  1. Nice job Rod! I like the Big Weenie Sticker on the cooler
  2. Nice job Jason and Sean! The smile says it all As Jason said those were my top flys as well. I don't have the Morning Wood though but you can bet its top on my list now
  3. Copper is not that bad. I run mine off the big boards with small 1# rubberbands. If you run flasher fly set ups, it will be much easier to let out. I tend to run it all. The new okuma glt copper/leadcore rods are your best rod for the money. As I tell a lot of guys who I take fishing just pace your self. Each copper rod for me has been catching 3-5 quality fish every trip. Not bad for a rod you let out and just forget about. I leave the drag loose so the clicker let's you know when one is on. 4. As fishtails mentioned there is a lot of info here and there is a good thread on spoonpullers forum that talks about running 6 on one side. I run the same size rods on each side. Mag dipsys on the inside on a 1 setting. The outside on a size one dipsy and I put it on a 3 setting to start. I would say the hardest part is sending them down the first 15 ft. This is where you are most likely to get a tangle. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  5. I was just at the oak and it was insane. I don't think I even came 200 to 300 yards of any boat. There was a pack of boats but they were a long ways away. There was some fleas but not as bad as cayuga. The 25 and 26 line was the best for me. From what I have been reading the entire south shore you can't go wrong with but the oak is the spot to go to. 6. Sounds to me you are doing every thing right. Just stick with it. Somedays the spoon bite is just the hot thing and some days it is not happening. Got to feed them what they like. With out a probe for down speed it hard to get speen right. Usually there is .5 difference. Surface being a little faster. Some days I have an entire 1mph difference.
  7. Go with the blacks. You won't regret it. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  8. Some good brands of spoons are stinger, dream weaver, northern king, warrior spoons and r&r spoons. I'm a big fan of stinger spoons. The NBK mag was really hot saterday for me. I typically run 1.8 to 2.2 mph down speeds. 2.1 being the most productive for silver fish. I run my spoons ten to thirty back from the ball. I usually don't run my spoons any deeper then 70 ft. I usually start one at 40, 50 and 60 but it depends on the temps. I also like running either cheaters or sliders with 6' to 7' leaders. Flurocarbon is all I use for my leaders. I usually tie the same length on my downriggers rods. Hope this helps [ Post made via iPhone ]
  9. Welcome aboard. This forum has it all. Jigging and trolling. You got the best of both worlds That must have been a blast.
  10. Just type resize photo on google and a website should pop up to do this. Just down load the photo and pick what size you want and then save the photo after it resizes it. Then back to LOU and download the photo to your avatar. Great job fishing. Ben helped me a lot when I first started. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  11. WTG! Can't wait to see you at the Cayuga LOU
  12. Thanks Sean! I will have to give a try again. I did not work that portion of the lake.
  13. Looking forward to it Rod. BW, In all fairness to the owner hook. I think I took 5 kings that were 15 to 24lbs before I hooked into another one that had to be 20+. It peeled a lot of line in a hurry and when it was done screaming I started to pull on it pretty hard. It was my fault. I should have taken my time. I try and give you a call tomorrow.
  14. Great job! The weather has been great these last few days. [ Post made via iPhone ]

  17. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water:515am-130pm Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Calm Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 40+ Total Boated:35 or so Species Breakdown:Kings and Steelhead Hot Lure: any thing green or white Trolling Speed: Down Speed:1.9-2.1 Boat Depth: 100-300 Best was 260-300(25-26Line) Lure Depth: 40-70 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Wow! I knew it was going to be a good day but really was not expecting this good. I took Tim, Johnathan, Kyle and Brain out with me. I talked Tim's ear off about fishing with me all winter in the plow truck So he was looking forward to going out with me and I don't think he was one bit disappointed We even used his truck to tow my boat. I got real comfortable driving that hot rod So for my day! I got 3 riggers down in no time but as soon as I started to rig my wires it was non stop! We had boated 4 steelies before 5:30. After several battles I finally got all ten rods out by I think 7 and I could not keep them in the water. I had 3 riggers , 4 divers, 300' copper,475ftcopper and 7 core. The only rod that did not take a fish was the 475ft of copper. I think it was just too deep. Dipsys parked at 145, 160, 220 and 260. Riggers were more productive 40 and 50 ft on spoons. Mag NBK was hot! I tried some R&R spoons I just got and caught some nice fish on them. Froggy I think was the best performer. MTdew with the spook, Albino gator with Ballzonachin, Seneca special with I think is the Crybaby, Shocker SD paired with skid mark, were all hot Flasher Fly setups. All Big Weenie flys that I just received. We were releasing most everything but keeping mature fish or deep hooked. We did keep are limit though! We landed a 24lb king and a 22lb king on a double. The 24 came off of the 300' copper seneca special. 22lb king came off of the 145 dipsy green SD a green big weenie fly? Also, landed a 13lb Steelie. It slammed the Spook fly! I mean slammed! I wanted to release it but it swallowed the hook so deep I had a hard time even reaching it with the needle nose plyers I also lost one on the copper that I know was twenty plus but I horsed him a bit and straighted the hook. We had doubles all day. 1 quad but only landed 2 fish and had a huge mess. We did go once a half hour without a hit but as soon as we switch directions with the wind it was game on. Really if you can call in, take time off and go fishing here. Do it. Its not fishing at all. It way better then that Doubled up on the 2 big Kings
  18. Diddo. www.attheoak.com is a great source for who does not know about it. Thank you Paul [ Post made via iPhone ]
  19. Awesome! I've caught a few on my Seneca Special. Thanks Jason 8 people on the boat. Were you runing a 16 rod spread
  20. Looking forward to seeing you there Rod!
  21. Ball bearing swivels You can try and bring your spin doctors up a little slower after you release them from the rigger. The faster you reel them in the more they spin out of controll.
