  1. I guess I didn't think of the taking, only the possessing part. It still isn't enforceable regardless
  2. I have never seen this before. I'd like to read that regulation Edit it is not illegal "Which takes us to the main point of the blog’s title. With a push to make things more restrictive as far as creel limits in Lake Ontario, should we also be looking at a law or regulation that does not allow captains and/or mates to keep their limits, too? Currently, it’s a gray area. If they have a fishing license, they are entitled to their own limit of fish." https://www.outdoornews.com/2019/02/11/in-the-wake-of-new-regs-proposals-is-it-time-to-restrict-captain-and-mate-limits-on-charters/
  3. We have pages and pages of people arguing about it. And like admitted, you couldn't produce a picture of a whole limit. This should really be the end of the argument is that on the whole, it doesn't matter if the limit changes from 3 to 2 it will impact probably .005 percent of all the trips on Lake Ontario and you could probably even circumvent it if you really want to by keeping the Captain's and mate's limit on charters if you insisted
  4. So we are arguing that their day would be ruined because they could only keep 10 steelhead not 15? That wouldn't even be a legal limit of steelhead under the proposed regulation. Again after all this debate I'm sticking by that this will have 0 impact on lake fishing or tribs because people hardly ever limit out on steelhead on the lake anyway
  5. Ok so we are arguing that saying sorry guys you could only keep 8 not 12 would ruin their day?
  6. Still waiting on a pic of a charter with a lake limit of steelhead
  7. Just a tip I have found I take a disposable heater (similar to hard warmers). They make them as body warmers with a sticky side, and I stick about 5 inches below my bellybutton on my underwear. You would be amazed how warm your feet stay if the blood is warmed up before it goes down your legs. I can stand in crotch deep water all day in winter with breathable waders
  8. Could you use bobber stops?
  9. Problem is they were never rated for heavy weights

  11. are those the shipped prices?
  12. I'm still waiting on pics of lake Ontario charter pictures with 12+ steelhead as their creel It simply doesn't happen enough for this proposal to matter. It is simply lip service to trib guys
  13. I do not think this change will impact the steelhead population one bit.... show me a lake ontario charter with a 4 man limit of steelhead.... hardly if ever happens
  14. This is very informative. I was unaware the NYS Governor controlled lake Ontario levels
  15. I am missing one aspect. Do you basically start your troll, find desired depth and let it hit bottom and reel up a little and that's how much line you have out?
  16. Awesome job Pete, this is absolute top notch tutorial. I especially liked all the background. You have a real talent as an educator
  17. This is not to spread rumors and hear say but I read the entire incident involved a mishap with the anchor and anchor line
  18. Yes, they were covered or stored. There was a specific run of them that had this condensation issue that they resolved supposedly. Issue is you don't know how old new ones you are buying are
  19. I have had 2116's for 2 years and had to replace the electric counts that came stock with them. I had to replace them 3 weeks after install due to condensation build up in them. It is such a known issue that all I had to do was call Scotty and tell them and they sent me 2 free and I sent them the serial number of counters. My friend who is a regular charter has gone threw 12 on his 4 riggers in 5 years
  20. I do in fact and that is why I recommend 2116's thanks for asking And if you can link me to mechanical 2116 counters for them I'll buy them right now
  21. correct... I doubt he is buying riggers from 94
  22. Scotty rigger counters have history has issues fogging up and becoming ruined from condensation Also they are self contained battery controlled I believe so the counters do have a "life" to them.
  23. One downside on Scotty is the counter issues but that's just something ya live with
