  1. I'll be docked in Wilson starting Saturday shoot me a pm with your contact info we can share intel. Jarrett.
  2. Yup, no power steering on 2160/2460 models when the main engine is off. In practice it's not a big problem. Steering is tight but passable with an ex steer connector. Low speed steering on these boats (with power steering/main engine on) is like guiding a drunken sailor...the reduced play in the steering can be helpful for non-drunken sailor crew.
  3. Kicker bracket is made by Adventure Marine, a Canadian Co.
  4. Nice work on the beefed up platform that mount is where mine blew out in rough water last year. Went to the fixed mount and cleared the transom for fish and to give the EZ steer more room.
  5. It's that funky Bigfoot shaft measures 22" listed at 20" I'd prefer 25" and power tilt but can't justify the tab.
  6. Here's my 89 2160 kicker solution. Don't bother running a two stroke and separate tank. I did. It was a loud pain in th $&@.
  7. Just contact them great customer service.
  8. Sure looks like a steelhead. Not a great picture to rely on...the fish's mouth/gums will be one of the best indicators. White = trout. White & Grey = Coho
  9. Welcome to the board. I live right in between Lake MI and Lake O - there's a good reason why my trailer able boat always heads east for salmon: Lake Ontario is an incredible fishery. The later the season gets the more kings migrate to the Eastern basin towards the Salmon River. There's still good fishing in the western basin for Kings in the fall but it is a major migration you should be aware of.
  10. Exactly. There's some natural reproduction, no doubt. Very limited. The quick out migration of King fry was always thought to be an advantage in Erie's warm tribs but it didn't pan out. There have also been some tagging studies showing salmon commonly migrating from Huron and Georgian bay through St. Clair and the Detroit into Erie. This was before the bait crash. Almost as if the salmon were trying to get to the salt but ran out of time.
  11. I see stray/natural kings every year in a few Erie tribs.
  12. This link includes a pic of an ocean phase pink salmon: http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/static/applications/webintra/wildlifenews/images/article_images/7142.jpg
  13. The upturned smallish plankton-eater jaw is a good way to tell a pinkie. They are more similar to a sockeye than a ho when dime bright.
  14. They are also highly cyclical, typically returning to spawn every two years.
  15. Pinks are also called humpies. Very distinctive spawning phase with a large hump on the males. Smaller than Ho's too. Very prolific several thousand experimental fry were flushed down a hatchery sewer in the 70's. They have colonized much of the GL in limited numbers from that event. Primary population is found in Superior and SSM connector.
  16. Adventure Marine makes a bracket that might work. Spendy though. Out of BC.
  17. Fished up there as a kid, what an incredible area. We were fishing smallies and pike in the bays and islands north of Tobermorey. Right at the tip of the peninsula is a deep water highway for all fish coming and going from Georgian Bay and Huron. Good Salmonid fishery sometimes. It's 100fow a stone's throw from shore.
  18. That's good advice right there.
  19. Thanks, heading back to Wilson in a few weeks reports are food for the imagination.
  20. Nice rig I've got an 89 2160 that I have been putting too much $ into over the years, it's been a good boat. The layout is excellent and the hull is solid.
  21. I've got just the kicker for sale. I need a power trim kicker due to shoulder surgery. I'm selling my 2010 long shaft (22") Mercury 9.9 Bigfoot, remote controlled, electric /manual start, good alternator, manual tilt, very good condition light use. NE Ohio, $1,600.00.
  22. I've got a remote operation long shaft 2010 Mercury Bigfoot elec. start for sale, manual tilt. Very good condition. Shaft length is 22". But I'm in NE Ohio. $1,600.00.
