I don’t live on the lake so I’m not directly impacted, but you can bet we will be at some point through taxes or impending fees, and I’m willing to bet no one will see a reduction in electrical power or transportation fees that are allowing some to gain huge profits from this direction. I feel for those that have lost hundreds and thousands of dollars including their life savings from this irresponsible plan. I call it irresponsible because after it happened once, they let it happen again. From the looks of levels currently it’s going to happen a third time. In a relatively short period of time (4 years) With that said, no one, other than who was in on the decisions being made, would of agreed to this direction fully knowing the risks of flooding as a result just to improve the ecosystem???? Or make it better for the baitfish???? I must of missed that lecture where we needed to flood the lake to help our fisheries......Shouldn’t we then go to all of the local / state governments and request an increase in dams and dikes along rivers and creeks to flood the lakes so we can improve the states fisheries and ecosystem? If this plan is so good then it should work right? This feels like it’s a money grab. Lastly, and just a question, when you say everyone is feeling it from Lake Superior to Montreal, how much is being truly felt from the seasonal rainfall levels vs holding the flows back causing to it backlog. I don’t wish this on my worst enemy but part of me is wanting to get a front row seat if this disaster happens a third time. I’m not trying to argue but I got to tell ya, if there’s no remorse for those that have been impacted or providing ideas and support for changes to makes things better, you might get a different response than what your looking for. You could always fallback on the Canandaiqua derby too Les but you probably have no shot at winning it.....[emoji846] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Should be part of your total bag of 6, you could use it as the "other species" or all other NYS ducks. You could still use it as a Mallard or a Black but if I remember right you would still be legal if you shot 2 mallards ( 1 hen only), 2 blacks, and this hybrid for example. If you wanted to be safe and not worry, include it one of the species it closely resembles. If you do happen to get checked, do not say "Frogger said....." lol

Great insight Les, and Lucky I have to somewhat apologize for the somewhat short response I made. I mistakenly looked at my phone while doing the shopping thing with the Mrs's and being somewhat, shall I say "bored out of my mind" wanted to chime in. I realize that the comment "closing" the creeks is a big deal, one that is easier said than done, and yes impacts a lot of people, businesses etc. I also realize that there are many other issues that have been mentioned by you and others as well. I agree with it all. Seneca has its issues. Hopefully we are on the rebound. A couple more years will tell. Stream management is definitely needed on its waterways for the rainbows. Some are being done, but boy what a difference our creeks look like today from 30 years ago. Some don't even have flow for majority of the year. Hopefully we someday realize, and im sure many do, that we need to understand that our fisheries is like our deer herd. We do a tremendous amount of effort all year to grow big deer. We take out predation, plant crops to grow antlers, maximize doe to buck ratios etc. Has to be the same focus with our fish. That 10lb rainbow you caught( if you are Lucky- get it) whether in the lake or creek, made it to through the blanket of Lures and egg sacs during its life, not to mention the issues it faced with its own environment within the water ways. So again, I didn't want the "shut her down for a year" to be misunderstood. There's a lot more to it than that, and understandably. And Les, I know you don't have all your shopping done.....

Close the lake and the tribs for a year on Seneca. I’m in. I do both and hate to see the rapid decline. I’m not partial or have a special interest. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
