New Gun laws getting voted on tomorrow in NY
Sk8man replied to fisherman21's topic in Big / Small Game
It has been clear all along even prior to the so-called "SAFE Act" that these baboons in Albany and their silver back baboon leader know absolutely nothing about firearms or reasons for owning them. They know even less about their duties and responsibilities as our elected representatives and what constitutes infringement on Constitutional rights of New York's citizenry. The political hacks are a total embarrassment to all of us and are totally out of touch with reality. Emperor Cuomo wants firearms removed from civilian use and let everyone else fend for themselves in terms of personal protection yet we the tax payers provide him with full 24/7 protection at our expense. Something is very wrong with this picture. This government is not serving the best interest of the people as they are too busy serving themselves. Pretty disgusting really. -

You can get a close approximation by getting yourself a Fishhawk TD and attaching it to your leadcore line with and without the weight at the desired speed and record down what it says for depths for the given speeds you wish to troll at with an "average" lure and you'll have a pretty good approximation. As mentioned there are also additional variables like speed variations, waves, current etc. too which may affect things but it is better than a pure "guesstimate".

No use crying over spilled milk. My wife and I are die hard Bills fans but despite the fact that they played a good first half they faultered in the second half and did not play up to par or as well as the Texans. There were questionable calls in the first half as well and the Bills were luckily on the good end of things. The Bills have shown a lot of progress this season and are commended for it but they are also not ready for "prime time" YET (as in a Superbowl appearance). They are a young team with plenty of "gifts" but they need more time together and further development of those gifts and especially Josh Allen. He has the makings of a great quarterback in terms of native ability, a strong throwing arm but he needs to develop better control in terms of consistent accuracy. The Bills need some taller pass receivers so that they can get the "jump balls" better from the high throws. Josh Allen needs to learn that a lot of the success in getting up the field relates to shorter screen passes and that high throws long range are not always the best method for gaining ground and are "risky" and should be used more sparingly and selectively.. The main strategy of developing their primary game plans around Josh Allen is both a benefit and liability because if he gets taken out it is very difficult to re-align things around another quarterback.....fine when it is working but they don't have a lot of depth YET to their second team line-up either. So much for armchair quarterbacking from someone old enough to be Brady's father

Some companies don't list size and some bands of similar size are stronger than others. You may want to go to a place like Staples where they have various standard sizes and try out the breaking strength of some different bands. Something around 3 lbs breaking strength usually works. I have used an inexpensive digital luggage scale to get a handle on the breaking strength.

Rubber bands are the way to go. ANY knot such as between segments is a potential weakness in a setup so to the degree you can eliminate them you're probably ahead of the game

How often should I replace my mono? Every year?

Add to that checking for abrasions the same way and re-tying existing knots. -
I think it boils down to fact that the Bills played very well the first half but you can't win games not playing well in the second half in a fairly low scoring game. Josh Allen is a work in progress and he made some not so great plays as one factor. The Texans played better than the Bills in the second half and that is where you win games.

How often should I replace my mono? Every year?
Sk8man replied to Bustersit's topic in Tackle and Techniques
It is a good question and although i haven't seen any data on it I would suspect that it would be adversely affected by heat and sunlight (esp UV rays) and this would likely be true for nearly type of line that I know of unless specially coated perhaps. Even the color on some of the braid lines bleaches in the sun and weakens.. -
