    I will be up this weekend, any advise? I was going to start in close for browns 30'-40' then head out 120'- 200' and look for bait.

    Mr Clean, My boat is at the Anchor. We went out Saturday and had no luck in close, went to 120' - 140' found bait & fish picked up one laker and droppe two others. Sunday went out after the rain, same area 100' to 130' found bait and fish, alot of the bait was on the bottom. Caught a steelhead and small salmon lost four other fish ( I hate the single hook lures)

    I lost two probes last year, due to stainless steel cable failure. I bought Pro Line Braid for down riggers rated at 250# test where as SS is 135#. Has anyone been using this product? At $325.00 for a probe and shark weight, I am a little cautious.

    What is a good Dipsey color to run, I have always ran green, but I read where black is the best color to run.

    I say no to Big Jon, Had two booms snap with only 8Lb weights. Lost a probe. Only two options are Canon and scotty.

    Well, not that you guys where much help. Looking at a Seascout for forward and side scanning. Does anyone have one of these units?

    I am sure the charter guys have some equipment to find and follow bait. Considering the time and gas we spend for trolling seems like it should be productive. $ 10,000.00 is still a little pricey!

    Does anyone have either forward or side scanning? I have a 2009 Lowrance before the HDLs,(down only) Looked at Furno models but they start at $ 14,000.00 and have a 3' sonar transducer. I fish a 24' 1999 Thompson 240.

    What is the best fish finder out there? I have a 2009 Lowrance with 12" screen and GPS. I added a broad band sounder. But I still can not mark bait or fish when underway. Also what about side and forward scan?

    Looking for infro on how to set up a dipsy. What size? How far back do you run the flasher and fly? Do you use wire or mono? Never ran one before, seems like a lot of kings are being caught on them.
