  1. Great job Nick and Great report! I was itching to go after you sent me those pictures.
  2. Congrats Paul! Well I talked a lot of smack and came up short 5lbs 4ozs 4lbs 3ozs 3lbs 3ozs
  3. Good luck Paul! I hope everything goes as well as it can!
  4. Border Patrol incident? I got to hear this story. Congrads on the the big fish!
  5. Wow! Nice job! That is a slob of a laker. I would have loved to seen a picture of him.
  6. I will be out on Cayuga Sunday! I don't know how you seneca girls are going to be able to keep up
  7. I have the Okuma convector 55 and an Okuma clarion 553. Both are outstanding reels for copper but I got to say this Clarions high speed is the only way to go. Especially when it comes to copper. Pair it with Okuma's classic pro GLT copper/leadcore rod as mentioned earlier.
  8. Owch Those hooks are painful. Great report!
  9. Owasco-I needed a break from trolling and had the munchies for perch. So Steve, Josh and I drove to Owasco and started fishing out in front of the pier of Emerson Park. I put the bow mount minn kota down and it had no juice. Switched the batteries no juice. Both batteries just had enough juice to start the motor. But I can tell you this! I was not going to let anything slow me down. We were picking up some reel nice Blue gill but no real big perch. So we motored to try some dock fishing and it was the same thing. Nice Blue gill but small perch. Motored again to one of the points that I usually jig Walleye and went in really shallow and we pounded the perch. We were picky trying to take home decent size perch for the deep fryer. We ended up getting flaged over by this guy who had some motor issues. I ended up giving him tow back. We all have been there and am always willing to do this cause you never know if it will be you in the same boat. We ended up taking 64 perch, 12 blue gill, and 1 really big rockbass home(I hate rockbass and they are a ton of them around) Cayuga- Launched at treman with Josh and Steve again. I went and hit all my perch holes. We were picking up some realy nice jacks but had to pick through a lot of small guys to get them. Some spots we fished we were picking up a perch on everycast On one of our moves to another spot Steve picked up a decent Small mouth on his first cast and it was game on for me. I ended up picking 5 more small mouth in the 3lb range on my ultra light rod with 6lb test. That was fun Ended up taking 59 perch, 4 blue gills and another deep hooked rockbass home. Now the fun part While loadind dads boat up the front hook on the boat where you winch it up snapped off. So I had to use the cleets to winch it in. Strapped her down and had no problems getting her home. But everything was all right after the first fish came out of the deep fryer Life is Good! The Secret Weopon
  10. Replace your primer bulb. Honestly I like walmarts primer bulbs cause they are really stiff and under ten dollars. I have a yamaha 15 hp and bought basspros gas hook up and that bulb was soft and went flat when the motor was running. Walmarts bulb has been working fine since I switched it over. Good luck and I hope this works out for you. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  11. Took my dad, Mom, my wife, my sister and her boyfriend fishing. We had a late start. I don't think we had a rod in the water until ten. Launched at Longpoint and right off the bat we were hitting some small lake trout but marking a lot of fish. I'm really not sure what I was thinking but I decided I wanted to fish over deep water and head south to Sheld. point. Well we only picked up a couple small LL's. Trolled south of sheld and nothing and nothing and nothing. We bounced from 150fow to 350 fow. That was a waste of time I was thinking. So I decided to pull all the lines and motor back to Long point. Setup just south of the point in 200fow. I had 2 dipsys, 2 riggers, and 300' of copper out. I was setting up another dipsy when I heard ZZZZZ on the copper. Rushed over grabbed the rod checked the drag and it was on the tight side. Now I really wanted to reel this in but I went to hand it to my dad but no. He wanted my sister to reel it in. so I handed the rod over knowing that she probably did not have the hang of this yet considering this was her first time trolling. I preached don't yank the rod but keep good tension on the rod. She yanked the fish then lowered the rod to fast letting slack in the line. Good bye fish! We did not fish much longer but we did manage to catch more fish. Matter of fact the last rod in the water was a dispsy and right before we went to pull it, Fish on. 5lb laker. Good ending to a slow day. I got to hand it to my wife. She does not get to go fishing with me much because of Nursing school which she finishes this week She drove the boat like a champ. I dare say she might have been the best driver I had on the boat yet 300' copper with some stinger lemon spoon, 500' copper with mtdew spin paired with salty ball, dipsy with Atommiks Shocker combo were the top 3 rods for me today.Every one caught fish although it was not a fast moving day. We all had fun. Sorry I was not on the radio Jason and others. I think I need a new antenna. Can't seem to hear others past a mile or so.
  12. I'm really hungry right now and that looks delicous!
  13. Trouble shooting is so much fun. You need to figure out if this is a fuel issue or an ignition issue. The easiest way I have found to figuring this out is to start the motor. You said when you give it throttle is dies. When it starts deing hit the choke. If the motor starts running a little better then you got a fuel issue. Most likely a carb. If no change or dies immediate then is more likely to be an ignition problem. It does not entirely eliminate a fuel issue but I would bet money on it. Hope this gives you a good starting point. 14. It helps but it will still coils up from memory of being on the spool. That is the one reason I always reel the swivel to the tip and never break my rods down. As soon as you take the tension off the line the more risk you take of getting a kink. Now this was recommended to me but I never really liked it but some guys will tie a 12ft section ro so of 50lb mono or braide to the end of the wire. This way you can reel all the wire on to reel so you can break down the rods no problem. I'm told, and should not effect tripping the dipsy.
  15. Nice job Andy! I would have responded to your open seat invite but got out work at 6 this morning and I was beat. Well I hope to catch you guys out there tomorrow. It should be a good day.
  16. Nice job! I can't wait for the 3 rod rule also!
  17. Great Job. I will be there tomorrow morning!
  18. Great job and again nice report! I do the same as Sean. I always reel my swivel to the tip of the rod. I never break down my wire rods. I just lay them on the floor at the end of the day. Every so often I let most of my wire out with the dipsy tripped.
  19. I think I am at a loss of words at the moment. Ok I will stick to the basics. Great Job! WTG! Nice Laker! Congrads! Nice fish! Great Report! Well I can say I am seriously jealous of the big laker that you and your clients were able to land and those elusive Bows that you are so talented at boating. Maybe some day I will figure those Bows out Again, Great job!
