  1. Really any green glow or green crush in color will work.
  2. I got 2 of the quad vertical holders and they are definitely a quality rod holder. I haven't mounted them to the boat yet but the guy is great to work with.
  3. I run my fly flashers on both. I have been running spoons on my divers more because the added drag from the fly and flasher doesn't allow or to drive as deep.
  4. How long are the spinning rods and what action? For Trout you want a 8' rod with some backbone to it. Somewhere around a medium action in the 8' and maybe med heavy in shorter rods. Running off boards is going to be tough unless you add some weight to the line to get it down (1 or 2 larger split shots). I would run 100'+ leads from the release to the lure. I have caught smaller browns casting from shore on 7' medium action rod and 15lb braid. It was fun but make sure you have a good 100 yards of line it is hard to turn the brown so it ran pretty much anywhere it wanted till it got tired. Like mentioned above run a good flouro leader (nothing that you can purchase from the walmart shelf).
  5. I always store mine in the lowest possible position.
  6. You're not kidding there wish it would have happened long before this gun legislation went into effect. The fact is they know we would thrive without them and they funnel all of our hard earned money into that god forsaken place.
  7. When will they be in effect? I want to get my wife a lifetime license asap if this is the case.
  8. My dad has the willie bait file it's too bad they don't make them anymore. He wishes he had bought a couple or at least a few more sections. Those things were a great idea a little before their time.
  9. Now for you that use these are the 8" big enough for Mag spoons and Deep divers.
  10. Mine came with the name sea mist. I didn't really like it at first but grew on me and decided not to change it. The previous owner ran it in Florida and NY so I figured he got Sea Mist from Ocean fishing.
  11. Here is what I was refering too. The site seems like a total scam but a neat idea. http://buydeeper.com/deeper
  12. Looks like this will be on my to buy list. I currently use the little clear plastic plano boxes and it is a royal PITA having to untangle all the time.
  13. I was wondering if anyone has used one of these? I think I might buy one for my stick baits and one for my spoons. It would make life so much easier only having 2 boxes for all of them maybe even put the spoons with the stick baits. http://www.lakemichiganangler.com/store/Special_Mate_8__Crankbait_Tackle_Box.htm
  14. We did that out of sodus and hooked up with a few but trolling was much more productive.
  15. Does this have anything to do with the bluetooth speed and temp sensor? I saw something somewhere about a speed and temp sensor uses bluetooth linked directly to your phone. No special wires, cables or transducer only your smart phone and was around $200. I might be wrong...
  16. You never now with the changing climate. I think it would be awfully strange to have a rut this late but I am sure stranger things have happened.
  17. ok thanks Chad. I find using google is a little easier to find specific info than the search feature on most forum sites.
  18. I used to use Google to search for posts on LOU but now when trying it I only get the homepage. Google finds the post but every link brings me back to LOU home page. Here is an example of what I would do: site:lakeontariounited.com dipsy diver It will yield results but can not get to the topic. What gives Chad? Thanks, Chas
  19. I maybe mistaken but I think you can buy a hose barb style brass plug in plumbing at just about any hardware store. otherwise I would look into some of the smaller drain plug style plugs.
  20. What pitch is the prop and shaft length. I am guessing 25" shaft by the photos but figured I would ask anyway. Thanks, Chas
  21. Are lakers the same as browns? I would love to get into some nice big lakers this coming season.
