  1. Ray can't tell what kind of berries they are. Tried sniffing them but I haven't smelled anything quite like that. What should I look for come season, The house is situated between two swamps and looks to be a travel corridor for deer and now bear. Would love to stick one with my bow. If left alone will it return year after year.
  2. I should have expected answers like those. I've got my trail cam set up now. SShhh Don't tell the neighbor. I did ask my dad.... It wasn't him.
  3. I recently purchased a new house with a few acres. While checking out the land boundries(recently surveyed) I found this. I know it is hard to be 100% on this. I consider my self fairly knowledgeable in the woods. Could be coyote, fox as i know they eat berries and seeds. But the size of this has thrown me. this was found 50 yds from the house. Bears are not common here but possible, a few killed on sugarhill the last couple years. (3 miles away) The quater was not found there i put it there for size reference. Otherwise I would have grabbed a bag and started tracking
  4. Very nice boat. Very comfortable. Would you take a half done house for trade. P.S. I'll throw in a free wife.
  5. Best site out there. Great job Chad! Without this info I probably wouldn't even own a boat. I went from 2 fish a year to my best 20 in 2.5 hrs. and 30 fish days. just since I joined. Props to Chad but remember It wouldn't be anything at all if it wasn't for all the contributing members. Thanks to all of you that feed my addiction.
  6. Crossbows durring the firearms season is fine with me. My tags are filled by then anyway. I love the peaceful time in the woods and the chance at unpressured deer. I hope they keep them seperate from verticals. Maybe give us a early season primitive. That would be great.
  7. It wasn't a banner day, but a good steady pick of quality fish kept us happy. My little brother is wanting to go more and more now that I am catching fish consistantly. Just wish some of those lakers were bigger.
  8. The 8" Spin doctors are the most common and work well in the finger lakes. typical leads between flasher and fly are 20-24 in. green flasher /green fly; White flasher /white fly Theres alot to choose from there is a post right now peole are listing there 4 favs check it out. My favs are mt dew, Innovator, green w/crush, lemon ice. But everyday is different. No snubber needed. I don't use them at all and land more fish than my buddy who does. The only snubber you need is a good rod(not too stiff) and know how to use it. If you plan on getting dipsy rigs stock up on the flashers and flies. These can get exspensive. Built my collection over the last year, one at a time. Now I lock my flasher box up and leave the rods out in the open. Don't be afraid to experiment. Learn to tie a tournament tie fly leader. http://www.fishdoctorcharters.com/templ ... ctor=video I have caught alot of fish on home made flies. Big weenie and A-TOM-MIK are the best flies out there.
  9. I did well there 7/31 right out front 120-160FOW. Flashers and flies off dipsies were the ticket. speed control was tough because of chop but tried to stay 2.4-3.0mph SOG. We went 18/21 and were off by noon. Yellows and greens picked lakers and LL's, Even picked a small rainbow in 360FOW turning the boat around. Watch the weeds and your sure to have a good time. Good Luck!!
  10. What's that? don't grill it. I think its too late by then
  11. innovator/Toxic waste Mt dew/fruity frostsicles Lemon Ice/pole dancer White green dots/ Green hammer
  12. It's always the quiet ones you should watch.
  13. If I launch at T-falls is there a mooring dock at meyers so I can weigh in without plugging it up?
  14. If I launch at T-falls is there a mooring dock at meyers so I can weigh in? Whoops wrong topic!?! D!*# computer
  15. I've seen needles advertised for this. Anyone tried it? http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... hasJS=true
  16. I agree with big Dave. Be glad you can see it on the FF and put it where you need it.
  17. to get this back on topic I usually run my spinnes close to the ball 6-8ft with good results. But I have noticed if they are firing on the dipsy and not on the rigger I will stretch them back 15-20ft and can make a big difference. I don't play too much with that back hole, I do it the same every time. If its not working then play with it a little. Something will make it work.
  18. Congrats to Eskimo Joe and his team. Thank you to split for putting this together. My dad and I had a great time despite slow fishing in the morning. This was my second time on cayuga this year, I find myself liking it more and more. Except for the drive. I can hit sodus just as fast as meyers. It was a pretty simple program, stay out of the weeds and you will catch fish. LOL
  19. I know what i'm running sat. Can't wait to see the new patterns. Great product and great guy. Thanks Dave
  20. Great job! The first is always the hardest. Sounds like you had a good morning I should have fished cayuga. Went 5/5 on lakers on Seneca instead nothing over 4lbs. Its tough to find those rainbows.
  21. I recently picked up a pair of Big jons and have a few extras to get rid of. I have 1 Cannon sport trol (easy troll) with the base. Great working little unit. It has a least 100 ft of cable and clincher ready to go. $75 OBO SOLD!! I also have 2 Uni-Troll 6 Riggers. I never ran these but look like they are in good condition. I only have one base and they both need gears for the line counters. $100 for the pair OBO You can PM,call,or text me (607) 368-8478 Jim I work nights so i'll probably return calls the next day. I live near Watkins Glen but could negotiate pick up.
  22. Learn to watch your rods and blowback. I don't have a down probe but know if my dipsies are bent far enough I have the speed right. Last week SOG was anywhere from 2.4-3.4 depending on direction and current. If thats all you run tie up some free sliding cheaters. Easy to use and will double your catch.
