  1. thinking of my dads boat back in the day , 1968 80 hp evinrude on a thompson boat that baby would drink a 6 gallon can of gas in an hour . outboards sure have come a long ways from back when . the 8 hp tohatsu i troll with now slips gas and i am not sure what it burns cause it plumed into the main tank . i do know i am not going to gas station every week for gas for the boat like i did for the 2 stroke ..
  2. in open lakes discussion it said gates still lock as of sunday . i believe all state launches are closed . they also said east side is open . i afraid they will stay closed this year . so much for my state pass
  3. when with a guide is the client responsibility also for taken illegal ducks . i would think the Dec would check for NYS hunting license ,federal waterfowl stamps , steel shot and so on that the hunter is responsibility for. or this all fall on the guide. i am wondering if the client ask if hunting over a bait pile legal . what this guide has done is giving the sport a black eye ...
  4. good to hear you are back at it Ereabbit . seneca lake is hard fishing . i do like reading your reports . enjoy the the summer at your camp and good luck on the water .
  5. one of the two motors is drawing air witch is taken the prim from the lines and making your motors run lean witch is not good .there was just another topic about using valves or tees with priming bubs to hook a fuel line to the kicker . from the main tank . there is some good information in there check it out . i have a four stroke hook to the main tank . i used a three way valve with a prime bub in the line for the kicker only , cause i like to run the kicker out of gas at the end of the day . once i turn the valve to one side or the other the motor that is running can't draw air / fuel from the one that not being used . i had this set a short for it is new and it been working fine . just don't forget to turn the valve on for the motor you want to run or you won't get far don't ask me how i know

  9. Suttontroller94 hit the nail right on the head i been running east to west with seth green rods at 2.6 or higher and been getting lakers and LL . lakers be on the bottom leaders LL be on the top leaders . then i use my dipsy rods with spiny and Iron Duke wild child uv fly or cowbell and spin and glow i like lead core off my boards too .
  10. i lived on the seneca river . we would prepare for the floods come spring . the canal system would make the water level ready for spring by keeping winter levels low . who knows what winter snow pack and spring rains will bring when spring comes and the water level rises . putting the water at high levels in the winter is not the thing to do to make ready for spring !!! As far as i am concerned its power , money and greed is making the rules not common sense...

  18. great question to ask . i have a good size live well in my saber . in the spring time i can keep fish alive all day long by keeping the pump running non stop . i have a hard time quitting fishing when i am on the fish . as Sk8man said every tenth of a oz counts . so you cant go wrong running to the scale . here is what happen to us this past weekend . we pick up a 12. 3 and 9 .2 laker late afternoon and didn't have time to make it to the sale before it closed . so we fished right to dusk and loaded the boat drove to the store and packed the fish on ice and went to the weigh in bait shop ,slept in the truck till it open the next morning . both fish lost weight that knock us down a place or two . told my buddy we should have kept the boat in the water with live well running all night here is another way to keep them nice and fat in the live well , i had a nice laker in the well and had 10 sawbellys in the live well also the laker ate 4 of the sawbellys
