  1. Ya I would rather see it go longer into december than start earlier. At least then I can hang the deer overnight so I don't have to stay up the same night I shoot the deer to quarter it and keep it from going bad.
  2. Good deer man! I'm glad someone is seeing deer. I have been skunked so far this year. Looking forward to hunting my parents land this weekend hopefully I see the big boy! Congrats again!
  3. I shot this deer in 2008. It made NYS big buck club. I am tooting my horn a little but this deer is the biggest we have seen in our area in 10 years. It ended up scoring 153" with deductions and 161 gross.
  4. I forgot to add this last week but my wife caught her first salmon. It was only 8 lbs. but still good eating! Caught it off the rigger but gave her a good fight. She was complaining about her arm getting tired but she kept at it.
  5. 8 total off the boards and 2 on the riggers. All really depends on the amount of people. If only 2 I like to run 5 on the boards and1 on the rigger.
  6. I actually laughed out loud when I read this^^
  7. Your joking right? My shotgun shoots just as nice as my rifles. If your taking hail-mary shots with a shotgun you don't deserve to be hunting. Use the correct tool for the job.
  8. I just use ALL (brand) fragrant free washing liquid on my clothes with a earth scent dryer sheet. Then on person I use fragrant free soap and shampoo. No need to buy the name brand stuff when its all the same. I do use a cover scent when in the woods but I leave my clothes after washing in a rubbermaid tote with earth scent disks.
  9. Which would effect the fishing in IL more shocking the waters and removing any and all carp or allowing them to reproduce?
  10. The current plan doesn't seem to work...I would be willing to bet the lake is well below their "Minium" right now. The water level is stupid low, many ramps are barely usable. Look at the Margaretta ramp in sodus it has been closed half the boating season because of water levels. This is going to start hurting the local businesses if people stop going to the lake.
  11. Right one rolmops! Get these things out of here! There has to be some sort of chemical that will sterilize the fish and not allow them to breed. I wonder how many native fish are in the areas that would in impacted by netting the entire river.
  12. I am guessing its pennzoil synthectic blend? If so, Can ya hold 2 gallons? Where can I pickup?
  13. The question is can. Yes you can but would I? No. I have much better rifles for taking larger game. The smallest I would use is .243 or 6mm (same bullet different cartridge.) The .243 is a easy 300+ yard gun and is perfect for small kids and women.
  14. Next weekend we head to the north country with old tags!!
  15. Here is a photo my buddy got last week pretty wicked! There were a total of 5 deer 4 were fighting.

    Gas???

Really? They're still allowed to use lead additives? That's not too cool if so, organic lead compounds like that are the worst. Anyway after an Ithaca station finally got E0 and I switched over my '85 2 stroke is running twice as nice as it did on the E10 junk. Ahhh the sound of a smooth idle, it's much happier now. Hope they keep it around. And I'm also interested in a separator, seems like every time I dump my tank I find a little water in the bottom. Hasn't caused problems yet but I'm sure it would if I ran the tank down near empty. What 2 stroke engine are you running lead in? There are no valves in a 2 stroke engine and it only applies to the non hardened seats in a cylinder head. They have had hardened seats for the past 40 years. You can run the separator any where in the fuel line as long as you don't install inside the motor cover. Also I would recommend running larger fuel line to compensate for the restriction of the separator (does not apply to I/O or Inboards).

    Gas???

The only thing you have to worry about with ethanol fuel is the alcohol eating your fuel lines and float bowls. If you re-build the carbs with a ethanol approved kit (which most replacement kits are) you will be fine. This stuff about fuel absorbing moisture is bull honky and has been proven (simple google search.) Ethanol is bad for vehicles that were not designed for it because the components in the fuel system not its chemical properties.

    Second Anchor

No you don't need heavy. My father-in-law laughed at me when I showed him my anchor. You need a danford anchor. Mine only weighs 10lbs. and holds my 23' Ocean boat without any problems. I let out about 1.5x the depth and it catches. Make sure and use a chain in front of the anchor line about 2' is all I use.
  19. I report deer but this whole calling in thing is the biggest pain in the butt. I would much rather just fill it out and drop it in the mail a lot easier and I feel there would be a lot more reports each year. Also the calling in of the tags isn't the majority of the problem. When they were mailed many people didn't bother mailing them either. The problem are the Amish and Men-n-Knights. They will strip a property of any game in a few short years. I live in Amish country and see 8 maybe 10 year old kids walking around the fields with shotguns looking for deer. Or they push them to their parents. On our family property we have never needed to push deer to see them. The deer walk around like they aren't effected but it's mostly because we don't shoot everything.
  20. Better off getting a synthetic material to mount on the transom and drilling into that so if you mount it just a little too low you aren't making new holes each time.
  21. You need something like this. Kind of crude but you get the idea. I can get a lot more in depth if you like this is just a quick 10 minute drawing. Here is a better drawing of what I meant earlier.
  22. Is the front of the housing large enough to bolt thru and into the back of a torpedo weight? Take a nice sized torpedo (15lbs.) cut the tail off and drill it out deep and tap it. Using a LONG bolt attach it to the back of a torpedo! now if someone had a way to cast a nut and washer inside of the torpedo that would work great. You would have to make sure and get the balance right but that shouldn't be too hard just cut off little chunks at a time. *Disclaimer: All rights and patents reserved by Chaston Brightman.* haha
  23. I have had walleyes do this in the spring. Only thing with walleyes is that it is that the line going out speeds up just a little compared to if a king were to grab on it.
