  1. Excellent job guys, nice to see the water and good people having a good time!! As far as Capt. Jim, my prayers go out to him as that was my fathers name also who had cancer, not a pretty sight, and I miss him dearly. I would hope with the new tech. they have today he will have a full recovery
  2. I'm sure you will find some bugs I know I had quite a few and this year I will be brining her north for the first time in 2 years.
  3. Nice Maybe Mother Nature will let it shine for us
  4. That is 1 big a$$ perch way to go Steve!!
  5. VERY-VERY nice, a lot of work but now you know what you got, A excellent looking and fishing boat that will serve you well for years to come. I basically did the same thing with a 1982 Sea Ray 22ft cuddy, I know first hand what you went through, as I did the whole ball of wax myself also.
  6. I hear ya there, That's why I make most of my add on's with twin girls age 9 and me not working due to back surgery I have to use my resources wisely, I totally get it.
  7. I used a kicker bracket made by Adventure Marine, I didn't buy one, I made one they give you the #s and with a little engineering you can make out the rest if the #s and it fits sweet on the swim platform of my boat and the steering works well with my brackets and rod I already have and a 20" shaft looks like it will work, time will tell. It's nice just step out on the swim platform and lower the kicker, and hook up the steer rod and fire up the kicker and we are moving along at 1.5mph just a little over an idle with a 15hp Evenrude 2 stroke , it's what I have, so I'm using it, the 3 gallon fuel cell fits in a milk crate and that's on the platform also along with a 96QT igloo cooler, so my fishing area is free of that clutter.
  8. I watched a program where they where catching salmon and coho that where coming out of the ocean and up the streams like British Columbia and Alaska they were using something similar, but they never really showed you the lure, but damn that looks close. And those bright orange colors would be of a salt water lure? I'm by no means a lure expert but I do watch a lot of fishing shows being laid up with my back surgery.
  9. From the # of posts he made 21 since 06 I think he wants you to call him or e mail him. He has both ways in his post. That's my take on it anyway. I'm going to call Monday will post what happens PAP.
  10. I like the one that looks like Nemo, LOL
  11. Thanks to all that posted their thoughts, really appreciated your replies!! PAP.
  12. I was wondering if any of you guys can point me in a direction for the best place to purchase new stick baits for browns and walleyes. Over the winter I know people mentioned different places, and I saved them on my favorites, but since my laptop decided to crash I lost all info, so if you could help me out I would appreciate that. Thanks PAP.
  13. Maybe you were thinking Lake Erie? It's been the 1st Saturday in May as long as I can remember.
  14. Good luck on your hunt!! and if try your idea please be careful!!
  15. I was thinking the exact same thing and kept reading and yellowdog seems to think the same
  16. I have the same issue, 1982 Sea Ray cuddy, the track system will work I use them, fist time I made small plates to mount everything, then I bought a 12" piece from Cabelas knowing I could return it if it didn't work, but it did work. I only use the plates that fit into the tracks themselves because I made my own planer masts and rod trees. I also used a 1 7/8 inch piece that fit under the tracks for more support.
  17. Bob makes some of the most amazing color schemes I ever saw will definitely have to pull some of them this year. I'm thinking the smolt and fingerling size should be a good hit on the walleye menu.
  18. YA, I got mine in the driveway, was behind a 5ft wall of snow from plowing the driveway up towards my boat, when the days last week got to near 50 degrees I used my snow blower and chopped the 20ft wide path through the snow bank and now she sits in the driveway. I know how you feel lakebound, but way to early to fire the new girl up. It's 14 degrees this morning and no real big brake in sight yet. Lots of work to do on her but to cold to uncover yet with the talk of snow later this week, I'll keep her blanket on until better weather. I don't foresee a need to rush into things yet. I'll tinker on the trailer/lights ect. till warmer weather, good luck to all and hope the snow didn't damage to many covers, I got a little snow damage to my cover which I hope didn't effect my top, which I didn't take off but rolled it up like as if to trailer.
  19. Nice walleye guys!! YA it looks good to see soft water and fishing poles and especially a net!! good job, and let the temps rise.

    Lead Core?

Anytime you go over 2mph with any type of weighted apparel they render rather useless. Go on to blood run website and read what they have come out with for us walleye fisherman at speeds of 3mph or better they have come out with copper for us walleye guys that they claim will achieve our goals at the speeds that have become popular with walleye fishing, seems to me the 1.5mph days will be more like 3mph days. I wasn't going to post this as they sent it to me via. Email, than I thought about and said to my self, I'm not like that people have been so good to me why not share the info, they also have a new braid focused towards the walleye fishing, take a look and read what they have to say it's so close to what JT been saying all along it scary!!
  21. Welcome to the site HOTFISH. It's nice to have our neighbors from across the border to share info with, this is by far the greatest site on the internet as far as I'm concerned, there is a wealth of info from the great people on here. Lot's of veterans to lake O on here to help us rookies out, and maybe some Canadian info to switch things up would be a nice idea!! pap.
  22. I built my engine cover from scratch, the original one from Sea Ray was falling apart and was way to large, and I used the 1/2" fiberglass with the silver paper on one side and it made a world of difference!! I have a Merc. 350 and when trolling you can barely hear that it's running.
  23. SK8man sure is a wealth of information and did an excellent job of identifying your spoons, the guys on here really know there $hit when it comes to lures!! They have helped me out a lot, I don't know how far you want to take this, just a thought maybe you could get a hold of Bob Fuller and ask him if would work his magic on the spoons that are blank, and maybe he would redo the ones that are blank and turn them into a thing of beauty. Just a thought. I thought a few other guys were getting into air brushing lures also. hopefully someone will chime in and be willing to help you out, also I had the guy at Fat Nancy's make me dodgers that I lost and he didn't have them in stock, but he told me if I had a day he would make me what I wanted, he even had e chip blanks also, so maybe that could be a avenue you would want to pursue. If you tell them what species you want to target they might be able to make them for you, well enough of me rambling on, but things like this intrigue me, I always want to do what most say can't be done!! Or you could give a shot yourself
  24. I never trailered my kickers even on the solid mount brackets. It only takes a few minutes to hang the kicker on the bracket and hook up the fuel line and the EZ-Steer and like Long line said put a safety cable on the kicker to the corner D shaped hold down. I know of 2 kickers on the bottom of lakeO and was on the boat the one did the deep six!! I told Roland "you better safety cable that kicker" aahh where's in going to go, well I guess he found out, it hung on the fuel line for a while, but not long enough for me to grab the motor, all I needed was another 30 seconds or for him to listen to me and safety chain the motor!! Good luck in what ever direction you chose to go. PAP.
