    Wasn't there a trophy for big fish Friday? Seems like the year I won it could not be located or some thing like that. It was fine because the $180 dollars I took back to camp made up for it.....there I started the trash talking now lets keep it going guys. Lol -Jeremy

    I will be at Sampson from Thursday till Monday. My crew will be in sites 305 and 307. I will be fishing out of an Aluminum 21' Sylvan Pro Fisherman. Its almost getting close enough that I am getting excited! I really look forward to the derby every year. I'm due for another money fish hope one of my boys reels it in this time! Feel free fellas to stop by and have a cold one. -Jeremy

    I was out there last year. Its almost as close to "catching fish in a barrel" as it gets. The Spring eyes out there are stacked like cord wood. Which is why I to am heading out to Port Clinton this Monday to fish all week. I bet you will be planning more trips out there. The weather can be tricky just like Ontario so play it safe it is a great a lake. I have a 21 foot Sylvan pro fisherman and plan on watching the winds, it can get rough with a North or heavy West wind. East is not bad along with a South wind. Good Luck to yah. -Jeremy

    I will have the radio on 68 of course monitoring the distress channels as well. This time of year another boat out there with you is a nice safety net. -Jeremy

    Steelydan what time are you going out? I plan on launching around 10 am or so. Kind of late I know but got my 10 and 7 yr old going with us....trying to keep the kiddos warm is alway a challenge. -Jeremy

    Lineman- What kind of failures did you experience with your 4 different Elite 7's?

    Well, I settled on the Lowrance Elite 7 Hdi. Any one have any tips on setting up this unit to run most effectively? I have read that they perform well once dialed in. Thanks Jeremy

    Any one have any thoughts on these units? They are catching my eye. The Furuno has a 2 year warranty thats a plus! Any feedback on any of these would be appreciated. -Jeremy

    I suggest a yamaha I have had two different merc's and can say the yamaha is a better quality motor. Not to say the merc's wouldn't work for yah. I use a controllking on my yamaha and love it. I did use a 9.9 on a 21 ft hard top trophy and it would push it just fine. Jeremy

    I was able to change bunks on my old trophy with out removing boat from trailer. I jacked up one side and blocked it then slide one bunk out and built a new one and installed it. Then I repeated the process on the other side. I never had to take the whole trailer out from the boat. Beauty of it was I did it in my driveway in front of the garage where all my tools are located so it worked out well. -Jeremy

    I believe the three rod rule is good until December then it needs a vote to keep it in effect.

    Ok, with only 11 days until I arrive at Sampson (sight 315) for the 2013 derby I can feel the excitement building within me.. Would love to get a list going on this thread who is fishing out of Sampson this year? Its always funny how the fishing reports slow down on Seneca before the derby ha ha! Nobody wants to give away the winning spot or hot lure ha ha!! Here's a pic of the boat I'll be fishin out of this year. I gave up the trophy for this 21' open bow. Easier to tow and can pull the kiddies on tube or even catch some late summer bass with it. Attach a pic of your boat if yah can I love to put LOU names with boat pics and faces..... -Jeremy

    I will be at Sampson again this year as well. Will be setting up camp Thursday at site 315. Its hard to believe derby time is almost here I wait and plan for this weekend all year. Always enjoy the good company and the whole experience. I enjoy meeting other LOU members stop in for a cold one.... Jeremy

    I must say the 200 bucks I won last year not Will?? almost payed for the beer we drank that weekend. haha Count me in again this year Nick. Oh yeah and no sob story this year about how big the one you let go was. Lol Jeremy

    The two part epoxy will definetly seal the wood but it needs to be protected from uv rays. This winter I used system 3 epoxy resin to seal my new transom and floor it's awesome stuff. It however does not like uv it will degrade over time unless covered or painted. -Jeremy

    Good point made by Mortigan. A second motor in my opinion is also a piece of safety equipment. I would think a 9.9 would suit your needs as a good trolling motor and could get you off the lake in a safety situation.
