I would do transom first. There's a trick. If you can get a pvc pipe a hair bigger than the actually transom and drive unit, you can leave on that over night, makes the job easier. Don't use any oils to get it on. They can pull off... Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I bet you should be upwords of 145 psi. I'm probably wrong but my 80's evinrude that was a 160hp had 145 psi on all cylinders. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Well the morning started off nasty. We hung tight to the dock for a bit then got out start on the south end, worked for some pike to kill time to move up the lake. Ran up a ways and set up. Today was a diver day. Only tool one fish on a board and another on a rigger. Everything else was diver. We had numerous short strikes and the bite turned on at 10 am. Game on! We hit some big fish and lost some big ones too. High divers with flt spoons out 160 and 145 Deep divers down 165 and 155 with echips and drs. X4 speed at 3.2 surface and 2.8 ball Here's a couple... The big boy came in at 14.35 on scale Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Elusive little creatures! The south end has some brown activity right out front, look for them where the T Cline meets the bottom of lake. This is their preferred area. Fishing can be best for them on over cast days, rain, and wind. If you have some colored water, even better chances. As stated above, long light leads and make those lures work. Zig zag a bit. Usually take the shots in the inside turns. For example. Saturday got a nice one 51 down over 60 fow... 75 foot lead.. Inside turn.. If you can find suspended bait over the shelfs or near bottom where the T Cline is you'll find browns. There's some key areas in this lake for them. They are lake wide but there are areas that produce the most. Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Jim, If you invest in a chute copper or core, I have two tx22 online boards you can have two get that line out to the side. If you hit a fish on a dipsy, especially in a turn, you will likely lose the fish, dipsy and core or copper all together. I'll be in Watkins all weekend long if you're around. Staying at the lake all weekend for birthday festivities. Nick Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Well, I took on a job for a family friend. Complained of boat overheating last year, but had a good pee stream from tell tale while running. First, remove lower unit and found a good impeller. Which is surprising for a motor that sat for 8 years, indoors though, oil was brand new looking. Motor ran good he said, after a brief diagnosis I removed the t-stat unit to find the stats corroded and stuck shut, at idle the bypass allowed enough water flow but under load the stats never opened resulting in high temps. The motor was never hurt and is all set. I got the parts online fairly cheap. OEM as well. The passage was also plugged from the head to the T stat housing. Flushed motor out and ran without stats installed. clean flow. Assembled with new parts and ran. Nice and cool now. This task is definitely a somewhat easy task. For a do it yourselfer. Jon, the south end has been very off this time of year as it normally does. Where you got your silvers and north treated us well. Good job. Nick Sent from my XT1080 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
