  1. how do you run 4 dipseys and 2 riggers? seems like tangle central. cant even picture it ^^What he said.^^ Do you run the outside dipsys on #4 and the insides on #2? I have ran my 2 dipsys outside the riggers on #3 and 2 riggers off to the side of the boat. I would think if I put the inside dipsys on anything less they would run into my riggers. I would think your outside dipsys would be into your copper lines...
  2. Are they spinning freely? I have had a swivel get sticky (for unknown reasons) and do the same. I am guessing your using mono. I forgot to ask if it is a swivel or ball bearing swivel. You have to run ball bearing swivels no matter what otherwise the swivel will get stuck in its rotation.
  3. The questions is what are they going to do about it? I would have liked to see the lake raised this year knowing there wasn't going to be the usual amount of run-off. I have talked to several "old timers" and they said this is the year to put a concrete ramp in because this is the lowest the water has been in 60 years. If we don't get the snow we normally do next year my father-in-laws waterfront will be extended another 10' from what it is now.
  4. Alright I will try shortening up the leads a little and see if that helps. I will also try spacing them apart a little more. You run the FF combo on the bottom with a spoon above or both FF stacked?
  5. Ya all my leaders are tied about 27" right now and want some longer ones. I was planning on using the same flouro and gonna get some beads. I just wasn't too sure on the hook size I will look into the salt water trebs. Thanks, Chas
  6. If you decide to separate them I might be interested. Let me know! Thanks, Chas
  7. We have been doing well in the deep water up at henderson so if it's anything like henderson deep is your better bet.
  8. We ranged from 100'-130' and touched 140' a few times. There wasn't anything in shallow we trolled the NE end 80'-100' and there wasn't a mark on the screen. Once I got into the 100' on the Henderson side we hooked up with our 1st fish. After that we trolled back up in the same area and didn't have a mark (Sun started coming out) we headed deeper and started marking fish stacked on one another but were super tight to the bottom. I was fishing 5' from the bottom and could manage only 2 more hits. My best combo was a Mnt dew glow crush (I think that's what it was called) and UV Green fly. That combo took every hit off the riggers. I didn't have a single fish hit my spooks spoons or my dipsy spin dr. I had the dipsys down ~90'. Basically when the sun came out they acted like walleyes and hugged the bottom in the deep water. We got more hits when it was over cast out than sunny. I figured that when the sun came out the spooks would get busy but nothing.
  9. I was going to tie some of my own hooks up so I can have reserve. Anyone know the treble size I know the single hook size but wasn't sure on the treble. It looked like a 2/0 or 3/0. Thanks, Chas
  10. Tried stacking and I don't think I am going to bother. I had tangles almost every time the bottom released.I was running my lower line back 30' and the upper was 15' both spoons they were 10' apart. Do I need to run a short lead on the top and further apart?
  11. I used them this weekend and they worked out awesome! Nice and stiff to release the dipsys and could easily horse in some big fish if need be.
  12. We hit it yesterday went 1 for 3. My wife caught her first King and my father-in-law went 0'fer. We got out a little late but stayed at it. It was definitely better in the morning then the afternoon. All ours were on riggers.
  13. I just want to thank the guy if he is on here for returning my dipsy and spin dr. Not sure whose fault it was but thanks for returning the equipment. It's nice knowing there are people out there that courteous. Thanks again, Chas
  14. Does anyone just let out line with the clicker on and the spool tensioner on the snug side? I have done that a few times with no issues.
  15. I found a couple rods I would give a shot. They are the Okuma GLT Copper/Leadcore with larger better quality guides. I am using them as my dipsy rods instead of the 10'ers. The shorter 8'6" rod is easier to handle on my boat than the 10'ers. They seem to be stiff enough compared to my downrigger GLT rods which had a tough time releasing the dipsy. Anyone else use these rods?
  16. If the thermo sets up there might be some browns. We will be getting some light winds so it should give the water some time to calm down.
  17. Seneca ?!?!?!?.............why the perch hitting ? O man listen to the trash talking...When you going to leave Varisty and come up to the Pro's? haha just kidding guys, I am sure you could both show me a thing or 2.
  18. Bring her with you...You won't miss the birth that way. haha
  19. Ok I was just wondering if it has changed in the last 2 weeks. Last time I was up there it was around 70.
  20. Could anyone key me in on the depth of the thermocline over the depth of water near Henderson? Thanks Chas [ Post made via iPod ]
  21. I saw a grady go straight up in the air twice! the boat was flying going into the waves launched it once stood her right on the motor. The driver stayed right in it to stand her right up again 5 seconds later. It was a crazy sight and I think the guy got the point the 2nd time becuase he slowed waayyyy down.
  22. Someone should incorporate the the downrigger weight into the design so it can do double duty.
