  1. in that case nanofil? The heaviest lb test in nanofil is 17.
  2. pretty sweet. Should have gotten a photo of the tourney standings.
  3. My biggest thing is the diameter of the braid. I would like to stay with the smallest diameter line possible.

  5. Ok thanks guys. Would 300yards of 30 be enough? Right now i have have it backed with 20lb mono. [ Post made via Android ]
  6. Just what the title says. Will it suffice? Thanks, Chas [ Post made via Android ]
  7. What brand rods and reels? [ Post made via Android ]
  8. What is the boat rigged for motor wise? [ Post made via Android ]
  9. I have 90 hours in the past 2 years so I think I'm good. Do they need to be over 3 years or is it ok i have it 2 years? If I go back another year it will just add more time. What will I need for the signature of time on another boat? Just something a long the lines of "I name certify name has completed a total of blank hours on my boat." Thanks, Chas [ Post made via Android ]
  10. How precise do the amount of days have to be. I know they date back as far as me at 15 years old but the big thing is the past 3 years with the 90 days. I don't know the exact dates but in the past 3 years I have way more than 90 days. Also I have been on my dad, grandfather, father-in-law, and and Grandfather-in-law boats before owning my own. How would I get them to sign documented hours? I have ran boats from the age of 12 needing my boater's course. How would a person go showing the past 90 days in 3 years and how detailed should my log be (weather, temp, wave height,...)? I have photos with dates so I know I can get those days but the other ones when we were skunked or got pushed off because of weather are what I can't remember.
  11. I have heard bait wise they are killing crawlers and shiners. Not doing much on crayfish. Depths kinda depends if your going for large mouth or small mouth. Look for ledges and drop offs and you should be golden. The bass fishing lately has been pretty tough with the winds.
  12. Looks like everything is staying the same for lake Ontario?
  13. I am Planning on doing the same with my setup. I am running 30lb big game 20lb power pro braid and 20lb flouro after the snubber and dipsy. These are also my walleye rods but seeing how the walleyes are in Canada where I fish I am going to give Deep water trout and salmon a shot. [ Post made via iPod ]
  14. I run 2 one is my FF and the other is gps. I paid less doing it that way. I bought the gps at bass pro on black Friday because of the killer deal I got. My FF is black and white but at the time was one of the top of the better units. I will upgrade eventually but know my unit well so it's hard to buy a new one. My units are HumminBird for my FF and lowrance for my gps. Both work well but like the HumminBird for its ease of use and has better mounting options (swivel base is nice stock) [ Post made via iPod ]
  15. Just finished the article good reading. What conversion would i need to use when putting the dipsy on a #1 or .5 setting? I have #1 size dipsys in black and chartreuse aLlnd snubbers. I would like to run my rigger straight down and the dipsys out to the side a little. [ Post made via iPod ]
  16. I have been searching for the past 2 hrs. and have found some good info but not exactly what I was looking for. I currently do not run any dipsys but want to desperately. I have 1 dipsy that is 4-1/8" with the ring. I would like to run 1 more on the opposite side of my boat but can not decide on the size. I currently run a downrigger on 1 side (not double stacked.) All of my rods are outfitted with power pro braid. This dipsy gig is new to me but I would like to be able to fish deeper water instead of waiting until the fish start to move in. What size dipsy should I purchase to achieve depths of 50' on braid? Also needed to be taken into consideration is the setting on the dipsy. And I will be running some sort of spoon or fly. Thanks, Chas
  17. Do you need to be a charter to allow someone to go fish with you?
  18. Make sure your tank is vented correctly or it will cause a suction on the line and the fuel pump cannot overcome the suction so the motor dies and allows the tank to re-pressurize and it all happens again. Mine was doing this it would troll for about 20 mins. then just die. once it died it would start right back up and run for 20 mins. it took me a couple tries till it dawned on me what was happening.
  19. Do those first but you might need to rebuild your points. Also if it sat for 2 weeks and you started it you could have water in the gas seeing how it settles to the bottom. Did you run any dry gas in it to remove what water could be in there?
  20. Ok that was my thought. I figured I would start trolling for them early september.
  21. I haven't fished the henderson/chaumont bay area for salmon or trout in the fall. So I was just wondering in the past when do they start to shallow up in the 30-50 fow range?
  22. How has it been with the water level in the past? Does he get that dredged? I launch out of Margaretta a lot and those docks and launch get really shallow.
  23. I wear those worldwide fishing t-shirts you see a lot down in Florida and they have 20 spf built into the shirt (gotta love the vents to keep you cool.) My father-in-law wears what we call a rice patty hat, when you see him coming across the water and the front brim is pushed straight up from the wind has to be the funniest thing ever. Hat wise I just wear my ball cap. I do need to invest in a bimini for the old boat but have toughed it out without having any on other boats.
  24. A friend of mine told me basil (the herb) works great. Might be worth a try. Make up a small amount in a coffee filter twist tie it to the top of your shoe.
  25. It depends. If it was my first 14lb. walleye ever I would keep it for a mount. If i caught another 14lb walleye after catching 1 I would take a picture and send it back. I would only keep 1 trophy with that being said it if I caught a larger walleye 15 or more I would still throw it back seeing how I already have my trophy.
