  1. Thanks! I use pinnacle studio. It uses the same video format so you don't have to convert them. I just wish my computer was faster. I can't really preview what I edit until its on YouTube or in a movie format. Tight releases helps hook more fish but the smaller guys tend to become shakers. I loosened that one just a bit. I had another one I could not release so I pulled the rigger up and adjusted it while the fish was on:) it's perfect now and the hooks are burried. I though about high lighting the tips of my rigger rods. They are hard to see as well. I love my eagle claw rods. I can't wait to see some of your footage! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  2. Here is a video from last weekend fishing the Atommik Challenge. Most of the fish in the video were caught on friday. I forgot to charge the battery saturday so I had to wait for it to charge and we missed some really good fishing action. The morning bite was Hot! We just couldn't find the big guys.

  4. Thanks everyone! It was certainly rough but after we landed a few fish it was not to bad. It just makes it that much more challenging. I got to have something on my feet too! That's steve who is barefoot. He is a nut! [ Post made via iPhone ]

  6. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6/22 and 6/23 Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: 1-3 Surface Temp: 68-72 Location: Staight out of Oswego LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 19- 28ish Total Boated:11- 18ish Species Breakdown:Kings and Steelies Hot Lure: Mag NBK and Big Weenie Rolling Rock Trolling Speed: 2-4 Down Speed: 2.1-2.7 Boat Depth: 130-300 Lure Depth: 90-110 Kings ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== We managed to bring 77.90lb box in. No where near the leaders but we had a great time. Friday we got out on the water around for prefishing at 9 and drove staight out in 300 fow and trolled east working are way back in. I started to turn green but then the steelies and kings kept us busy for a bit and everything was ok after that . It was certainly a challenge fishing in that weather. Boat control and speed was hard to maintain and keep in the sweet spot. It was a good learning curve for me. Our big king of the day I think for the day was 17lbs. The bite seemed to slow down after 12 but I had some what of a game plan for Saturday which is all I asked for. Saturday we setup west more in 300 FOW again and trolled with the waves and into them. Flasher/fly bite on everything. 2 dipsies set at 300 320 and 3 rigger set at 90, 100 and 110. 475 copper on the board. I didnt feel comfortable running much more then that in the weather but it was enough to keep us busy. Down speed 2.3 to 2.7 was the sweet spot to keep the kings interested. Anyways, it did not take to long for a king to smash the rolling rock. It peeled about 150ft of line and then it was off just like that. We had a steady action all morning but we kept loosing fish on their ential run so everytime we got a fish on I just slowed the boat down, which killed us. No doubles and it took forever to get the fish in it seemed but we stopped dropping fish. Which is what counts. The drags were loose. We kept picking at the fish but just could not pick up the big guys. Our biggest fish of the day weighed in at 16.55lbs. Again we had a great time and the food was great. Thank Tom and all who put this together. I will see you guys at the Salmon River Challenge. Here some pics from friday. I will post a short GoPro video maybe wed or when I get time.
  7. www.boatnames.net Vinyl names are super easy and should be under a 100 dollars but it will take a week to get them. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  8. Let us know how you make out. I have the same problem occasionally. Thanks [ Post made via iPhone ]

  10. Nice job Nick! [ Post made via iPhone ]
  11. This is how I store mine. I have dipsys set up for spoons and flasher flys so I like storing them in my box. Also I keep spare leaders tied up for fast replacement. I learned that from Jeff J. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  12. Not to disagree with rod buster but 30lb mono is all you need between dipsy and flasher fly, but it is a matter of preference and debate. Lol. Correct me if I'm wrong but big weenie and atommik use 50 lb flurocarbon to create the right whipping action behind the flasher. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  13. I agree with Gambler! Quality swivel I use is the same swiveles on spin doctors. Also, some people use a little backing or a little bit of tape to prevent the wire from slipping on the spool.
  14. I use the same. Metal shower curtain rings and rubberbands. Just got to find the lightest lb rubberbands. I get mine from staples. I love to use Scottie's but they are $ and you got to have a lot on board unless you want to pull your boards in all the time. I plan on picking up Scottie's slowly but I keep finding tackle that I want more. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  15. It's been a learning process. Here is my latest video that I have on another thread. Thank you [ Post made via iPhone ]
  16. Not even a debate in my eyes. Purchase 1 or 2 copper rods and place them on the outriggers or big boards. This is extemely effective for a number of reasons but briefly, it spreads your setup out. The copper will respond differently as you turn which in my opinion is one of the reasons it works so well. Another option is you could purchase more wire diver rods and run 2 off each side. I think these 2 options are your best bet. If you purchase copper your going to want 300' plus to get to the fish. Longer the better especially later in the year. Okuma GLT copper/lead core rods really help with copper Not to disagree with others but I'm not a fan of running 2 rods off of one rigger because of tangles and you can run free sliders or cheaters which are just as effective. Good Luck
  17. Several reasons. Mono has a lot of stretch to it and does not let you release the dipsy. Wire has no stretch. Next, fleas get really bad and wire cuts through it. Fleas dont stick to wire as bad as mono and braided line. We use 1000' of wire because kings will pull hundreds of ft out on top of what we put out. Hope this helps. [ Post made via iPhone ]
  18. Question about the rules concerning the number of rods. Is it still going by 2 rods per angler and no more then 8 rods or is there going to be a change in this rule because of the law change to 3 rods per angler. Either way I am all signed up! Thank you
