  1. Yes - fished out of long point. jigged on the bottom then reeled up and thats when they took the jig.. Used a 1.5 jig with a white ice tube...
  2. Caught many lakers over 10 pounds north on cayuga jigging in 140 water. Enclosed picture of wife with one. Great day
  3. just as a suggestion. If fishing deeper than 75 - 100 feet go to a 1.5 jig and when drifting fling your jig out in the direction that you are drifting and let it free fall and your jig will catch up to your boat about the same time and you will be able to see it on your graph.Good luck.
  4. owasco Beautiful day on owasco today. The fleas were horrible though making it almost impossible to troll. even on downrigger cable . On a good note, jigged up some nice lakers. only saw one other boat.
  5. Spawning lakers sure can be tough but they will hit a jig though. Its persinstence that pays off. Havent hit cayuga lately but i usually do good just north of the park in 80-100 feet of water. If its calm, sometimes deeper is better. You can fish for 2 hours and get none, then the next hour its limit time. Fished owasco last week and jigging was excellent. The 3 fish that i kept were all females with eggs.Fished the south end about 4 points north of the marina.Lake is very low. Good luck.
  6. Those bees look like the honeybee lure. When and where are they available in NY or on line. Thanks
  7. Picked up this beauty yesterday out of long point. Also caught 4 small lanlocks and 2 other small bows. I think they are there but the small ones hit first. Caught all down 50. Did not mark many lakers on bottom. I think they are south for mating. Awful boat traffic.
  8. I beleive from what i just read, that your unit sensitivity value is from 1 to 20 and is set at the default factory at 10. Try cranking her up to 15 especially with the greener water we have now from the weeds. You can try the simulation mode too. I only have had lowrance so yours is new to me. Good luck. Lots of trial and error with a new unfamilar unit.
  9. That screen sure is clear. There should be something showing from the top down some and you should also see weeds and some debri and bait. Im no expert but i would bump up the resolution until something shows up. Cayuga has a lot of weeds right now but the catching has been pretty good. Usualluy owasco is good at the south end this time of the year. Will be jigging soon. Enjoy your outing.
  10. The lake is private and is diffucult to get on unless you know someone that has a camp on the lake. Years ago the Chesnut inn used to give access but that is not the case anymore. Have caught a few nice lakers and whitefish out of there many years ago but again the fishing has gone down hill. I would try the deep hole of of the inn. Lakers are all native because the state does not stock it. Jigging would be my go to or lead core. It will be very interesting how you make out. Have a great day. that lake is in broome county. Either scotts or the chesnut has a huge lake mounted that came out of there.Have not fished it in 30 years.Be sure to post your results. Thanks.

  16. Thats a beauty. Took a limit of nice ones a couple of weeks ago also in 150 feet. 1.5 once jig is a must. Biggest one hit almost at the boat. The point north of long point was hot a couple days ago for us in 100 feet. I have a hard time jigging shallow.Am going to try deans next. Good luck to all.
  17. I use a med weight ugly stik with a abu ambassauder 5500 reel spooled with 30 pound braid to 15 foot floro leader 12 pounds, then a barrel swivel and another 2 feet of floro to the jig. I took off about 3 inches off the tip to make it a little more stiffer but still flexable. Jig is 1.5 once with a small zoom tube.
  18. Jigged north of long point yesterday. Tried deep and shallow but fish were in 100 feet of water with deeper water closer to shore. Was alone so only picture is after that my wife took.Caught 2 this size on white jig with char. pepper tube. Lots of marks in the right place
  19. Use my hds 5 and it works beautifully. Can see jig at 150 feet and lakers coming off the bottom. Just need transducer with blue connector and power cord. Enclosed pict.

Lots of lakers on the bottom on the south end not too far up on the left from launch. There is a point with about 7 chairs on beach where i was today.Only jigged up 3 lakers but bottom was loaded. They are ready to spawn so have lockjaw. My buddy fishing the same area caught 2 beautys trolling suttons on bottom in 80 feet of water. Good luck.

  23. Personally i think the archery season is way too long and is not fair to the gun hunters, especially the older timers. Starting should be the 15th or later for either fun loving. By the time gun season opens most bucks will be hanging, shot at and will certainly be nockternal.50 days of bow season before gun is insane.Just my thought. I bow hunt too.
  24. Launched around 7 and headed north to my usual spot. Caught lots of lakers and this beauty. Headed back around 11. Getting out of the park was not very enjoyable.
