we've had decent luck dragging/bouncing crayfish off the bottom. Seem to have better luck with smaller crays over the big ones.

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6/9-6/10 Time on Water: never long enough Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: calm Waves: Less than 1 Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 6/9-10 6/10-10 Total Boated:7 8 Species Breakdown:Kings, coho, steelies, brown Hot Lure: meat, froggy SD/mirage Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 2 Boat Depth: 210-350 Lure Depth: 55-110 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== My sister has never been on Lake O, so decided Saturday evening would be a good start. The rain stopped, wind died down, and the water flattened out, so time to go. Got on the water around 5pm and headed in front of the red barn in about 210 fow. As we are putting down the secod rigger, up goes the pole, thinking it was a false release, we grab the pole and it starts rippin a little line, so give it to her for her first lake O fish. Few minutes later, in comes a 8lb brown. From then on steady action with skipper kings, and handfull of coho. Around 7:30, we workd out to about 250 fow, saw some marks around 100, so drop some meat down there, 5 min later bring in mid teens king. So, right back down there with the meat and hope for another. Around 815, I'm swapping lures on port rigger when I see the deep digger get SLAMMED. Grab the rod give it to the sis, and 15 min later, i grab the net, and he wanted no part of it. It darts to the side of the boat, and I look over, and I know I'll kill myself if I let her first (big) king get away. A second later, what does it do...goes under the boat and out the other side. I run over there and see it's about 3ft down. Now or never. Splash the net into the water, speed up pehind it and finally scoop it up and in the boat. She was pretty excited her first king weighed in just over 22lbs. the next day, Dad and I started working 240 fow and got nothing the first 45 min. and were sligtly annoyed with that. Bring up a rigger...tangled. ****. untangle and reset, 15min later, fish on. From there, it was slow, so started heading north in hope for steelies and 'hos. Hit about 280ft, and wire starts screamin'!!! 15 minutes later, boat 23lb king (sorry 'lil sis). The next hour, nothing. Hit about 350fow and for ****s and gigs, put out a bright pink spoon which we never used, and a few min later 8lb coho in the boat. (might have to start using this more often). Even though it was a slow day, can't complain about a glass lake, 80* sunny weather, and good eatin cohos.

With the crappy weather/wind the last week or so, and the calm weather we will have this week, how long will it take the lake to settle and get back to "normal"? Also, what's the best way to fish it? Go deep? Cruise around 100-150ft and see whats there?

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):4/14 Time on Water:6:45-12:30 Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: 1 or less Surface Temp:44 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 15 Total Boated:12 Species Breakdown:Brown, bow, coho, lakers, kings Hot Lure: Firetiger stick Trolling Speed: Down Speed: 2-2.25 Boat Depth: 40-50ft. Lure Depth: 20-30ft ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Never being out this early in the season, it was gunna b kind of a crap shoot for us on what and where to start. We say boats shallow and deep, so why not start between them and see what happens? Started trolling west out of Olcott, picked up a small 'bow and small coho right away. got west of the Red Barn, deep rigger goes of, pulls a little line, and in comes the first king of the year for us, (just a little guy, around 6lbs.) A few minutes later, pull in a decent brown off the shallow board. A little while goes by, shallow rigger goes then deep rigger goes, bring in a laker on on the deep, lost the other. Since both came off firetiger sticks, up came all of the riggers, and on went 4 firetigers. while lowering the port side rigger, the top stacker releases (buddy is notorious for having weak release sets), so grab the rod to bring it in and the reel starts screaming!! After about 10 minutes of fun, we boat our first good king of the season (22lb). From then on, action was pretty consistent for us, picking up a few more kings in the mid teens and couple more lakers. I just wish we picked up an Atlantic to get the good ol' Ontario Special.

Thanks for the advice lineman. We went out of the Catt. both mornings, had constant action the whole time with more doubles than we could count, very good average size sunday, ton of jacks. Kept around 150 the whole weekend and released about 75. Thanks again.

does anyone know of any launches close to Sturgeon Point other than SP and Hamburg beach? SP is closed until may 15th.
