  1. What swivels are you using for your wire. I use the same swivels that are on the spin doctors. They need to be big. I run mag dipsys with zero problems. My guess is when you are releasing the dipsy and on the way up the flasher spins faster and the swivel can't keep up and the dipsy starts spinning with the flasher fly.
  2. Nice job! Is that the Penn your thinking about buying?
  3. LMAO from this topic! Great stuff. I too fish the fingerlakes and I have not run into a single troller that did anything wrong it my book. I fished last falls B&B on Cayuga we had a crowd fishing in a tight group with very little issues. Some how I did manage to catch a guys leadcore on my center rigger. How it missed all my other lines beats me. After some comunication on the radio we mananged to save his leadcore and continue to fish. As mentioned in earlier post sailboats and other pleasure boater on the other hand Need to edumacate themselves on boating navigation laws and have some common curtacy.
  4. Great job Mark! Glad you made it out for those lakers. Spoon bite on the riggers for me seemed slow but everytime I checked my riggers I had a 6 to 9lb laker that I was dragging. I used all sorts of colors each time I went out and they were biting on everything for the most part. Great pictures by the way! Keep them coming. PS I dont know what it is about Tstorms but right before they hit fishing is always good
  5. Sounds yummy to me! I will give it a shot!
  6. I keep my inside dipsy on a 1 setting and we were on some flats on the north end over 130 fow. Traveling at 1.7mph down speed and bumping bottom with the mag dipsyies. I think we had 340 ft out. But as soon as you speed up that dipsy shoots up maybe 10 15 ft. Its something I been playing around with. I'm guessing here but I would say as soon as you let 300 ft out it don't go down much more unless you slow down. At a normal 2.1 down speed I don't think a mag dipsy can get much past a 110ft. I forgot to mention we had both inside dipsy's fire off for a double and then one of my outside dipsy's fired off wow. I think it pilled 30 ft of line in the matter of seconds and it was off just like that. I had to look to make sure we were still on cayuga I had that outside on a 2 setting standard size dipsy with a small spoon 160ft out. Here is a video I put together. First one.
  7. My down speed I tried to keep at 1.9, and that puts my gps at a 2.3 or 2.4. Wire and braid are very different but I would have to say they are pretty close or braid runs deeper cause of the smaller diameter. I keep my inside dipsys [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  8. Took Bob and Steve out for an all day fishing trip. Wholy cow was the weather a dream or what! The fishing was also Great We boated 45 to 50 Lake trout on the North end of Cayuga! No Joke! The biggest was 9lbs. We had a lot in the 6 to 8lb range. The heavy weight producers were white hammer spin doctor paired with Whisling dick fusion and green green dot spinny paired with salty balls. I ran those 2 setups all day 280 to 350 ft out on the dipsies. We stayed no shallower then 130 FOW. We took 3 fish on the 400' copper. Just could not get that to move. I had a great time and could not have asked for anything more A few notes, 1pm to 3pm was very slow fishing we noticed over the last 3 trips we have taken out, lots of wild lake trout that we have been boating, stomachs are full of bait fish. Here are some pictures. I will try to post a video tomorrow. Good luck to all who fish the lake trout derby this weekend. I won't be fishing until the Niagro Pro/AM.
  9. LMAO! I will be working this weekend. Sorry team Cayuga!
  10. Check out my thread Sunday for cayuga report [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  11. The overhand knot is fast and easy. It is Plenty strong enough. Having a loop to connect it to the spin doctor makes it easy to switch out the fly or the spin doctor to match the days productivity. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  12. I can't wait! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  13. Did you try setting your noise rejection on high? I think you have a lot of noise interference!
  14. I to have the EZ Steer and love it. My inboard/outboard does not have power steering and steers really easy. My only concern is how hard does your wheel turn with your main motor off. If you have to crank it with 2 hands then this won't work for you. But now that I think about it. I do think they design boats so the powersteering is just an assist unlike vehicles. Check it out and let us know. I'm curious now. Good luck
  15. I put the dual 50lb snaps on all my spin doctors and use the overhand knot on the flys. It works really well
  16. WTG! I love the pictures! I did buy the Cannon rod holders. I love them. Thank you for the advice.
  17. I will be at work but I will looking forward to seeing some pictures and reports! Good luck!
