  1. While preparing my boat for its winter nap I noticed that my transducer has some cracking in the outer housing and I'm looking into replacing it with a 50/200 transducer. I mostly troll for landlocks and rainbows. I'm curious to know if anyone out there uses a 50/200 transducer instead of the standard 83/200 transducer and what their impression are? Thanks to anyone that can chime in on this
  2. Thanks for the info. Looking forward to getting in the water soon. Good look with your season
  3. Hello. I have a rental on point peninsula starting today thru this weekend, I'm looking for and would really appreciate any advice on where to launch, lure depth/FOW, speed/ flasher/ fly combos, spoon size and colors and any particular locations to try to get into some salmon. Fishing out of a 22 Wellcraft sportsman with downriggers, wire dipseys, etc. I have fished out of Sodus before but haven't chased Kings n a few years and this is my first trip to the Henderson area. Thanks for any info you can pass along
  4. On Seneca today, South end, large debris in middle of Lake including most of a tree
  5. Thanks for the report. I've only been out a handful of times between the monsoons of July and have only picked up a few here and there. Looking forward to getting out this week

I'm envious. Like the saying goes....... time spent fishing is not deducted from one's life.
  7. Could have been at work. Just sayin"- beautiful day today
  8. lost a lure is correct though. Make sure you drain all the water out and you're usually good to go. Im move on from lake fishing to whitetails and steelhead in the Great lakes tributaries for late fall/winter. Maybe one of these years I'll join the Frostbite Fleet 😁
  9. Welcome to the Northeast. I have an outboard and I usually go until the end of October. Sometimes we have a fairly warm fall and some times it starts to crap out by the third week October. Once the temperature starts to be forecast to dip below freezing for a few nights in a row is when I surrender for winter. Some great fishing can be had up until then
  10. My brother has used the Navigloo system for 4 years and says he hasn't had any problems with it and has held up well. He is 50 min south of Buffalo and sees his fair share of lake effect snow
  11. Thanks. South end, 65 ft down over 520 ft. of water 27". Battery was zonked on digital scale so no weight to report Sent from my SM-G970U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. "Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated" - Seneca Lake. Caught today at 2 pm Sent from my SM-G970U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. For Seneca a lighter presentation has been working well for me on the landlocked salmon. Have not targeted lakers. Smaller spoons (under 3") fire tiger, mixed veggies kevorkian, chicken wing, etc, 10lb fluorocarbon leader, 40 to 65 ft down over 350- 500 f.o.w.
  14. The Captain is friendly and does his best to put you on to some fish. Maybe you catch some, maybe you don't. For those plagued by the demon of external validation the number of fish caught will make or break the day. I'm with camper4lyfe - a few good laughs with friends and time away from work and a few good fish?- bonus
  15. Very simple solution. The bottom line is that the captain is responsible for the boat regardless of who is at the helm. If you don't know the navigation rules learn them or stay out of the helm. This would alleviate a lot of conflict and frustration for a lot of people
  16. Unfortunately not everyone is well versed, or pays attention to navigation rules in crossing/overtaking situations. The water should be friendlly place. I highly recommend the Boat US online boating safety course (free). Very comprehensive and a great review even for those of us with decades of experience.
  17. Well done. No one will will have fond memories of their first video game or download but they sure will remember the time they out fished their older brother!
  18. Just wondering if anyone has noticed a difference between using 8" vs 11" pro troll flashers. Do you find one size more effective than the other? I only have the smaller size and have never tried the larger ones. Thanks for any insights.
  19. Overall a good week on Seneca. Good weather and caught enough fish to keep things interesting. Plenty of solitude and beautiful scenery what an awesome part of the country we live in. Well its time to pack up and go back to the grind. Good fishing to all
  20. I didn’t see any. Very healthy looking. Both fish were released Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
