  1. Harvey O'hara in Watkins Glen (Troutman 87 on L.O.U.... I think)makes 12.5 lb torpedoes that work really nice but you would be really maxing out that litte mini. I ran one of those in my first boat with a 8lb torpedo and it worked pretty well. Like they say, lowering your speed would be the biggest help. If you run Suttons you can run 1.8 mph gps. That would be a happy combination!
  2. Blacks...dont waste your money on Walkers.
  3. You better behave Kinger or your gonna loose your ride!
  4. We have our share of cotton.....and weeds too!
  5. On the water late after getting some family stuff done. 9:00 am Ran one rigger at 30 ft one at 35 ft and a 3 color core on a inline board. Didnt take long for the 30 foot rigger to fire with a miss. Turned around went back up through and it fired again...fish on this time a 3 or 4 lb brown in the boat...now I realize I have forgot my net...hmmm...well maybe they will all be small....ha....same rigger popped again this time I knew I had somethin good. After a long slow retrieve in realizing this fish needs to be plumb tuckered out if I have any chance of getting her in the boat without a net. Noticing she had a hitchhiker I grabbed her snipped her rider then weighed her....9lbs 12oz....and a very unhappy lamprey. proceeded to work the same water when the inline board started zinging backwards and the reel started screeming....nice landlock in the boat. Decided I should wrap it up when the same 30 ft rigger fired this time with a nice healthy 5lb 8oz bow!! All fish lived happily ever after except for that tasty salmon!! 30'over 60' 2.4 mph gps...fishhawk out of commision for now....I dont know about you guys but judging by the marine life off our dock and the bait out deeper I think Seneca is coming back.
  6. Nice report...thanks Lobster
  7. You may want to just buy a black one and use your others as back up. I had a problem with the paint falling or wearing off then I had to repaint them a number of times and I think that affected performance. Maybe I just didnt get the right paint....but if you have to go out and BUY paint maybe you should just BUY a new dipsy!
  8. Sounds great. Youth divisions or prizes perhaps?
  9. Overcast, warm, calm and fish that were eager! Three color lead core on a board and 26' rigger working 30 to 60 f.o.w. did its job today. Slob of the day was a nice chunky 8 lb Brown!
  10. Thanks to everyone for the help trying to get my Humminbird figured out...After a couple calls to Humminbird support and some help from Erabbit we decided I had a lemon. Returned it to bass pro for a different head unit and knock on wood...she is working nice...
  11. White and green dot spinny with a Big Weenie seneca ghost fly or mountain dew spinny with a reel hooked up Big Weenie fly. I thought the same thing...is a fish really gonna fall for this crap? YES THEY DO!!! I watch mature whitetail bucks fall for plastic decoys too...untill they get down wind of it!!!
  12. Black on one side and green on the other...so I dont have to look at the left or right setting.
  13. Welcome aboard...I wont be of much help if you have been at it all your life but you definately will learn a thing or two from these other old pros!
  14. Thanks for the info Ed...I hope Kinger had a better morning than he did a few weeks ago!!!
  15. Thanks guys...tonight all of the sudden it is working...did not touch a thing...gonna keep an eye on it...we will see....

Last year I found a 8 pound male that prefered a Dream Weaver Super Slim Green Gator...just a thought!!!
  17. That makes much better sense...Thanks Les
  18. The rubber band trick is interesting. I have wondered what is going to happen when I hook up with one of those acrobatic Fingerlakes Landlocks or bows and the board is smacking them and my spoon. Does it matter how far behind the core you clip your big game mono to the board or is it just however far from the boat you feel like running it? Thanks guys, Andy
  19. Thanks but I tried that...I cannot get GPS speed, maps, waypoints or any of that.
  20. Ok, I will shorten up the lead. How far behind the last color of core should the board be clipped onto the big game mono?
  21. Trolled at first light putting down 3 Suttons. One on the tx22 board with 3 colors of core. Other two on a 20 ft rigger and a 10 ft rigger over 40 to 80 f.o.w.(zig zagging) The first hour was uneventfull then the Browns turned on...boated two nice ones within 10 minutes or less. Trolled for a half hour or so more then while checking my 20 ft rigger I caught out of the corner of my eye the 10 footer firing, I had an aerial show of a very large assuming Landlock(possibly a bow) by the time I grabbed the rod and set the hook she was long gone. All three fish were on the 10 ft rigger. Quick question... I have been running three colors of core behind a tx22 for quite a few miles . I am using about 75 feet of 10lb fluro leader...a #2 snapswivel and clipping the board about 75 ft or so on the big game mono behind the three colors. The only fish I have caught was a pike...am I doing something wrong? Thanks, Andy
  22. I am very close to returning the Humminbird 597 ci hd di. I have been having allot of problems with it not reading the correct depth...it flashes back and fourth to correct depth, 0 to 2 ft, 1000ft etc...the sonar graph is a total mess also... especially when beyond 150 ft. The salt water setting is on deep. Now I cannot get any GPS speed, maps or waypoints at all. Does the GPS speed have to be programmed in or should it come on automatically... Thanks, Andy
