted for dinner. After catching 4 on a blade bait it wasn't the quality I was looking for so I ditched the jigging plan. Since the water was calm I set up the riggers and ran a lead core down the chute. Imeaditly started to pay off, rigger fires first then the lead core, doubled up. Landed both thanks to the auto pilot. 20" & 19". Went on to boat 8 more. Smithwick was what they wanted. Ended the day 14 for 18. No slobs but kept 3 nice eaters. Also pleased that I put together a trolling program to add to the arsenal 😎
  23. Just wanted to say thanks for all the kind words guys. It felt so good to finally execute a plan and come through with results. Although I don't always have the kind of time to fish that I would like (between kids & sports, working 2 jobs and everything else that happens in life) I know I have the equipment to get it done and this outing gave me a huge confidence boost that I can get it done as well. ðŸ‘ðŸºðŸº
  24. Well east winds on Oneida have always been my nemesis but that changed today big time. I guess I just needed 20mph east winds, a driving rain, and 4ft waves to get it done😄 Had a plan and stuck to it, boated over 20 eyes today. Weighed in a limit for the tourney today, biggest was 23" 3lb, and the others weren't far behind him. Finished 3rd and finally cashed, couldn't be happier. We earned it in that weather!
  25. We did oneida as well yesterday morning. East wind is always tuff for me on that lake. Did 5 keeper eyes with the biggest being 21", 2 shorts and 2 lost at the boat. Throw in a perch, sunny, and a couple of sheeps and it was a decent morning. No pattern, everything took a fish or two. Worked same area all morning in 24-29fow. Perfect drift with the bags out.
