  1. Very nice fish. That's a great first trip.
  2. So much for that the mtdew skunked out today with lemon ice being hot. Just goes to show can't commit to any one.
  3. I thought about hooking an antenna to the handheld but than what good is a handheld. I'd rather go full power and hardwire it to the boat. no more bouncing around on the dash, dead batteries or broken conversations.
  4. I too have had similar experience. I love bowfishing for carp and took justin with me on two ocassions last year. not to point fingers but I had never flipped my canoe.( it is 16 ft and 4ft wide) We manage to flip it twice that week. The worst part was we ruined the wifes camcorder less than week before our wedding.
  5. This might be a dumb question. Mines rated for 90hp. What do they say if I have a 90hp main and a 9.9 kicker. as long as i'm still under weight am i good.
  6. the south end has alaunch in the channel. That would fit your boat fine also. But maybe out of the way from buffalo. As i've heard the fishing may be better.
  7. hey spit happens, Your just mad you wern't fishing.
  8. Made it out on the south end today 8:30-11:00 am. went 4/5 3 landlocks 1 laker. The wife lost one on a one rod double. That was a first for us. Ran spoons 15-30 ft, sliding cheaters and dipsies out 280-300 on wire. mt dew spind doc and a homemade fly took the laker about 5 lbs. The best part was no lampreys and these landlocks looked like footballs. I did manage to hook up with another fisherman or his rig anyway. Sorry I'm still new at this. Nothing was lost but i did have to cut my wire and my leader in to four pieces to get his stuff free.
  9. If I had just one it would be white /mt.dew/crush. Make that two of them.
  10. How do you terminate the wire? I lost a dipsy S/D and fly due to a failed knot last weekend. I ran them knotted last and they held up till now. I tied to a ball bearing swivel that clips to the dipsy.
  11. I'm looking for a dashmount radio and antena. Any suggestions or advice would be great. I found out this weekend that my handheld is only good for a couple hundred yards. can't go too big due to size of boat and budget. Thanks for any info.
  12. Hope you got a good one. If you could only mount one fish in your life it would be a tough decision. Remember the biggest fish can only steel so much takle but pi$$ her off and you lose half the boat. Congratulations!
  13. Sheriffs deputy sat at the canal launch in watkins glen sat a.m. wraning people and checking paper work. He says its only needed when moving. I dont think he wrote any tickets.
  14. I fished 4-3 & 4-4. These guys are right on the money. Spinnys and flies DEEP. picked a few off the rigger at 110 and off wires 270-290 out Green as always. green dolphin spinny and green and yellow homemade fly were good today. I haven't found anything HOT though. slow pick Get there early its always better. If your fishing the south end try the east side. From painted rock past hector falls lots of boats there this weekend and for goos reason. I've heard the west side is good a little farther north.
  15. If you do that I doubt yu'll be buying fishing stuff. But honey it could double as a mobile
  16. Count me in on seneca's Bigger lake= Bigger Fish or at least bigger stories Need payment info
  17. At least you saved a couple hundered bucks on that mount. Besides the little ones taste better.
  18. I think I saw that boat following me last year.lol
  19. It's a real good thing I work the night shift. LOL Otherwise I'd have to start running charters for gas money.
  20. I'm glad you scored, sounds like lots of fun.
  21. I think the right rod makes a bigger difference than a snubber. You know I don't use em justin.
  22. Depending on how much you know start simple. Spoons are easy to run. I like to run spoons from 40ft up for LL's and browns. Stagger you setups till you find fish. Look over 100ft of water or shallower. It seems to me the fish are high in the morning and evening. Try a variety of colors and patterns till you find one that works. Seneca has been great with anything green in the past. Pink and blue were hot for me last weekend. LL's are probably the easiest right now. Go deeper and slower for lakers. Hope this helps. I'm not a professional But I play one on the internet.
  23. I run 30# wire to the dipsy and mono to flasher. NO Snubber! I land more fish without one. Tournament tie all my flies. My dipsies are not tight anything over 3 lbs will trip them. I use a med rod and let that take the shock. I like to fell the fish, the snubber takes that feeling away. Works for me on the FLX not much time on the big pond yet. If it was easy it wouldn't be fun!
  24. If the fish are at the powerplant you already went too far.
