  1. Thank Brian! Those colors I got from you are still producing!
  2. Well another year in the books. Congrats to the winners and to all of those who battled the weather this past weekend. Good to see the fellow fisherman and friends and family during it. All in all it was a struggle to keep a focus on what was catching fish as it wouldn’t last long. Flexibility was our theme bouncing from different techniques as the wind and weather would allow. The boys wanted to at least try and pull the pflugars /copper just like there uncle who recently passed would fish. We hit a period of time Sunday pm in the brutal west wind where we couldn’t keep the fish off. We lost a stud. Told the boys keep em down, now is the time. Brody hits his 8.5 lber with us having to make that dreaded decision, go now to weigh in or stay. We decided to go in. Once we got back for the last hr the bite died. Oh well. We did 35+ for the weekend. No real pattern. Scattered was an understatement. Fish were to my surprise marked up quite a bit from lamprey with us catching a few for fish food. Seemed more than last year but could be wrong. I hope the derby stays around with having some new direction. It needs it. Changes are needed to get the interest back. Thanks again Steve (Roy’s Boys) Larry and Roz @ Roy’s Marina for the hospitality and support. Congrats Steve on that stud Brown. I was rooting for ya. Some pics of me attempting to be as good as my late brother was in pulling copper and Brodys 1st in teen division.
  3. Thanks Bill. I think this years derby will be the hardest for me mentally as we recently had a family shocker. Seeing our friends and family on the lake will probably be my trophy. Anything else will be a bonus.
  4. Thanks for the reminder and the course info. Easy peasy! Took the time today to knock it out.
  5. Back in the late 2000’s maybe 2010? I became witness to a drop in the bottom bathymetric around the Belhurst hole so significant I thought my graph went bad. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out where the bottom went (supposed to be about 120ft ). Actual depth was now 200ft. Crazy to see it. Reached out to the biologist at the time that ran the Hobart boat to see if they had seen similiar readings. Didn’t really get any sense of interest. Seems these guys in the article are quite into it.
  6. Steve, sent you a pm.
  7. All good bud, just didn’t want miss next weekend.
  8. Harvey, FYI that tourney is next Sat Aug 3rd
  9. Thanks for taking the time to do these video reports. So helpful to the group.
  10. Duke good meeting you today! Whaler, as always, good talking with you today bud, thanks for the info. Biggest for us today was 22lbs. I will tell you it’s my first time over here this year on the dark side. What a change from where we’ve been that past couple of weeks.
  11. Yep, when lithiums go they go from 13v to zero just like that. Also when measuring the voltage, you can’t use the voltmeter on the dash, you have to use a %meter that tells you how much is left. In case you don’t have one.
  12. For the crazy currents I’ve seen while using a 4xd, I’d suggest saving your money as well. Angles of cable based on ball weight are good to look at it as suggested, some use a thumper rod to know how fast when in 100ft or so. You can also put a flasher (blades) down to get an idea how hard there spinning. Once you get a sense of surface speed or start catching fish hone in on that speed. Dipsey as someone said with the bend of the rod is a good as well
  13. Forgot to mention plug. If wires are going to a plug and your plugging it in I’ve heard those plugs crap out on some.
  14. Did it just start doing it after the new batteries? I’d check connections, confirm voltage to motor, breaker might need replacing (confirm amperage rating) not sure why wires are going to a buss bar vs neg straight to motor, positive to breaker then to motor. Confirm correct awg wire for amp draw. 40-50amps could be 8 to 6awg depending on length. I’d figure it out though before something worse happens than the breaker tripping. Others on here might have additional help. Good luck. Let us know what you find
  15. Thanks guys, this year however we struggled to get anything larger than 7lbs in the box. We’ve all been there, when you least expect it right. 50% being in the right place at the right time, 30% determination, 20% luck! Can’t say enough for my net man (son)with a perfect net job. With a little high fiving and yahooing my apologies to the boat still fishing next to us watching the show.
  16. Good luck Les! Anyone out there that was lucky enough to get #1 ticket entry should earn the grand prize!!!🏆
  17. Just to add, fish seem to be everywhere both deep and shallow and in all over the water column. Seems to be warming up quickly as I saw 52 on top last week where Sunday I saw 57.
  18. I have Traxstech 6inch plate to accept an adapter plate that has a Ram ball mount bolted to it. I have Garmin 93sv that I use for trolling in the back networked to my dash Garmin or I can move it up to the bow for my minn Kota.
  19. Nice going John! Great report!
  20. I’m in for 28 (Gambler)
