  1. Ya I have. Was kinda like reeling in an old boot. Didn't taste much different either😜
  2. Crush a million trout Eggs jus to catch and keep a spent trout with ten rip holes and line burn all over it.
  3. I'd rather catch an Atlantic than any pacific salmon. Maybe returning the lakes their native species would be the best.
  4. I hope all the fish are spawned and gone. After the last two seasons it may be a little break for the fish.
  5. Nabbed 30 or so at Seneca this morning. Finicky yes. Like fishing in a fishbowl. So calm. Then out came the sun and they went to the depths
  6. You should troll the mouth of the creeks. I'd bet my next paycheck rainbows are staging if not running with all the runoff we've had.
  7. It's not that far off when you work 7 day swing shift and haven't tied a single fly yet.......😬
  8. Judging by parking lot at launch between the lakes looks navigable
  9. Seems since we as a state lost our "free hard working workforce" aka camp Monterey, looks like the dec can't build or improve the creek like they used to. My .02 is... Drop some trees in the creek. Allow the parr to have a place to hide and stay cool. I don't see the little trout like I used to.. Sad it is.
  10. U know it. Been a long winter. Can't wait for fresh chromes
  11. Tried to get a diary for Catharine. Biologist told me they don't have one for the tribs. I told him what a shame they don't . He agreed. Got a waneta Lamoka diary tho. I'm gonna do one anyway and send it to them come December.
  12. Probably robbed someone's tipup
  13. I fish finger lakes tribs. Have done so for 30 years or so now. I have seen it all. Spawn ready lakers in tribs, pike mixed in with rainbows and bullheads. one summer I witnessed rainbows in a trib with no name, right after a massive rainstorm. The fish do what they want when they want.
  14. Thanks for confirming that the eggs in the pic are eggs
  15. Def spawned out. lil pile of loose eggs under its head in the pic
  16. was wondering if ayt of you fellow walleye fisherman who have fished cayuta lake could help me out, I cant seem to pinpoint any certain spots or presentations to lure any of these tricky fish, any info will be appreciated, not looking to be spoon-fed. thanks. I have been fishing for them for the last few weeks.... no bites.
  17. saw a couple guys hauling in some nice perch at the pier in watkins.
  18. having fished the finger lakes tribs since I was very young, 29 years now. I have witnessed the hay-day of trout everywhere, the demise when the state bulldozed much of my favorite stream, the growth of the willow plantings planted after the dozing, the loss of many pool digger holes, but the one thing that doesn't change is the amount of fish taken unlawfully. the 1 fish a day limit is definitely a step in the right direction. I would like to see fishing over bedding fish illegal, a slot limit of 1 trout a day 18-24 inches, a delayed harvest, catch and release, artificial lure only from jan 1st to april 1st. only if dreams came true.... a lot of todays young fisherman may just witness what I did when I was young.
  19. I just about shart everytime a grouse flushes right next to me
  20. thanks for your help guys, straight shooting, awesome slugs, no wonder i cant find any
