  1. It's more important to hunt where the geese want to be instead of where you want to hunt them. If there a mile off the road and you have no choice but to walk, do it- don't set up where its convienent you. You'll be frustrated when they fly over your head and land over there anyways! And when your in that sweet spot you won't need to rely on calling just getting your pup to sit still till there feet are out.
  2. There's as many different opinions as there are fisherman on the lake. But I use size 3 swivels on 12lb floro. Average 120 back and yesterday 20 ft behind the ball was fine. As far as baits lol buy them all! Natural to bright big to small because you just don't ever know
  3. I gave up on mono it's so thick and causes extra drag. The actual planer board line is so cheap these days that's all I'd recommend.
  4. Try it from a PC or view full site I can't do it on the mobile app either. It comes back to the screen to choose category but nothing us clickable. Are you both on I phones
  5. I'll be on erie but I may have to bring my ice shanty instead of the boat. What the heck!!!
  6. http://justgastanks.com/product_info.php?products_id=1239&osCsid=b21c2e08de821f2ab4ba97cc3f12d768 That's the disconnect although I'm not sure if the brands are the same
  7. Ya you "T" off your main line and there's a quick disconnect you attach to your kicker for removal. I also just unhook the line and let my kicker run itself out of gas when I'm done trolling to avoid any issues with ethanol in the tiny little throttle body. You will have to leave your key on tho unless you wire a secondary switch to the pump. Dealer hooked mine up like that with elec. start on kicker for I think 140 bucks
  8. eBays always good if you have time to search.
  9. That was great thanks for sharing that one!!!!!
  10. My 2 cents may only be worth 1 cent but here it is, like all manufactures wether it's auto boat or rv they all have strings of issues, they all have recalls customer service issues and so on and It pisses people off! A two minute google search will prove that Lund crestliner and every other major manufacturer has problems from time to time and there is no sure bet. Personally I was sick of old boats and the inherent issues with them so for 5-6 grand more than I could find a good 10 year old boat I bought a shiny new tracker and knock on wood 2 years on the water with no issues what so ever "love it in fact" my good friend who I fish with all the time bought a new Starcraft 196 last year half way thru the first season he had hydraulic lines leaking and breaking, a rib wore a hole rite thru the floor. Now don't get me wrong it's a beautifull boat smokes mine in comparison but it had problems... My suggestion would be to buy the nicest boat you can afford that dose what you need it to do regardless of brand
  11. It works just as good I think it's just a matter of preference , I like running jets with snap weights or lead core together the reason being is the separation you can gain while 1 floats 1sinks when turning ect helps avoid messes and entices strikes!
  12. O. And I only run shallow divers. Always off cores, divers ect. And same speed for both because I always run them together in the spread and I tend to only run sticks on long cores anything over 5 colors because it's a pain in the rear constantly checking meat on the harnesses when there out that far.
  13. My 2 biggest eyes of the year this past season came off the riggers with two color cores so don't count them out but the Majority came on the dipsys followed by lead anything from 3-10 color. I run 1.5 +\- a little either way.
  14. For me it also has to do with who is on board with me! When it's the wife and kids 6. Not that we don't all have mishaps trying to controll a fish behind the boat but kids and inexperienced fishermen have many many more!!! 8-10 when I get the boys on board depending on the day. Also I run more while searching for ex as soon as I leave port I tend to make a long troll parallel w shore I get as many lines out as possible, when I locate a active area I tend to reduce the # of rods so I can make shorter turns and fish the sometimes very small area of active fish
  15. The online class is not complete, you still have a classroom test to take and I believe 4 hours classroom time.
  16. Testors sells a enamel reducer. Normal thinner dose not work. And I use a variety of different clears and have not noticed much difference. Lately I've been buying aerosol spray cans again testors sells a clear. I picked up a can of automotive clear which worked as well! Just watch your clears for compatibility I've melted a few nice paintjobs crossing laquer base over the top
  17. Wow was that wind cold today, hunted the upper and Austin "my son" finally nailed a redhead. That's the one he just had to have this year! Ended up w 7 ducks between 3 guys couple whistlers and a budgie so not a great shoot but happy for him.
  18. O and tips, spend a good amount if time cutting stencils for patterns and for scales I use cheese cloth or a piece of screen. if you notice all the stripes are the same it can be done freehand but significantly faster with stencils after a bit if practice I figured out how to do these!
  19. I use testors enamels for everything there's a wide varity of colors avaliable it's hard as bricks and cheap. And it's not local but I've bought balsa bodies grow Jan's net craft in the past
