This will be my second year targeting kings and my tackle is still limited to say the least but I caught fish last year so I'm hooked" little different then when a walleye hits a dipsy lol" so my question is.... Is it really worth it running meat? I'm looking at it this way, I'm going to drop $150 buying rigs and familiar meat do you think I should pull the trigger or step up my fly/ spoon assortment?

What are some of your guys thoughts on this, personally in the west for me the last couple years by the late season everything's locked up tight and options are small. The diver huntings great on big water but it's challenging finding puddlers! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Hit this guy the first week of archery during a monsoon if anybody remembers how hard it rained. Hit him tight to the shoulder and didn't get much penetration, blood was good but washed away quickly. Had deer search come out and the dog struggled to keep the trail after a valiant effort we called it quits. Found only 60 yds from where the dog stopped! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Bleeding out walleye makes quite a bit of difference as well, the meat is a completely different color, I bleed em stick them cooler with plenty of ice filet then put them on a cookie sheet with paper towels in the fridge to dry for a bit vacuum pack and they last a year no prob. And ditto cut the brown out! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

It was bad last night! That's all it takes is one guy to run cross lot Infront of ten boats and there is a disaster brewing, most guys were well aware and did a great job but that handful just didn't get it,about lost it a few times, fishing was great tho. Glad to back on the eyes! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
Spro swivels question
flybuster replied to Fishbowl836's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I run OR clips on dipsys it's not tied in at all, that's how I get 50 ft of floro out the back remove them like a inline board on the way in. and I religiously change swivels and snaps that's how they get expensive, I throw them out monthly or sooner. Thanks for the links I'll give a whirl. Not stuck in my ways just haven't found a superior option yet. That's why these boards are great there's always a hundred different options and just as many opinions on virtually every topic! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
Spro swivels question
flybuster replied to Fishbowl836's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
With the spro I run trilene and polamar "spelling " and no it's not brutal but it's still a extra 50 bucks a year for swivels. When running Albright or double uni from mono to braid back to floro I had some problems that's all, sent at least three dipsys to the fish gods a few years back and haven't dropped one since. My doubt is not in the knot it is in my ability to consistently tye it in the rush of a situation, bad weather and quickly.and I just trust my system now. I also lose significantly less floro due to twist the past few years with the sz10 and a snap on the other end 50' every time adds up quick when your dragging perch or bass behind a dipsy "ya I'm a walleye guy" as far as the single strand running thru the hole is that not relative to a Albright where a single strand runs thru relying on compression to hold it in place? If there was a reason to join mono I'd knot it but thin slick "superline" i like joining with a swivel! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United -
Spro swivels question
flybuster replied to Fishbowl836's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I use the the size 10 power's for all joinings , backer to braid-braid to floro and knock on wood haven't had a problem yet. No issues getting on the reel or thru the guides. Spro's get expensive but there still cheaper than the random knot failures I've had sending all my gear to the bottom. for me it's faster tying and more reliable. But that's just me! It's a bug there trying to fix, make sure you have the most recent update and if all else fails your computer it will work just fine. It's a mobile issue
